The villa is located within the exclusive St James's Club Resort which is situated on the south-eastern coast of Antigua where you can enjoy all of the available facilities, including tennis, kayaking, windsurfing and paddle boarding. There are 4 seafront restaurants, a beach bar and grill as well as 3 other bars. There is also a well organised kids club (currently closed in line with Covid 19 guidelines) providing excellent activities for children of all ages, as well as a spa which offers a good range of treatments.

The fully furnished two bedroom, two bathroom villa has a king size master bedroom with ensuite comprising of a bath and shower, with large patio doors opening onto the terrace offering beautiful beach and sea views and a bright and airy large twin room with ensuite shower room. Both bedrooms have TV's, air conditioning as well as cooling ceiling fans.

The modern kitchen provides a hob and microwave as well as a fridge freezer. There is also a coffee maker and juicer for your use.

The spacious lounge area provides comfortable seating with a TV and air conditioning and patio doors leading out to the sun terrace.

For inside dining there is a dining table which can accommodate 6 persons, for al fresco dining there is a smaller table with 4 chairs provided on the terrace along with two sun loungers. There is also a charcoal barbecue for your use.

The location of this villa is what makes it so very appealing, it leads directly onto the beach and you are within a stone's throw of the beautiful clear blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. From sunrise to sunset you will enjoy fabulous views over the bay.

The St James's Club Resort offer an All Inclusive package which includes all meals and beverages which can be arranged either before you go or on arrival (minimum of 3 consecutive days) or you can choose to charge these to your account as you go. The resort also offers a housekeeping service which again can be arranged for you. You can of course opt for a self-catering holiday with many restaurants located in the nearby English Harbour which is a short taxi ride away.

Housekeeping is available up to two times per week, charged at $45 per visit and there is a departure clean charge of $90

Please note there is a mandatory resort fee payable of $24 per night per villa which is payable locally at the resort on arrival.

Disappointing

House keys unavailable previous clients took them. Safe inoperable no one to help with problems onsite. Villa poor condition no WiFi through out the 3 week stay. Patio dirty and half flooded.

All about location

This was not our first stay at St James but was our first stay at this property. The location is ideal. The fixtures and fittings in the house are more than adequate, especially if you are doing the all inclusive (which we weren’t) but they are a bit tired. I would definitely stay here again though.

Villa May St James Beach Club

The villa is lovely. Two very large ensuite air conditioned bedrooms. Walk directly onto a wonderful sandy beach. St James beach club itself is beautifully manicured and provides a wide choice of bars and restaurants. English Harbour is a short drive away which has lively bars and excellent restaurants. Alternative beautiful beaches and fabulous beach bar restaurants are also only a short drive. Things to be aware of: firstly the wifi in the villa does not work at all. Nor in the adjacent villas, this appears to be a site problem and not something the owners of this villa can solve at the moment. The villa receives good 4G coverage which can be used to access the internet, but it rinses through your data and it's very expensive to top up if not done in advance. The coffee shop and the reception bar do have good wifi coverage. Secondly the villa kitchen is poorly stocked. It does not have an oven and has very few cooking utensils. These are minor points on what is otherwise a super villa in a fantastic location but forewarned is forearmed.

Nice place

The villas was very spacious and comfortable. I did have to do some cleaning in the kitchen. The bottom cupboards had lots of coffee/tea dripping down them and all cupboards had food stuck on them, otherwise the rest of the villa was fine. The resort is beautiful. Unfortunately we were unable to go into the bay nor the ocean due to an influx of sargassum sea weed, which made the water toxic. The staff are not very pleasant but they do their job.

Necessities needed and inaccurate information

Check in was seamless. Villa lacked multiple necessities. No mop, no dish liquid, no dish rag/sponge, one set of towel per person for an entire week (no washing facility available), one single knife (steak knife), no cleaning products, no paper towel, no kitchen towel, no iron, no ironing board, one trash bag in kitchen bin, no trash bag in bathroom bins, and no rugs/mats at doors in/out of villa. Concierge and front desk called daily and multiple times to request. I was told that maid service would bring the missing items. On day four of our stay, called again. Finally told that since we rented via the owner, St James does not provide anything in the villa. WOW, why couldn’t the others relay the same information. NOTE: You’re not going to get the same or similar responses to your questions posed to the staff. You basically have to figure things out yourself. Location - At least 30-40 minutes drive from activities and areas outside of English Harbour location. Transportation is a necessity Property, activities, and beach - 5/5 stars

Piece of Paradise

Place was just fantastic, steps to the water which was crystal clear. Great place to explore all the beaches on the island, and the snorkeling trip on the calypso Cat is a must as well as stingray city. Lucy was just fantastic at answering all questions and giving great recommendations of restaurants and things to do. Memories made for my kids forever!

PERFECT in every way!

We had an absolutely amazing stay in this Villa! The location is top notch, right on the sand and steps from the calm bay waters. It was exactly as described. The unit was clean and well equipped with everything we needed for an 8 night stay. We opted out of the all-inclusive so we used the kitchen quite a bit for meals. Everything worked great and we had all the supplies needed to cook simple breakfasts and lunches (we had a car and ate out for most dinner - English Harbour is only a 10min drive!). The unit has 2 bedrooms with their own bathrooms and that was so perfect because we had 2 sixteen year old boys with us. Everyone was able to have their own bed, space and bathroom! We opted to only have the cleaning service 1 time during the stay and that worked out well. They were fabulous! The resort is gated and safe and they teens were able to roam freely (although, we found the whole island to be safe and friendly). The water sports were a huge hit as well as the tennis, pool tables and gym. Lucy was a superb host!! She was very quick to answer any questions we had prior to the trip as well as a few during. Easy to communicate with and very friendly! We can’t wait to come back to Antigua very soon.

Beautiful location

As always St. James Club delivered an exceptional stay. The property was nice. It was our 2nd visit to this resort but 1st time in this villa. A few notes for improvement: Master bathroom is quite dated and could use a makeover. The bottom of the bathtub was squishy. The kitchen is minimally equipped and could use a few more basics for cooking - a cookie sheet (I had wanted to make Christmas cookies over our stay), scissors. The villa is located next to a main path down so there were frequent guests walking by and with less mature greenery it really lost some privacy on the patio. There was an awesome selection of DVDs (though we could not get the player to work but guessing this was user error and we are on a beautiful beach so why watch shows!). Proximity to the beach was perfect and it was right in the middle between the beach bar and the beach rental area. We loved it!

2022 family Antigua holiday!

We had a fantastic stay at Villa may this jan/Feb. the host was very helpful and organized a cot for our 20 month old. The location couldn’t have been better a short walk to all restaurants and right in the middle of the best beach! It couldn’t have been a better stay! Can’t wait to return next year!

Fantastic beach front villa with a lovely host- Highly recommend!

The villa was absolutely perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers). We checked in at the St James Club reception and were given the keys to our villa. The villa is beach front and central within the resort- it was very well presented, super clean, spacious and well furnished with modern decor throughout. There are two big bedrooms (with air-con) both with ensuites and bath/hand towels and beach towels are provided. Good sized kitchen with microwave, cooking utensils, dishes. cutlery etc. We prefer to eat out rather than go all inclusive in resorts and this was the perfect balance where we could sort out our own lunches and then head out in the evenings or order takeaway to eat in as well. There are two grocery stores approx 10 mins drive away which was handy. We really enjoyed the resort amenities and used the tennis courts and water sports, all included as part of your stay. We hired our own car from the airport and could park easily every day and there are taxis available in the resort for those who prefer not to drive. The resort is lovely, well established and we enjoyed walking around the resort each day and the staff were all so friendly. We explored the whole island and it was a great base, close to the restaurants in English Harbour and Falmouth Harbour. Lucy is a fantastic host, answering all our questions quickly prior to booking and ensuring all the booking details were correct prior to our arrival to ensure a smooth check-in. Brilliant holiday made easier by an attentive host! We hope to visit again in the future!

Perfect beach front property!

We could not have been more happy with our stay at the Villa on the St. James Resort in Antigua. We had originally booked at another resort but due to negative reviews, we changed plans at the last minute. The reservation process was super easy. Each morning, we walked out right on to the beach which is literally right out the back door. Plenty of room for our family of four. Super clean and spacious. Everything was perfect and as described. We would definitely recommend if you are going to Antigua. You can choose to eat all of your meals at the resort or hit a local grocery store and take care of yourself, or do both. Thank you Lucy for making our trip GREAT!!
