Comfortable, well equipped
This was our second visit to the cottage and will not be our last. The owners have ensured that everything you could possibly need for your holiday is readily available. It is by far the most comfortable cottage I have stayed in (and we’ve stayed in lots!), in the most beautiful and peaceful of locations. Mandy, the owner, is a joy to deal with. We had a truly wonderful and relaxing time.

Terrible
Dirty. Spiders and cobwebs everywhere. On ceilings, under and behind beds, in gaps between worktops and washing machine, in wardrobe, on outside furniture. Flies and moths everywhere in the cottage. Not allowed to walk in the private grounds where cottage is situated(this should be stated prior to booking) Zero privacy, no window coverings. Outside is unkempt, broken slabs, dangerous for toddlers. I came home after first night, my family stayed trying to make the best of a bad situation. Im extremely upset and disappointed.

Beautiful property in fantastic location, perfect relaxing holiday
We absolutely loved staying here! Myself, my partner, our two children (19months and 8 years old) and our two dogs all had a fantastic time. We explored the local area then came home to relax with board games around the fire and then hot tub before bed once the baby was asleep. The bedrooms of very spacious and extremely comfortable, plenty of towels available and washing facilities which came in very useful with the wet weather. It's a wonderful place and we would highly recommend it. The property has everything you need to enjoy your stay! The host was fantastic and we knew if we need anything we only had to message. We will most certainly be back in the near future.

Hidden from View
Excellent property, well appointed, needs a little maintenance in kitchen to large oven and hood. Access from the road is difficult and in late season very wet and sludgy. Although some negatives the property was excellent value for money.

Gorgeous cottage
This is a beautiful, very well equipped cottage. Absolutely everything we needed was provided by the thoughtful, lovely owners. The surroundings are stunning and we had the most blissful, peaceful time. One of our group was disabled and found the cottage very easy to navigate around. The visiting pet lambs and chicken were a definite bonus as were the still warm fresh eggs given to us by the groundsmans wife. A dip in the hot tub followed by a cosy night in front of the wood burner ensured a very happy holiday. We would definitely return.

Photos do not do it justice
An idyllic impromptu escape. The photos on the website do not convey just how perfectly situated this property is. We were all able to relax from arrival & have already looked to see when it is available on dates that suit us!!

Gorgeous setting
A stylish yet comfortable cottage with lovely outlook across the Scottish countryside. High speed internet and Netflix for staying in days but within easy reach of the Galloway Forest and the Coast. An extensive welcome pack on arrival and excellent communication with hosts throughout our stay as required. We would love to return

Fantastic home away from home
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whispering Trees. The cottage is comfortable and homely, yet still modern with high speed Internet and Netflix, fantastic quiet setting on a private estate but in easy reach of the beautiful sights Dumfries and Galloway has to offer.
