Venturing to the NE, you'll find Bellaire, or to the west is Elk Rapids and Traverse City. These areas offer quaint and unique shops and dining options. Sample award-winning craft beers at Short's Brewery in Bellaire or Elk Rapids or check out some locally distilled liquor at Mammoth Distillery's tasting room in Bellaire. If you are looking for some fun day trips, try the Sleeping Bear Dunes in Empire or Mackinaw City and Mackinaw Island. Both are a little over an hour away and are fun excursions for the young and old!
