About this property

- Mill End Cottage - Listed Character Cottage In Central Kingsbridge

Compared to many cottages of this character Mill End feels bright and airy. Local shops, restaurants and cafes are situated just a couple of minutes walk away.

The property has a large private gravel parking area with double wooden gates and you enter via the back door. Downstairs is the bathroom, utility area, and open plan living area. The two bedrooms are accessed via a staircase off this area. There is space to hang wet weather gear away from the main living area.

The main double bedroom has dual aspect windows. The second bedroom has twin beds. Wardrobe (with hangers) and storage areas in both rooms.

Outside there is a table and 4 chairs for you to relax and chill out. You can also dry your clothes on a washing line and in the Out Room you will find an ironing board, iron, clothes horse, vacuum cleaner, dustpan and brush, this is where your wet gear can be left.

We love dogs, having one ourself, and your dog is very welcome, however we do expect any dog mess to be cleaned up and disposed of properly. Regrettably we cannot accept a bitch in or about to come into season. We don't allow dogs to be left alone at the property and the charge is £10.00 a night for your furry friend.

Electric vehicles: we do not allow vehicle charging, however in an emergency and with owners specific consent it is possible to run a lead, but there will be an additional cost of £10.00 minimum per charge for doing so, paid directly to the owner. Please advise if you intend to do this.

You will find a small supply of tea/coffee/milk and sugar to welcome you.

Lovely town in lovely area

Good accommodation in a convenient place of a lovely interesting small town. There were a couple of negatives, toaster blew a fuse and tripped the RCCB. The boiler was very noisy which, as a retired engineer, made me suspect a failing pump. Not able to contact owner by phone ref. toaster. ,

Great location and stay

Enjoyed staying at this property. We’ve stayed in kingsbridge a couple of times now. This property was very central for restaurants and pubs, and had everything we needed - good shower, comfortable beds, and decent kitchen. The courtyard was useful for parking the car safely and sitting out at night. Thanks

Super location

The central location of this cottage is great for access to the town, shops, restaurants and waterside, as well as excellent bus connections. Having it's private parking was a bonus.

Our fortnight stay in Kingsbridge

It was good having 2 parking spaces but quite difficult to get over the high kerb . Problems that occurred were dealt with quickly and in a friendly manner. Nice being close to town but not impressed with the area surrounding the house .

Ideal Location

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this cottage. The location is superb in the heart of the village and within walking distance of everything. On site private enclosed parking was a boon. The cottage is small but well equipped and scrupulously clean, we appreciated the covers on the sofas and assume that they are changed for each rental. We had an issue with the hot water while we were there which was dealt with quickly and efficiently by the owners. A really nice place from which to explore and a credit to it's owners. The only minor annoyance, which has nothing to do with the owners, is the very patchy mobile phone coverage.

Nice cottage that makes good use of space.

The big downstairs room is well laid out and it has a lot of light from the windows. Comfortable sofas and good wifi. Good lighting throughout. The kitchen area is a spacious layout, it is well-equipped and cooking here was easy. The shower is a little underpowered but it was ok. All very well kept, with good arrangements to make the cottage COVID-safe. The parking area is very large and has solid gates. We found this useful, as we had bicycles and it felt secure to have them in the car and behind gates away from prying eyes. We had lunch one day outside in the little patio (in September). Kingsbridge is a fascinating little town with lots of independent shops on the high street - we found awesome pasties, and luscious ice cream - and tiny little alleys to explore, and it is nice to walk along the river estuary. The cottage is close to the town centre pubs and restaurants. It is quite lively on Saturday night (not a problem) and very quiet other evenings. There is a good range of restaurants. There are also two big supermarkets within walking distance of the cottage. If mountainbiking is your thing, locally there are plenty of unmetalled roads, and further afield it is about 30 mins drive to Dartmoor and moorland singletrack, and an hour to the famed Lustleigh Coombe.

Lovely cottage in excellent location.

We spent a week in this cosy cottage in the centre of Kingsbridge, which is a pretty estuary town with excellent shops and restaurants all within walking distance. The cottage was spotless, excellent for self catering, with modern shower room downstairs off the utility room. There are two outside seating areas; one small and another good sized area which doubles as the driveway but is completely private. Although in the centre of Kingsbridge there was no nightime noise. Salcombe and Hope Cove well worth a visit, as well as Slapham Vineyard where we sampled a selection of wines and cheeses, and for the best cocktails and burgers then head for The Loft in Kingsbridge. A thoroughly enjoyable week and we will definitely book this cottage again. Thank you Rebecca.

Kingsbridge return 9 20

First impressions were good but notice of Funeral Parlour would have been appreciated. Beds comfortable and enough space for 2. Plenty of appliances in kitchen as we ate in most evenings ( due to the covid 19 ). The underfloor heating in shower room was a bonus. We liked the seating covers and assumed they were changed on each holiday let. We were able to have breakfast outside on a couple of occasions and the fact that the large gates were shut, stopped anybody looking in. Minimal noise problems just the roller shutters opposite and odd noisy vehicle. Carpets upstairs need a shampoo as small stains appearing. Stair treads noisy on the turn (middle of night loo visit). Cupboard doors loose as is loo seat. Self closing and antibacterial seat needed. Small amount of decoration and mastic to shower. No pressure at shower but suited us. We both enjoyed the property as walking distance to quey and shops short and level. I would use this property again and wish you plenty of bookings. Trevor Warrington

I was born and have lived in the beautiful South Hams area for most of my life.

Why they chose this property

The light in Mill End is delightful because of the dual aspect windows in the living area and master bedroom. A cosy cottage where you will soon feel at home ready to explore the amazing area.

What makes this property unique

Central location where you could bring your kayaks, or even a small boat which would be left in a secured, gated courtyard.
