A little gem
We loved our stay at Little Emmaus. Although small it contained everything we needed for a very comfortable week, with lots of homely, personal touches which were much appreciated. There were supplies of tea, coffee, sugar, and milk in the fridge, plus the particularly thoughtful touch of some home made cakes.
The location is brilliant, private, quiet and peaceful, with uninterrupted views across the fields. As well as a good pub with beer garden five minutes stroll away there are beautiful walks from the doorstep, right across the reed marshes to the sea, or along to Blakeny, all sorts of possibilities. Within ten minutes drive are some wonderful quays and villages, another ten minutes would see you in Sheringham, five more on to Cromer. The bird life at Cley is fantastic - we even saw a snow owl out hunting one morning - and we deeply regretted not bringing binoculars. We could see there were partridges in the field but a closer look would have been a bonus! Tanya and Robin, whose home is across the yard behind the annex, are superb hosts. They are helpful, friendly, there if you need them, yet unintrusive. They have provided helpful leaflets and information on the area and some interesting books to browse through. And so, we have no hesitation in recommending Little Emmaus very highly.
