About this property
OVERVIEW COTTAGE - sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms
A sophisticated sea-view cottage near Bamburgh that oozes boutique country house hotel style.
A contemporary country cottage with sweeping coastal views
As fresh as a daisy following an extensive renovation, Overview Cottage is the hottest new holiday home arrival here in Northumberland. Set in enclosed gardens and boasting far-reaching coastal views, the former byre offers the very best of contemporary rural living with a stylish country kitchen, wood burner-warmed sitting room and three generous bedrooms.
Evoking the style of a boutique country house hotel, Overview Cottage boasts sophisticated interiors, indulgent king-size beds and spacious, well-appointed bathrooms. The light-filled vaulted kitchen leads out into the rear garden and is equipped with top-end kit like a five-hob, three-oven Smeg range cooker and Nespresso machine. The large timber kitchen table calls out for lazy family breakfasts while the sunny window seat is the perfect spot for tranquil moments snatched to read the morning paper.
Overview Cottage enjoys a rural setting with the added bonus of being a short hop from Northumberland’s beautiful Heritage Coastline – the white sand stretches of Bamburgh, Cheswick and Ross Back Sands are all within 15 minutes’ drive. That said, you don’t even need to leave the garden (or your bed if you’ve snaffled the master bedroom) to enjoy mesmerising views of the Holy Island of Lindisfarne and the Farne Islands.
While you’re not relaxing in your home from home or entertaining the dogs and family on the beach, you can explore the historic coastal village of Bamburgh (a ten-minute drive from the cottage), stock up on local goodies at Belford’s popular Sunnyhills farm shop or enjoy delicious food and unbroken views of the Holy Island at the nearby Barn at Beal, a working farm and restaurant.
