About this property

Twin Room Deluxe Garden @ Wayside

A spacious twin bedroom with high beamed ceilings, two black iron single beds, fresh cotton bedding, original features, cast iron radiators and good quality furnishings. You can enjoy the view over Black Combe in comfort whilst relaxing on the oak window seat, the view is beautiful, especially when the sun sets. The small window at the top of the room lets light in from the sun, which then radiates an orange glow throughout the room. The colour television is fixed to the wall for easy viewing, there is a hairdryer, broadband access and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The ensuite bathroom has a shower over the bath.

Prices are fully inclusive of breakfast.

We regret that we cannot accept dogs in this room; if you would like to bring yours with you please book 'Windermere, the Annexe.
Welcome to The Wayside and Whisky Barn. Wayside Farm was built in approximately 1637 on the west coast of the Lake District, Cumbria.

The Wayside and Whisky Barn is situated at the base of Black Combe, surrounded by stunning scenery and the Cumbrian coast.

It is the perfect location for a relaxing weekend away or for the more adventurous we provide an excellent base for walking, biking, sea kayaking, wind surfing, kite surfing, we have fantastic horse riding, or if you are touring around the south west coast on motorbikes.

We are an ideal place to stay overnight, with secure parking, and after an exciting day out, why not relax with a cold glass of beer, or a pint of cold draught Peroni, good food or a warming single malt whisky, if you try one and really like it you could purchase a bottle from our whisky barn to take home with you.

In summer we have an outdoor area with picnic benches where you can enjoy the views of Black Combe and totally relax.

The accommodation has been carefully and tastefully renovated from a disused derelict barn and has kept many of its original features. All four bedrooms are decorated individually, have good quality furnishings and are all ensuite. If you enjoy the outdoor life and walking then Black Combe is located directly behind the hotel with easy access.

At The Wayside we believe a healthy body, is healthy mind. The gym @Millstones in Bootle holds state-of-the art equipment and short drive from The Wayside. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and our guests can have an access by paying a small deposit. A personal trainer can be arranged if booked in advance.

Free Wifi with ultra-fast Internet access is available across all rooms.

The hotel has secure storage, ideal for bikes, canoes and other equipment.

One well-behaved dog (two if they are of a small breed) is welcome in Windermere (the Annex). They are also welcome in the bar and restaurant.

Very spolit! Exceeded expectations.
Emiko was friendly and helpful through the booking process and it continued through our stay. The Wayside Inn is beautifully decorated with lots of original features and was immaculate. Everything is to such a high standard. We opted to eat in and the food was delicious! The Whisky bar had an impressive array, matched only by Emiko's intimate knowledge of them all - she was able to advise about flavour profiles and knew all about the distilleries. A wonderful stay!

We were very surprised by the beautiful rooms, we stayed in the large double, which was spotless. The attention to detail was great with everything to hand. there was plenty of choice on the tea tray with plenty of supplies of milk etc. the bathroom had a lovely bath which my husband loved. Complimentary toiletries were great. Overall we loved it.

Fantastic stay in warm and welcoming boutique hotel
Can't rate the Wayside highly enough. Emiko was so warm and friendly and genuinely interested in us and what our plans were for the 2 nights in the Lakes. Everything in the hotel is very well considered and of a very high standard. Our room and bathroom was absolutely spotless and had everything we needed for a great stay. Very comfortable beds, pillows, sheet and again, everything in the room was a very high standard. Breakfast was delicious, locally sourced and the very best quality.

Lovely place in a beautiful surrounding with superbe service and comfort into the last detail
The Roadside is a hidden gem that somehow does its magic to make you feel completely relaxed from the moment you step in. That is because of the beautifully restored old barn you’re staying, giving it a special cosy atmosphere. Then you find out that literally all details have been taken care off, from the two pillows on the bed (one soft, one a bit harder), to the quality bed linen. And most of all it’s the high level of service and personal care offered by Emiko and her team.
