About this property

A country retreat on the outskirts of our medieval town of Gourdon en Quercy

Enjoy a stay at La Lezardiere with its large terraces and open views towards the church of the ancient town of Gourdon en Quercy. We are only 5 minutes to the town’s centre with its many shops and cafés. Our town of Gourdon has a very medieval feel to it: a fortified gate, half-timbered houses, narrow lanes twisting up to the esplanade where once the castle stood… the rue du Majou, the Maison du Sénéchal, the 17th C. Town Hall, L'église Saint-Pierre, the Maison Cavaignac -all provide opportunities! We provide two large king sized bedrooms en suite, each with their own private terrace, access to the breakfast terrace where you can take in the beautiful scenery and the quietness of our extensive gardens. You will have the use of our summer kitchen equipped with an induction hob and oven, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. Also provided is a washing machine to allow you catch up with any laundry needs. We also have a table tennis, a badminton set and bicycles to allow you to explore the surrounding area at a gentler pace.
We are perfectly placed to explore the many sites close by. The Lot's character is formed by its 'causses' (limestone plateaux) through which the Lot, Dordogne and Célé valleys have carved their way. It is studded with major tourist attractions and beautiful villages such as Cahors, Figeac and Saint Cirq Lapopie…. Man and nature have both left their imprint on the Pech Merle cave and Padirac Chasm. Whether you're rambling or cycling, the unspoiled, authentic nature of the Lot is plain to see. Home to excellent local produce and fine food and wines, the Lot has many treats to offer your taste buds, including truffles, foie gras, lamb, local Quercy melons, and Cahors Malbec Wine. We are also close to many other places of interest including Sarlat, the mighty river Dordogne, Rocamadour Sanctuary, Domme, Grotte de Pech Merle, Grotte de Lascaux, and we are close to the St James of Compostella pilgrim trail. We are only 15 minutes from A20 (jt 56) - the main route through France .
