About this property

Carncairn Grange lovely house

Carncairn Grange is a lovely house set in its own grounds surrounded by trees. It has stunning views over a wooded landscape and is completely private. Located only half a mile from Broughshane it is only 20 minutes from Belfast International Airport and ideally placed to explore the Antrim coastline and glens as well as the rest of Northern Ireland. The House can accommodate 7 guests and is a separate house of Georgian aspect in its own grounds about 200m from the main house, 200 square Meters in size, so there is plenty of space for everyone. It has 4 bedrooms, a twin, two doubles and a single. In addition it has a large kitchen, three hallways, a living room and a conservatoy, there is even an AGA in the Kitchen which can be lit if you want a gastronomic escape. Outside there is plenty of space with a garage and wood/barbecue store and lawns on either side and at the front. It looks out over fields surrounded by mature woodland and over to the hills in the near distance. Both properties are surrounded by stunning gardens and landscape for a rural getaway as well as being set in a beautiful landscape. There is lots to do in the local area whether it is climbing the local mountain Slemish, where St Patrick tended sheep or fishing on the river, walking or cycling. Broughshane is a pretty little town only half a mile away with plenty of coffee shops and plenty of other shops to meet your requirements. Further afield are the Glens and famous Coast road and Glenarm Castle only 20 mins away. Belfast to the south for the Titanic Museum or Portrush to the north for Golf or the Gians Causeway only 40 minutes away.
we have two separate rentals, the west wing sleeps 2 and is a completely self contained private wing of carncairn (I regret we do not allow pets or children in the wing.) The grange sleeps 7 and is a bungalow about 200m from carncairn lodge, an old georgian house dating from around 1800 which is secluded and private, set in the braid valley not far from the river and surrounded by beautiful mature woodlands with extensive gardens..
1. carncairn west wing sleeps a single person or couple, has a kitchen/dining area downstairs and a living room, double bedroom and bathroom upstairs with smart tv's upstairs and down and good wifi. it is a spacious, 53sqm in size and has exclusive use of the side lawn. we encourage guests to wander around the gardens. parking is free.

2. carncairn grange, which is suitable for 7 guests is a separate house about 200m from the main house, 200sqm in size, so there is lots of space. we welcome pets and children to the grange. It has 4 bedrooms, a twin, two doubles and a single. in addition it has a large kitchen, three hallways, a living room and a conservatoy, there is even an aga in the kitchen which can be lit if you want a gastronomic escape. There is a garage and wood/barbecue store, also lots of space outside with lawns on either side and at the front. Beautiful Place, comfortable stay, and we will be staying again
out of every property we stayed in, this was our favourite, not because it was the most beautiful but because we felt the most comfortable and at home. The home is warm and spacious, the hosts are generous and responsive, if only everywhere we stayed was like this. In fact out of our entire 3 weeks in the UK, this would be the only house we would love to go back to. We really loved it and although by no means the most beautifully decorated home, it was the most enjoyable place we stayed at. Beautiful and kind hosts make all the difference and these guys are superb.

Ireland Stay in Carncairn
The location of this house is ideal being just outside of a nice village, with room to stretch out. My parents were with us, and the house worked well with their mobility limitations. The Thatch Inn was friendly and had nice food, and the village had all the shops for our basic needs. It's an easy drive to Giants Causeway and Belfast. Out host was friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this place.

Lovely cosy Grange
We really enjoyed our stay, the Grange has a cosy cottage feel & it is extremely tranquil & relaxing. We have family in the area so know it well. Hosts were welcoming & solved our few little hiccups very quickly. Fabulous also to be able to wander around the whole estate freely. Quick drive to Broughshane village with local shops. Just lovely thanks!

Hi, we are Pam and Richard, we moved into Carncairn ( Richard's parents house) in 1992 when Richard's parents found it too big and decided move out. We only started self catering in 2017 almost by accident after Richard's mother passed away. She had been living in a wing of the house which we had converted for her. After some thought we decided to let it out for self catering as The West Wing and in 2019 added Carncairn Grange, a separate bungalow 200m away. We are well away from the road and all seem to love the rural tranquility, the beautiful gardens and the many things to do in the local area as well as the ease in getting to Belfast and the North Coast which are all less than 45 minutes away. Pam's passion is the garden and we have spent the last 30 years developing the gardens including a large walled garden with a greenhouse as well as bringing up our 3 boys. We enjoy meeting our guests but appreciate that most of them come to stay for weddings, exploring, seeing family or just getting away and pick us for the tranquility and secluded nature of the property so after meeting on arrival we respect your privacy unless you wish or need to contact us.
