Cottage was very well presented with everything you could possibly need for a week stay. A complementary bottle of wine awaited us on arrival along with treats for our dog which was a nice touch. Very peaceful location. Lovely hosts. Would definitely stay here again.
Such a delightful, thoughtfully furnished cottage and we were blessed with sunshine, so sat out on the veranda looking at the beautiful view. Very peaceful place with everything you need. We wished we could stay more than one night, but were on our way north with limited time. We loved the eggs that were left for us, as well as the hens scratching around over the fence.
The cottage was wonderful. everything you needed and more. The hosts were fabulous and contactable if you needed. in fact they came round to drop off some home grown vegetables for us. Very peaceful with a gorgeous view of the River Severn. Would definitely recommend!!
Excellent area for walking and accessing many gardens
We really enjoyed our stay and the location. Neighbours friendly and helpful. Would love to investigate area further.
We were really lucky with the weather. Log burner kept us warm and cosy
The cottage was a perfect location for activities around the Forest of Dean and was wonderfully comfortable. We had a lovely week and Gemma was available for any queries. The online guest book was perfect before we came so we knew what to expect, as well as during our stay for options of where to go.
This comfortable cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing break, and Tom & Gemma were ideal hosts - ready to help and ready to chat. Lots to do and see in the area, plus the pleasure of coming back to the cottage and chilling out in the garden (in the sunshine!) overlooking the Severn in the distance. A very good week in a lovely place.
Gemma and Tom were great hosts, very helpful and friendly, OakTree Cottage was spotless, well equipped and comfortable, in a really tranquil location with plenty of walks and a great base for exploring the Wye Valley with the kids :)
A delightful cottage , run by a delightful family ! Emma and Tom helped to make our stay idyllic and made sure that everything we needed was provided , including dog treats and towels for our dog Chester.
Emma has a real flair for presentation with flowers throughout the cottage , lovely linens and a thoughtful welcome pack .
The location is perfect for exploring the locality and the neighbours we met were friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable.
A perfect cottage, in a perfect , peaceful spot . Thank you Gemma and Tom
I booked this for mine and my husband's honeymoon as we weren't able to travel abroad. I can't believe just how clean this beautiful place was! The oven looked like it had never been used!
The owners live next door and provided us with fresh eggs (chicken can be seen out the window!), dog treats and prosecco which was waiting on the kitchen table on our arrival which was a lovely touch.
Communication was excellent with Gemma and they kindly provided us with lots of walk information to choose from.
The medium charcoal weber bbq is very cute and we used this when the weather allowed.
The garden wasn't as big as expected but big enough for our boxer dog to play happily.
The only improvement I can think of is the kitchen equipment is a little basic for foodies like myself and my husband. A few more baking trays and sharper knives and it would have been perfect.
We had a fantastic stay and Gemma was so lovely when we had an incident involving the information book and an entire glass of wine! I blame the dog...
We ventured out to Ogmore beach in Wales which was a 1 hour 15 minute drive and wow what a walk! Absolutely beautiful and the dog was thrilled too!
Really glad we booked and shall be recommending!
The cottage was very homely with some lovely touches, fresh flowers and a generous welcome pack.
The situation was beautifully appointed, very quiet and peaceful but lots of birdsong and a country feel.
We were very comfortable and the owners were very obliging and helpful. The cottage was well equipped and perfect for our two dogs with a gated garden and plenty of walks nearby.
The area is beautiful with lots to do and see.
I would thoroughly recommend this cottage - you won’t be dissapointed.
