We had a wonderful time staying with Ruth and her family on the farm. She was exceptionally accommodating and helpful when we had to make some spontaneous changes to our booking due to travel difficulties. We stayed for almost two weeks and enjoyed spending free time with the dogs (especially the puppy), sheep and horses on the property. The farm and surrounding area is very serene, like something straight out of a picture book. The room itself has a big bed and is decorated comfortably in country style and the kitchen is quite spacious with all the necessities available. Washer and dryer were a big plus too. There was ample parking in front of the property as well. Thank you, Ruth! Would definitely recommend!
We absolutely loved our stay and would not change a thing. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in when away. Everywhere was decorated to exquisite taste and you had everything you could possibly need, even down to a toweling bathrobe and slippers provided for each guest. Surrounded by picturesque fields it's a great base to get out on a walk. There are also a few towns and even a pretty retail village nearby. If you want to get away from it all and chill in clean well maintained accommodation this is definitely the place for you. And Ruth is the perfect host - friendly and on hand but never intrusive. I would give our stay here a 10 star rating if I were allowed to!
It has a lot of potential but unfortunately it not realised
Poor maintenance
Contact with the owner was difficult and she expected us to ring her then the phone was off!
Room was not quite as expected the sheets were Very crumpled as they had not been ironed
No no waste bin in bedroom
Kitchen across a courtyard with minimal lighting and loose flags
In the kitchen there was washing hanging up above the table A duvet One of the lights was out a real mix of knives and forks nothing matched plates had a chip on it. The bin lid was broken
Such a shame Simple things that could have been repair or changed
Would not recommend or go back there currently not worth the money either
My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights, the host was vey welcoming and gave good communication. The location was great we were surrounded by animals and the country side atmosphere. As for the cottage it was so cute and the bathroom was very big. I would recommend this property to anyone.
A working farm, the accommodation was in a very cosy annex to the farmhouse with a large beamed bedroom, comfy bed and adjacent a very spacious bathroom with large walk in shower and full sized bath. All mod cons available and all consumables - from tea and coffee to shampoo and shower gel - freely available. Across a small courtyard from the annex is a large kitchen, again with every conceivable appliance and gadget available for use any time of the day or night. The kitchen is shared with other guests and it was good to meet others who enjoy the country life.
Access to the farmhouse is down a very long and potholed track and patience and keen eyesight is needed to make sure you and your car arrive in one piece!
Ruth and her family gave us a very warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble and Ruth was really helpful in suggesting places to visit, local pubs and cafes. And also a really happy and dynamic person to chat with.
For a short stay in the South Midlands at any time of the year I would wholeheartedly recommend Lower Fields Farm - it's remote enough to feel like a true country break but close enough to the historical towns of Leamington, Warwick and Stratford to make sure there's plenty of activities and culture thrown in!
