Location
The most striking thing about this beautiful property? The stillness. Yet, not quite still, as you stand on top of the hill, overlooking the fields, towns and country roads, there is a slight rustling of leaves, the gentle but constant breeze that blows, that makes the climate truly perfect. A place to relax and look around. The trullo is a wonderfully historical type of building, unique to Puglia in the south of Italy and protected by UNESCO as a world heritage site. Originally used in the nineteenth century by local farmers as homes or as a place of storage and shelter, they are characterised by conical-shaped roofs and thick stone walls. Converted groups of trulli have now become an original and luxurious alternative to hotels or ordinary villas.
Description
Trullo l'Oasi has undergone an extensive multimillion euro makeover with the main purpose of keeping the trulli main structure intact. All of the work has been developed with careful attention to the environment, with a solar thermal implant installed which heats the water for the heating system, bathrooms, kitchens and swimming pool. The trullo is an historical and distinctive type of building unique to Puglia and all the changes made have been integrated into the traditional local style with a modern realisation. Almost uniquely in architecture, the trullo represents the three most important ancient symbols: the triangle, the circle and the shaft, or axis, also used in subliminal psychology and hypnotic therapy to help restore a sense of wellbeing to the individual. This magical construction, will give you calmness, a sense of serenity and a change of energy that you will never have felt before. The main trullo with adjacent building, recently renovated, contains cool, comfortable bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a beautiful brand new kitchen, dining room with space for up 14 people and a spacious living area – it has so many sofas, TVs and living rooms that its easy to lose count, not to mention vast spaces outside to roam through. Then, just below the trullo building and the swimming pool is a four bedroom annex, each room with an en-suite shower and WC – Close enough for comfort, far enough away for a little bit of privacy and with a spectacular few of the hills. Together the main trullo and annex sleep 12 people in 6 bedrooms, all with TV and with extra beds available for young children. All rooms are air conditioned and Wi-Fi is available throughout. The pool is 16x8m and with a Jacuzzi feature and the shallow end and heating available, is perfect for a relaxing swim in the tranquillity of the sloping hills of the Itrian Valley, with plenty of lounging space for sunbathing, relaxing and watching the world go by. The grounds of this building total 17 acres, with olive groves and vegetable patches, carefully cultivated gardens and woodland all waiting to be explored.
