This oceanfront two bedroom condo is in close proximity to many activities, shopping and dining. Take romantic walks along the white sandy beach or relax on the lanai and enjoy nature’s beauty amid the gentle breezes.

This second floor unit has a king size bed in the master bedroom and two twin beds in the second bedroom. There are ceiling fans in both bedrooms & the living area to circulate the cool ocean breezes. The kitchen is fully equipped and convenient to enjoy home cooked meals with your family. Sit back and enjoy family time in the living area or enjoy use of the flat screen TV.

The property is lushly landscaped with tropical flowers, fruit trees and peaceful gardens. Enjoy a day refreshing in the pool or enjoy swimming or snorkeling in the sparkling blue Pacific. This beautiful property has lots to enjoy. Play a game of tennis or shuffleboard, grill out at the poolside barbecue, or luxuriate in the jacuzzi or sauna.

Pono Kai is a very short walk to the center of Old Kapaa Town where you can shop for local produce, browse small shops, and dine at a variety of restaurants. Activities nearby include seasonal swimming, snorkeling, water skiing, fishing, surfing, kayaking, hiking, flight-seeing, shopping, tennis and golf. Rent a bike to enjoy a day riding along the coast on the bike path or rent a kayak or stand-up paddle board to use in the Wailua river. Activities are endless and you will be happy with all you can enjoy on your next vacation.

It was wonderful to sit out on the porch and view the sunrise every morning and hear the ocean all day if we didn't want to venture out. The path that runs along the back has walkers and bikers all day and night and we loved joining them.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pono Kai Unit A-201 is perfection! This completely updated condo is very clean, comfortable and well appointed. The location of this unit provides additional privacy since it's located at the very end of the complex, not to mention the spectacular ocean views and sunrises. The kitchen is large and well-stocked with everything you could possibly need to prepare meals. The unit does not provide cooking oils or spices, but that's normal for a vacation rental. There's a 24-hour Safeway about a mile down the road where you can get everything you need. The hall closet is stocked with tons of extra towels and linens, and the main bath closet has everything you need for a day at the beach! The condo complex is quiet, well maintained and centrally located between the north and south shores. Be sure to rent bicycles and take the bike path north ~ it was one of the highlights of our trip!

Kapaa Stay

This property was in a good location, on the beach, with a sidewalk along the beach. It was a short walk along the beach walking path to Kapaa restaurants and shops. Safeway was a short drive away, and Kapaa was a central location for exploring the island. The apartment rental was as advertised. Very comfortable. We could see the sun rise every morning from our balcony.

Overall, the condo was very nice and clean. The only exception were the bathroom mats that were dirty. I had to use the towels as floor mats. The condo came with beach chairs, umbrella, towels, and few other items that we didn’t use. The view was nice and right off the boardwalk.

A/C was nice to have, but not needed much due to island breeze. Appreciated beach chairs, cooler, and boogie boards in the unit!

Beautiful view but blocked by obscure sliding door

The bike path outside our unit provided a wonderful morning walk. With an ocean front condo we were disappointed with the obscure sliding glass door. We could only enjoy the views when the slider was fully open. Unfortunately we had stromy weather on two of our days and the rains were so strong along with a hole in our porch gutter, our porch flooded and flowed into our living room. Thus we were required to keep our slider close and our beautiful ocean view was completely obscured. What a bummer!

Can’t beat the view!

This is a very comfortable condo with a king-sized bed in one room and two twins in another bedroom and two full bathrooms. The living room has a large comfortable couch and a rocking chair. The view from the living room and from the bedroom looks across a lawn and a bike path to the wide-open ocean. The kitchen has everything we needed to cook our meals and dish washing soap was provided. The management company for this private rental had a nice welcoming gift on the kitchen table when we entered and they made sure we knew they were available if we needed help with anything. One day we rented bikes (right on the bike path walking northbound about a half-mile) and the ride was one of my favorite days. You can ride southbound all the way to Lydgate Beach. If you are a chocolate lover, explore the possibilities at the Lydgate Farm (a car drive).

Beautiful windy ocean location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If you love a beautiful ocean view and listening to the ocean and tradewinds, this is the place for you. A beautiful many-mile bike path along the east-side ocean separates you from a little-used beach that seems safer for swimming than other Kauai beaches. Listen to the wind and ocean all night in your ocean-front bedroom, and wake to the Kauai roosters. Unit needs updating, but was clean, spacious and met our needs. Unit has beach chairs and boogie boards and beach-goers can shower off sand, or pool and hot tub on property. Watch a few fishing boats leave from the river. Location, location, location says it all for us. Pono Kai in Kapaa town is a good central location for island visitors, ocean-front restaurants at Sam’s, the Oasis, Lava Lava, and Crooked Surf. Safeway groceries near by ....get a discount card. Kauai Vacation Rentals was a pleasure to deal with.
