Tranquil and quiet but close to all

We spent 4 days at this beautiful log home with jaw dropping views day and night and it wasn't enough. We had coffee with the neighbors (a mule deer and her fawn) and spotted a black bear and two moose. Everything was as described and Art was a wonderful host. If you plan on visiting the Bozeman/Livingston/Paradise Valley area you should book here, you won't regret it. We will definitely come back and stay here next time we are in MT.

Best host- best beds- best views!!

This was our first trip to Montana and the property was perfect. Art is an amazing host with the perfect amount of support and communication. He set us up with ideas of things to do, left wine and chocolates, s'mores for the kids and so much more! He had binoculars there, firewood staged at the fire pit, toys for the littles, movies, and the list goes on and on! We loved the beds- such a great comfort after long days outside. We enjoyed the hot tub (nice robes available). Sitting on the deck each morning and evening was our favorite! We spotted mule deer, fox, snowshoe rabbit, moose and baby, white tail deer, hummingbirds, owl and so on. The wildflowers all over the yard were a delight! We were a little sad to leave but wow what a great place to unwind and enjoy the outdoors! Thanks Art!

Great time with a wonderful view!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Art's home. He has been a formidable host and the house offered all that we could ask for. The views from the terrace are stunning and even better if enjoyed while sitting in the jacuzzi.

Just what we were looking for!

Like anyone else reading this, before we booked this trip we read review after review. All I could think was ‘how can the pictures not do it justice, they seem too good to be true’. But the reviews are spot on. The pictures are great but the reality is so much more. Once you are on the mountain, it’s like a birds view from their perch. The views are incredible. We booked to celebrate my birthday and wanted someplace we could just hang out, escape from having a schedule and hopefully catch some wildlife. That is exactly what you will find here! We woke up every morning to have coffee watching the deer, saw a moose on our first day and loved daily visits from the fox. We watched storms roll in and when the clouds cleared, saw more stars in the sky than I can remember seeing. The description about the drive up the mountain is correct. We decided that WHEN we go back, we will be back on property before dark. But during the day the location is perfect! Halfway between Bozeman and Livingston. Art was fantastic! As described, he meets you at the bottom of the mountain to guide you up and gives you a walk through of the house. The furniture is in great shape and beds comfortable. Note there are only 2 full baths and 2 bedrooms with doors. The upstairs is a loft. It didn’t bother us for what we needed but good to know if you have a need for 3 bedrooms and full baths. All to say we will be back and already looking at dates. I am afraid the more people find out about this place, the faster it will book. I almost want to keep it a secret but Art is too amazing not to do it justice. So if you want your shoulders to relax, breathe in some clean mountain air, and just enjoy nature. This is the place to book

Best view ever!!!

Art was great before we even got there! Communicated with us about the house and met us at the bottom of the mountain to guide us up and explain everything which was incredibly helpful! Photos just don't do the spectacular views justice!! It's absolutely breathtaking! The drive up the mountain will blow your mind! The kitchen has everything you need. We don't have Alexa and it was fun to play music through it. Perfect spot from the airport and downtown Bozeman. Many things to do. We suggest renting an ATV and go riding the Gallatin National Forrest. It was incredible! We saw amazing storms roll in, it's like you're on top of the world! We normally don't write reviews, but wanted everyone to know how amazing this house is!!!! Thanks again, Art!!

Gallatin County Grandeur

This home is amazing! Nothing has been overlooked. Anything you could possibly need or want is supplied. Beds were super comfy and water pressure was good. Communication was spot on. Questions were answered quickly and a quick escort up the mountain and introduction to the Smart home, by the owner, was welcome. Now let’s talk about the views! This Florida girl was in Heaven! The view was nothing less than awe inspiring. It was why I rented the house in the first place and it didn’t disappoint! Just know, you can’t have those views without a little effort. It’s a 15 minute drive up and down the mountain, but no matter, it’s totally worth it! I highly recommend!

This property was amazing! From the wildlife and solitude, to the views from the deck of the Bridger Range, this place was exactly what we needed. Art thought of everything; stocking the home with so many extras we really didn't need to (or want to) leave after our initial grocery run. And the hot tub under the stars was awesome! We already miss this Montana retreat and want to come back!

FANTASTIC

Wonderful home in an amazing setting with fantastic views and sunsets. What you read about and see is what you get - in fact the photos don’t do it justice. I agree with all the recent reviews. The home is clean, well appointed, the tech is cool, the kitchen well stocked with staples - iota a great vacation home. If you want an isolated place but still convenient to Bozeman and Livingston, this is your place. And Art, is one of the best hosts I have come across. He is responsive, pleasant to deal with and goes out of his way to accommodate and assure that you will have everything you need.

Bliss in Bozeman

This property was beautiful. The Cabin was large, comfortable and had all the modern conveniences. Especially thankful for the well equipped kitchen stocked with staples. The views are incredible - pictures don't do it justice. Art was a wonderful host - accommodating in any way he could be. Definitely ensure you have a 4X4 as you will need it. Otherwise prepare to relax and get lost in the vistas and animals on property. Day trips to Bozeman / Big Sky were very straightforward. YNP was a dream day trip too but we just missed all the terrible flooding so make sure you plan that in advance as it will take some time for the park to recover unfortunately.

Fabulous home and property with Art as an excellent host

Art, as owner and host, knows all details needed for an enjoyable stay. Everything we needed for our 7-dat stay was anticipated. We enjoyed getting snowed-in for a full day and Art ensured the driveway was cleared twice/day for the remainder of our stay. We have stayed at many VRBO properties around the world; this property and our stay is one of our favorites!

Mountain Tech House

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at this terrific house. As soon as we opened the front door, all of us just said "WOW!" Art the friendly owner, met us at the bottom of the hill for the 15 min. ride up to "The Edge " house. Upon arrival he showed us the many extras in this home. Some special touches were left for us to find, as we explored the house. All the rooms are great, and the beds are comfortable. Even though we didn't want to leave the house, we did make the trip to Yellowstone several times and found the Parks North gate entrance quicker. (Tip: Viewing Mammoth Hot Springs & Roaring Mountain in the early morning is great for photos.) Next time we are near Bozeman, we hope this unique house with amazing views is available.

Wonderful Views and Well Appointed House

This house is a real gem and has unbelievable views. The house is very well appointed and all the appliances are on the newer side and work great. It really has everything you need, and they thought of everything. We rented for 2 weeks and worked several days there - the Internet connection was super fast and we did video calls with no issues. Cell phone reception was awesome too. Most mornings and late afternoons we saw wild life right out the window. The wildlife video cams were also cool to view the property in the evening. It's just a 30 minute ride to Bozeman and Livingston. Be sure to have a 4 wheel drive if you rent this house. It takes about 15 minutes from the main road to climb up to the house on a dirt road with some switchbacks. After a few times doing it, it was really easy, you just would not want to do it in a sedan. Lastly before you book I would ask the owner if he fixed the doors that lead out to the deck form the dining area - they were really stuck and super hard to open and close (and it was not just about summer time swelling). We had to use the bedroom door most of the time which was not very convenient. Also it would be great if the top of the driveway was grated as turning around was a bit of a pain. With these two things aside it's a great rental.

I’m someone who deeply appreciates the outdoors and finds peace and serenity in the natural beauty surrounding my home. This special place is my sanctuary, where I can truly connect with nature, whether I’m hiking the property or enjoying a campfire with friends. I take great satisfaction in sharing this unique retreat with others, offering them the opportunity to experience the same magic and tranquility that I find here.

When the house isn’t occupied, you’ll likely find me exploring the land or simply enjoying the quiet moments that come with being in such a beautiful, secluded spot. I’m always happy to share this peaceful environment with guests who appreciate the outdoors as much as I do.

Why they chose this property

I chose this location for its complete isolation and unparalleled peacefulness. When staying at the home, you won’t encounter a single vehicle or person, allowing for total privacy and a true escape into nature. The beauty of the area lies in its tranquility—you’re surrounded by pristine wilderness, yet you’re only a 30-minute drive from both Bozeman to the west and Livingston to the east, making it the perfect blend of seclusion and convenience.

What I enjoy most about the neighborhood is the sense of freedom and connection with the land. From the property, you can even see Bridger Bowl Ski Area to the north, which is just a 40-minute drive away, offering a fantastic winter activity option. Whether you’re relaxing in complete solitude or heading out for a short drive to town or the slopes, this neighborhood provides the best of both worlds.

What makes this property unique

As many of our guests have mentioned in their reviews, the breathtaking views from the property are truly unmatched—pictures just don’t do it justice. The home offers panoramic vistas of multiple mountain ranges, and at night, the distant city lights of Bozeman, Livingston, and beyond light up the horizon. Thanks to minimal light pollution, the night skies come alive with a stunning view of the Milky Way and countless stars, offering a uniquely peaceful stargazing experience.

Additionally, the property is teeming with wildlife. From the living room or the expansive deck—equipped with a hot tub—you can often spot moose, elk, and other animals, making it a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature. Whether you’re relaxing in the hot tub or enjoying a quiet moment on the deck, the combination of views and wildlife makes this home a truly special retreat.
