Wonderful few days away to celebrate the new year with friends. House was just what we needed and the scones with clotted cream and jam left by the owners was a lovely touch. With the house just minutes from the beach, the cars were parked up at the start of the break and not used again until we left. Will definitely look to book again for next year.
A wonderful home. We have had a lovely family break, the stay was perfect.
We enjoyed getting to know the local area.
Thank you for getting back to us and answering our questions and for making the first booking through VRBO so easy!
A modern, well-appointed property in a great location.
As an extended family of 9, we found this a comfortable and spacious property which is modern and well-appointed in a great location. The photos do not do the property justice. We will not hesitate to stay again in future.
The house easily accommodates groups, plenty of space and well equipped. The location is brilliant, easy walking distance to beach, town and tidal pool. Easy parking too - always a bonus!
Excellent house for kids and grown ups alike, wonderful provision and thought throughout the house for a full family. Managed to park three cars - 2 in the spots and 1 in the street - easily the whole time. Particularly good that the enclosed garden was secure for toddlers, easy walk to the beach which we did daily. Lovely runs on the coastal path required no driving. All in all would highly recommend.
This is the second time we have stayed in this property, we used to live in the area and know it well, this house is perfect for large groups, plenty of space and facilities for all. The house has everything you would need and more! Central location, close to the shops and beach, great if you have kids!
This home was perfect for our family vacation. They had everything we could’ve wanted and more. Lots of space for family time as well as privacy. We have stayed in a lot of VRBO’s and this was my favorite.
We had a wonderful time here. The house is large and lovely and just as described. Location is perfect, walkable into the town and to the beach. We were a family of all ages and everyone had a great time. Jumping in the car brings near more activities and beaches to explore. Would recommend.
A great property, loads of space, plenty of hot water, great location. Could have been a bit cleaner, doors wiped down and a very dirty cupboard in the kitchen, something been spilt. Coffee machine needed emptying . That sort of thing. Very well stocked kitchen, plenty of utensils, crockery etc.
We were short of 4 towels, contacted the host and they were delivered the next day. We had a really great time, lovely area and very quiet
Beautiful and spacious 3 floor holiday home with 5 bedrooms. Large bathroom on each of the second and third floors with a shower room downstairs. Perfect location for walks on the beach and within walking distance of a good selection of pubs and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book this property again. 5 stars.
We had the best time in this lovely house. The location is perfect and Westward Ho is a great place- our group was aged 3-90 and there was something for everyone. The facilities were great and there was plenty of room. The kitchen /diner is a fab space anc there are plenty of sofas and seating areas to relax. The house was perfect for our family get together celebrating a 90th birthday, 12th twin birthday and a surprise engagement! Thank you to our hosts.
The property was ideal for a multi family stay with varying ages. Bedrooms were lovely and proximity to beach and shops meant everyone could come and go as they pleased. Owners were exceptionally helpful even cleaning the house themselves when we arrived ! Lots to do in the area. Westward Ho is very much a “surf” beach but nearby Instow provides a perfect beach for those with younger children. Good delicatessen in Appledore. Hartland Quay and RHS Rosemoor well worth a visit.
We were a family group of 11 with 3 children and had a great week. The house had everything we needed and had lovely sunny front garden. Lots of beach toys for us to use. Great kitchen with huge table for big family meals and 3 bathrooms meant there were no queues. The house was close to the open area called the Burrows which was next to the beach. Tons to do in north Devon. Reasonable choice of restaurants/ cafes in Westwood Ho! I would recommend for big family group.
a 'Well Appointed' property, good facilities, attractive children's beds.
(lots of TVs) WiFi throughout.
Westward Ho! has a good variety of things to do, and many other things in the area, some inside, if it is wet.
Might not go back, because there are so magy good places in the UK. My granddaughter has already spoken of Cornwall, for next year.
My family (6 adults and 5 children) stayed at Westward Ho!me between 25 May and 1 June 2024.
The house is stylishly decorated, extremely comfortable and very well-equipped. It is and ideally located for the beach at Westward Ho! which is a safe walk across Northam Burrows of a 5-10 minutes.
A plumbing 'challenge' was speedily rectified by the hosts Mark and Sam, even though it occurred over a Bank Holiday weekend.
Our 5 granddaughters loved playing in the sea and 'The Big Sheep', which is a short drive away.
Although there are two designated parking places at the property we managed to comfortably park three medium-sized family cars.
Highly recommended. Graham and Lynn - East Devon
What a well equipped, comfortable welcoming property. Location walkable over the burrows to the beach with a surf board or the kids with their buckets and spades. The house has ample space and different areas to relax. Big dinner table to get all 12 of us around.
Bedrooms comfy and homely. Kids were excited by the Bus bunk beds and the Teepee. Lots of jigsaws and things for the kids to do.
Cooker brilliant for feeding a large group, plenty of pans & equipment which I’ve often found a problem in other places we’ve stayed.
Good powerful showers, comfortable chairs.. Amazed how clean the house was and knew the carpet is up the stairs and landing.
We got a Range Rover in the parking drive opposite and a people carrier up on the curb outside.
Communication with Sam & Mark via the app was very quick and they went out of their way to solve a problem we had. Very smooth stay so a huge thank you to them! We would definitely stay here again.
Plenty of room and well equipped for our mixed generation family group. Garden certainly a bonus, it is suitably fenced for children, including a high gate latch. All conducive to a relaxing stay. We had a fabulous time.
We had an excellent time. Property is large and well equipped, with ample space for the 11 of us. Very comfortable and the garden was great in the good weather. Short walk to the beach meant we could make the most of the different tides (morning swims at high tide, afternoon castles at low). And being able to walk to shops and restaurants as well made things very relaxed. Good communication with host - highly recommend property.
Six adults, three children and a dog stayed here for a week. The house was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. It was a short walk to the beach, across the nature reserve - it is excellent for swimming and body boarding and also kite flying. We walked into town on several occasions to eat at the local restaurants and to enjoy ice creams on the prom. We would definitely recommend this property for a great holiday.
This was our second stay at Westward Ho!me. The house is beautifully decorated, spacious and very well equipped. Sam and Mark are wonderful hosts and have listened to comments from other reviews and have made some improvements since last year, including the provision of comfy sun loungers. We love, love, love this property and wish it was our own holiday home- I’m sure we will be back again next year!
