With its Heritage Centre, Tea on the Train, micro-brewery, walks along the river, gorge walk to the waterfall, golf and fishing, Bellingham offers something for everyone.
The spectacular scenery of Kielder Forest and Water Park (14 miles) offers adventure for walkers and cyclists. The area has International Dark Sky Gold status. The market town of Hexham with its abbey and old gaol is 15 miles away, as is the Roman town of Corbridge. Both have regular farmers’ markets and good independent shops. Northumberland offers a rich cultural history, with Hadrian’s Wall, castles and coastline and breathtaking National Trust properties. Newcastle’s city attractions are just over 34 miles away.
