South Wing Cottage is a beautiful Grade II listed cottage, the former Butler Quarters and semi-detached to the main Rumleigh House, dating back to the early 1800’s. It has been lovingly restored in keeping with its original charm and heritage. Located in Rumleigh, near the village of Bere Alston that lies between the rivers Tamar and Tavy, the cottage is situated within 29 acres of private countryside and wonderful grounds. The views over the Tamar Valley are breath taking, with glimpses of the picturesque Tamar Valley Line connecting Plymouth and Gunnislake, and Bere Alston station is within 2 miles.
The historic stannary and market town of Tavistock is a short drive away and has a good selection of independent shops, as well as a varied Pannier Market and the annual Goose Fair. The city of Plymouth is known for its maritime heritage and historic Barbican District as well as the National Marine Museum. This vibrant city has diverse shops and restaurants, as well as activities to keep children and adults alike entertained. From the cottage there is so much you can explore in this magnificent area of Devon, including Cotehele House, a remarkable medieval house that has seen very few changes over the last five centuries, Buckland Abbey is another beautiful house steeped in history.
