Islander Condo #502 is an East View, Bronze Unit that sleeps up to 6 people. Avoid the elevators with easy access to the ground floor and parking lot via the stairs near the condo. Step into our tropical paradise conveniently located for quick and easy access to the beach or your choice of two pools.

The kitchen is recently updated with new cabinets and appliances and is fully equipped with all the tools to meet your cooking needs. Gather around the dining room table that seats 6 or relax in the living area to watch the 32” TV with DVD Player and digital cable access. There is a queen sleeper sofa available for guests.

The master bedroom boasts a king size bed, and a 20” TV. The bathroom has a tub/ shower combo. The guest bedroom has 2 twin sized beds and a 32” TV with a DVD player. The guest bathroom has a tub/ shower combo.

Venture out to the private balcony and view the boats entering and leaving the harbor through the east pass or one of the breathtaking sunsets an evening can offer.

Unit 502 Review

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I rent a condo at the Islander 2 to 3 times a year and this is the first time that I rented unit 502. It seemed that this condo is not kept up to the expectations that most guests would expect. The carpet in the living room coming in from the kitchen was coming up from the floor and it was secured with duct tape which wasn’t holding so well. This was a tripping hazard. Also, the paint on the walls in the master bathroom was chipping off the wall. I realize this is a bronze unit but I would expect it to be kept up better than that. We still had a great time and will continue to come to the Islander, but will not rent unit 502 again.

We checked the fridge and cupboards for any leftover food. There was none and the garbage was not the problem. We never did find where it was coming from. All in all it was a pleasant stay and what I was expecting.

Don’t recommend 502

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Smelled like dog pee, caused allergic reaction, miserable to sleep with blanket over my nose because smell was so bad, carpet looks very nasty and needs to be removed, main shower was stopped up and towel rack kept falling on our feet, unable to get more towels, no sheet for pull out couch, pool was very hot and not pleasant to swim in, aside from carpet room seemed to be clean, outside area was clean, good distance to walk to beach, was not able to use small sun shade for kids on their private beach so that sucked, it was lower than the chairs even.

The condo smelled like dogs have been peeing in it for the last year. We are all allergic and I had to try and sleep with a blanket over my face. The even carpet looks bad and should be taken out to get rid of the smell. The main shower was stopped up and the towel rack kept falling down. The pool was really hot and not pleasant to swim in due to that. It was clean and a nice area. The walking distance is easy. We were not allowed to use the sun shade for my kids on the beach. It just sat on the ground and was not a canopy, so I’m not sure why not. There wasn’t a sheet to put on the pull out couch. We also couldn’t get any new towels.

Cozy condo close to the beach

My family enjoyed our stay at the islander. It was our 4th summer there and it never disappoints. The kids have a blast going between the beach and the pool and you can watch them from the balcony. The condo has every utensil you need to prepare a family dinner to minimize spending money on dining out. The parking lot always had spots not too far and luggage carts were readily available for your convenience. We are already planning our trip for next year!

Perfect Place to Stay at the Beach

On the recommendation of a friend, we came to The Islander and were not disappointed! We could see the beach right out of our windows and balcony. The beach sand is white, and due to gated access to the beach, it does not feel overcrowded. There are many shopping opportunities, and there’s a pool,hot tub, tennis and pickle ball courts for recreation. Hope to come back again!

Great vacation

The dishwasher and refrig were older, countertops were outdated and there were no starter packs for the dishwasher, no detergent or sponge to wash the dishes, not a single plastic container to store leftovers, etc., only 1 extra trash bag, no tissues. Had a musty smell. Overall, needs a major update.

relaxing vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our stay in Destin at the Islander Resort in Unit 502! The resort staff took care of all the paperwork and kept in good contact with us about the arrival details. The Unit had everything we needed and the view was wonderful! The kitchen was well equipped although we didn't cook many meals there. The balcony was shaded no matter what time of day you wanted to enjoy it! It was so great to be able to hear the waves from our unit! The bed was very comfortable in the master and since it was only us 2 we didn't use the other bedroom but did use both bathrooms which was nice. It was nice also to have a safe to lock up our valuables. The hot tubs and pools were very nice and warm and the area around them was wonderful! The beach was beautiful white sand and good for walks with gentle waves and dolphin views every day! The chairs and umbrella that were prearranged by the resort was very nice and the attendant Bryson was great with the guests. We had a problem one day with a window that wouldn't close and it was repaired shortly after we called so the staff responded quickly. We did have a problem several times during the week where people were smoking on their balconies ( which is not allowed) and it was unpleasant for us while we were trying to enjoy our balcony. The office was contacted about the problem and was understanding and said they would check into the situation. The fine was $1000. There is a designated smoking area on the property but often times people did not choose to use it and would be in/near the public areas. The unit has carpet which we felt would be better to replace with solid surface flooring of some kind due to it looked worn and for cleanliness and we felt it contributed to a musty smell even after airing out the unit and using febreeze. Overall, we had a wonderful time staying at this resort/unit and will most likely stay again in the future but may try a unit with solid flooring.
