About this property

Twin Room 4 at the Old Crown Hotel

A comfortable twin bedroom, with a sink in the room & a communal shared bathroom.
The Old Crown is a striking building, rich in history and character and is one of a few remaining examples of Birmingham's medieval past. The building is a Grade II listed building and was built circa 1368. It is believed that every room has a tale to tell and it is said that the Old Crown is haunted by not one but two ghosts! Ask our staff for some of the building's spooky tales.

The Old Crown is located only half a mile from the city centre, making it perfect for anyone travelling for work, wanting to visit the Bullring (our proud shopping complex), see our sights or just for a break. There are good transport links with buses and trains running in the local area.

Although we do not have on-site parking, there are a number of local car parks (2 located on the High Street, visible from the hotel), feel free to enquire with us for more details or directions. We are located in the heart of Digbeth, which is a lively area filled with culture and a hospitable community.

The Old Crown is well known for it's events, such as Oktoberfest, 12 Weeks of Summer, takeovers and many more. Due to the fact the building is Grade II listed, some noise does travel around the building from our garden, and the surrounding roads. However, if you are looking for somewhere steeped in history and character, The Old Crown is the perfect place.

We have a kitchen on-site providing freshly made food and pub classics.

Excellent value, characterful accommodation.

We were attending a music festival in Digbeth, and chose the Old Crown as it is probably the most conveniently located accommodation for this event.

A bit of Olde England in Brum

A pub within a stone's throw of Birmingham centre but like stepping back to stay in an Elizabethan manor. Good value & free parking, rooms were clean. No ensuite told the planning authorities won't allow them (listed building). Shared bathroom was clean and modern.

Central accommodation for the right price

I chose this hotel due to its close proximity to the Coach Station (0.3 miles) as we were going to Aintree for the Grand National Festival, as well as free overnight parking. The bar has a wide selection of drinks, as well as a large beer garden out the side. Breakfast for a fiver in the morning was very tasty. We stayed in a twin room with a small wardrobe and a wash basin.

Overnight stay at the Old Crown in Digbeth

We chose stay overnight at the Old Crown as we had booked the Peaky Blinders Tour with Carl Chin. This was very convenient but also great value for money. Friendly, helpful & polite staff. Breakfast and service provided was perfect. Will be booking again for next time we stay in Birmingham. Thanks to all.

I was very satisfied with my stay at the hotel on this evening, the late night music was too loud

Considering it was a last minute booking, I was very pleased to find accommodation so close to the centre so reasonably priced. All of the staff were extremely helpful, especially the assistance in how to get where I was going in town after my stay. I was especially pleased to know that it was such an historical building that maintained its exterior appearance. As a visitor to the city, it's nice to feel welcome by both other patrons and the staff...overall a most enjoyable visit
