About this property

Relax and enjoy a small family reunion, weekend getaway, wine tasting. Large gatherings will be considered but will incur an additional fee, please inquire with us about your event.

Backyard amenities include built in swimming pool with slide and solar heating, hot tub, cabana, two outdoor fire pit/fireplace, zip line, lighted bocce court, trampoline and vegetable garden. Our home is casual, but you will feel comfortable and cozy. The layout of the home and yard make for an enjoyable visit with family or friends.

Brentwood is known for its U-Pick farms and is the corn capital west of the Rockies, 1 mile from Hannah Nicole Winery, 1 hour from San Francisco, 1 hour from Napa, 1/2 hour from Livermore wine country, 7 miles to boat access in Discovery Bay, CA.

Gas BBQ, 14,000 sq. feet of grass.

We do have a dog on site- Border Collie named "J" - Someone will come by daily to give her fresh water and food but done so without interference to your stay - she is about 14 years old and kept in her pen...she is sweet and loves to play, feel free to let her out.

We also ask that you please do not smoke in the house. We are non-smokers and prefer that you stay outside if you choose to. Thank you for being considerate of this request.

Perfect Family Getaway

This is my family's 2nd time staying at John and Paula's home! (See Valene W's review from July 2021). Can I just say ditto to everyone's reviews? Everything and more for a family vacation to feel like you're home away from home. Cannot express enough how kind and attentive Paula is during all aspects of the trip. From the booking, to the time leading up to the trip, during our stay, and any follow ups. As of the writing of this review, the photos are actually not up to date... there is a renovated kitchen and bathrooms! This home is top notch and I cannot thank the Mix Family enough for sharing it with us. Thank you!

Ideal summer rental for a family group.

Terrific property. So much to do: beautiful pool with slide and many pool floats, great trampoline, lovely shaded patio with tables for outdoor meals, beautiful spacious lawn area with ping pong table, volleyball net, bocce ball court and even a zip line. this is a our second time here and we loved it! Ideal for a large family group like ours with adults and children of different ages.

Amazing Property for Entertainment

This home is beautiful and perfect for a group get together for a special occasion or just to get away and relax! The pictures didn’t do it justice, just breathtaking and well maintained! We enjoyed the hot tub and pool and being outdoors soaking in all the greenery! I highly recommend!

Fantastic stay

We spent Labor Day weekend here and had a blast. Plenty of space for our group to spread out and lots of activities on the property. We brought coolers thinking fridge space might be an issue but ended up not needing them because there are two mini fridges outside. J the dog is super friendly and playful. Everyone loved having her around. She is afraid of fire/barks at fires (at least she was for us) so you may need to put her up when you build a campfire. The pool is great. Kitchen is great. Very private oasis feeling. Owners were very communicative and accommodating throughout the stay. We even had fresh veggies from the garden. Trampoline is a blast. One of the bathrooms is only accessible via the master bedroom so make sure (if you have a large group) that whoever is in the master is cool with people coming through. Overall wonderful property — we will definitely be back at some point.

SO MUCH FUN

We spent our sons 10th birthday here and it was so much fun. The property is amazing and there was no reason to leave for anything. The kids and adults had a blast in the beautiful pool, trampoline, bocce ball court, and zip line. The house was very clean and the beds were beyond comfortable. The communication was great. We are already planning our trip back!

Under promise over deliver!

I have to say this place looked just ok in the pictures but the reviews were so good I decided to go for it! It was so much nicer in person! Kitchen and bathrooms looked to be remodeled. There were so many amenities; pool, hot tub, water slide, zip line, bocce court. A sweet property dog that we hung with the whole time which is optional if you are staying there. Well stocked kitchen, winery 2 min down the road, town 5 min up the road. Would definitely rent again!

Magical.

As soon as we arrived we immediately regretted not booking a longer stay. Now we’re scheming on how soon we can go back! There’s tons to do on the property, no reason to leave at all! Super thoughtful touches throughout including a very warm welcome. Clean and well stocked. Easy check out instructions. And sweet J the dog brought us so much joy! Perfect Family Getaway!

This was the perfect place for my extended family to have a mini vacation together, especially during this time with covid. The property had everything we needed to enjoy our time together, so we didn’t have to worry about having a vacation in crowded venues like theme parks or beaches. There’s so much land behind the house, and so many fun things to do! Our parents enjoyed taking 1-2 mile walks early in the morning on and around the property. The kids loved jumping on the trampoline, playing bocce ball, and of course swimming in the pool. The pool and jacuzzi were clean and very well kept, and our kids (ages 6-11) LOVED swimming everyday we were there. We even did s’mores at the campfire one night, which was already set up perfectly with wood for us by the owners. The house was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed to make home cooked meals. It’s also very close to downtown Brentwood if you need to get groceries or want to eat at restaurants. The owners, Paula and John, were very responsive and quick to answer any questions I had (both before our stay and during). Also, they gave us delicious fruit and veggies grown right on the property. I can’t say enough good things about this rental! On our last day there my 6 year old son asked me when we could come back. This place is definitely at the top of my list for vacation home rentals!

Fantastic family vacation spot

We just got back from a great little family vacation here. It was far enough away that it felt like a vacation, but close enough that it wasn't a hassle to get to. Most of our time was spent in the pool since it was 100 degrees when we were there, but we also had fun with the zipline, bocce, trampoline, and badminton outside of the hottest hours. The cabana by the pool was perfect for lunch and watching the Olympics. The kitchen and outdoor grill had everything we needed. The air conditioning and the ceiling fans kept it pleasant inside in spite of the heat outside. Thoughtful touches throughout. Highly recommend this place.

Best birthday ever! (Said my daughter)

This place deserves more than 5 stars! Paula and John are some of the nicest people I've met. I have to agree with some of the reviews I've read and say that the pictures does no justice to this place. The pool was the main attraction for us and the Zipline was really fun! Definitely need more than 2 nights here! Sooooo much to do and and sooo much fun for all ages!

Fantastic property!

What a fun trip! The property is insane! Water slide, bocce balls, zip line, pool and more. We didn’t quite know what to expect because the photos are a little unassuming but the reviews sold us. We were very happy with the house,property and hospitality. The kitchen was stocked with all the spices, oils and cooking utensils that you could need. Really nice stuff too! There were modern appliances and it was very easy and fun to cook in. The bathrooms seem to have been newly remodeled with new appliances very clean and great water pressure. Beds were comfy and they were plenty of towels. So many thoughtful touches throughout the whole property including the fridges outside along with the sound system and the chairs and umbrella to put in the pool. 10 out of 10 would stay there again!

A little slice of paradise!

We just had a fantastic, albeit way too short, visit to this beautiful Brentwood home! This was actually our second visit to this property and we are already discussing when we can return. Over this difficult pandemic year+, my family has stayed at several vacation rentals as a safe way to have a change of scenery from so much time at home. This property is, hands down, our very favorite and the only one we loved enough to return to. The house itself is very clean and comfortable. The lovely kitchen is very well stocked and the beds are very comfortable! Stepping into the backyard is like stepping into paradise. The pool is so sparkly and inviting! Our kids (and a couple of the adults) could not get enough of the waterslide! The shady cabana is a perfect retreat for those taking a relaxing break poolside. Music from the sound system filled the air while we played volleyball on the huge grassy area, tested out the zip line, jumped on the trampoline, played on the bocce court, sat by the fire pit, and ate dinner on the patio. We never left the property except for a couple trips to the nearby grocery store. The owners are so accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the property to the fullest!! Five star experience, for sure!! As easy as it is to give this property a glowing review, I will admit that I hesitated as I don’t want it to not be available next time we are ready to visit 🤣!! Thank you, Paula and John, for a wonderful getaway! We’ll be back again!! Soon, I hope!

A perfect family stay!

Who knew a stay in Brentwood California could be so special? We loved the location (hot and sunny in the afternoons, cool in the evening and night). The house and grounds were wonderful! We played bocce ball in the cool of the evening, played volleyball in the cool of the morning. All day long the kids (and adults) would end up on the trampoline. But the pool area was the big draw-- big enough to really swim in it, the slide was so much fun, the deep end perfect for jumping and the shallow end ideal for the toddler. Also plenty of shade in the cabana for cooling off. Loved the expanse of lawns for lots of playing. We ate all our meals outside on the shaded patio. We only left the property to pick peaches at a local farm. Many thanks to our gracious hosts!

WAY better than Disneyland

This was amazing in every sense of the word! Gorgeous, sparkling clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Paula provided lovely details to make us feel very welcomed. Our party was two families with small children, including a baby. The property feels very safe for children, set far from roads and hazards. Plenty of entertainment for the kids all day, and very comfortable seating all around the pool to watch them. The pool cover is secure around the edges, so I felt safe with the kids running around outside when it was covered. We ziplined, bocce'ed, napped, played tiddlywinks. At night, we did s'mores at the awesome fire pit. Since we were far from neighbors, we played music and did our Disney Rain Dance to summon rain to CA. J is the most amazing dog we have ever met. She is incredibly well trained, polite, and happy to lounge around discussing literature and philosophy. I can't say I agree with all of her views on Proust, but I rarely find anyone with whom I do. I hate to say so many good things about this property, because we want to return, and often. So, be aware that this place is amazing, and don't book the dates we want.

Best kept secret

This home is the best kept secret! We had the time of our lives, basically living poolside in the cabana everyday. The property has lovely trees and a grassy area, zip line and bocce court, hot tub, patio- what’s not to love? Did I mention the pool slide? Plenty of room inside for lounging and cooking too. The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful, not to mention so sweet to greet us with wine and cookies! We’re already planning our next trip back.

The pictures try to capture what this place offers, but that's pretty hard to do. The owners are communicative, thoughtful, and accommodating. The house is well-appointed, well-stocked, and well-maintained. The back yard is simply amazing. Multiple sitting areas, umbrellas, cabana, pool, waterslide, hot tub, trampoline, bocce, and a zip line. And that is only the stuff we used. Our family had a great time; we would definitely stay again.

More than we expected!

We were so happy to find this property for our weekend get away with our 4 children (2 teens, 2 kids)! It was much more than we expected!!! The landscaping is beautiful, the backyard is an absolute paradise and the house had everything we needed & more (We were shocked at how well the kitchen was stocked)! The only negative were the sunburns the kids brought home as souvenirs (our plan to keep them busy...worked). We fully enjoyed every minute and hope to be back again! We can’t thank the Mix family enough for sharing their amazing property with us...the memories will be cherished!

It's like a resort!

You really have to see this place in person.... the photos don't do it justice. Acres of manicured lawns, roses blooming everywhere, vegetable garden and orchard... huge pool with water slide AND SHADE, which is rare. The cabana is as large as a living room with big-screen TV.... and there are three more big screens in the house. We were too chicken to try to zip line, but we had fun playing bocce ball on their regulation court. Your kids could even play soccer! The hot tub would accommodate an army. The kitchen was very well stocked. Nice views from all the bedrooms. You can't see another house ANYWHERE on this property! We were six old lady tennis players competing at Diamond Hills, a 15-minute drive. There are two wineries nearby, although we were having so much fun at the house, we didn't go there. Each of us had our own room, except two shared the huge master bedroom, which was big enough for two king/queen beds. The dog, J, has her own large pen out of sight, but once we let her out to play, we never put her back until we left the house. She will keep you entertained, tossing the ball to you in the pool to encourage you to throw it. I hesitate to write anymore, because if we ever come back to Diamond Hills for another tournament, we don't want this place to be booked by somebody else! Kirstie Wilde

Private 10 Acre parcel allows you to feel like you are truly on a remote trip with all the amenities of good time. One hour drive from San Francisco and one hour away from the Napa/Sonoma area. 30 min from Livermore and 8 miles to Discovery Bay boat launch.
Old town Brentwood has a farmer's market on Saturday mornings and also craft beer and wine venues to choose from. Hannah Nicole Vineyard is 1 mile from home for a nice afternoon off the property, although my yard is prettier than theirs (lol).
