Monemvassia: Byzantine city, about 2 hours drive (Leonidio monastery Elona-Kosmas or Leonidio-Poulithra-Peleta). Only an additional half hour drive from Monemvassia,on the island of Elafonissos (5min with ferry boat from the coast, excellent lobster with pasta) you can swim at the beach of Simos (one of the top 5 in Greece). If you decide for such a tour, please visit Monemvassia after 18.00, on the way back from Elafonissos, because it is very hot during the day.

Mykäne: the ruins of the Kingdom of Agamemnon
Tour of Parnonas: turn left in Agios Andreas, the road leads to the picturesque villages Kastanitsa, Sitaina and Agios Petros. Visit the waterfall of Louloungas (in Sitaina, the path starts from the square of the village) and the canyon Mazia (before Kastanitsa on the main road). Excellent trekking opportunities in 1000m altitude between pine, chestnut and walnut trees.
Shipping to Hydra Spetses: during the summer months there is on Wednesdays a day trip to the historic islands Hydra and Spetses. Departure 09.00 from the port of Tyros, return at 19.00, information and tickets are available at the Hotel Apollo on the coast of Tyros. (Cost 30 E/p.p.)
Mystras: Byzantine town 5 km from Sparta
Dyros Areopolis: a fascinating stalactite cave with an underground lake, you will be taken by boat. A miracle of nature. In the village Limeni (very close to Areopolis) you can visit the fish tavern Takis, for many people the best fish tavern in Greece.
