This gorgeous holiday home is tucked down a private lane in an idyllic setting of gently rolling hills and majestic trees. The Oast can sleep 8 comfortably, providing the perfect accommodation for family and friends.
All of the bedrooms are thoughtfully furnished to the highest standard, as is the magnificent dining room where you can have lavish dinners. Enjoy the cosy kitchen warmed in the winter by the Aga and in the summer relax in the secluded courtyard while the children play in the garden. A cot (bedding not provided) and stair gate are available upon request. Please let me know in advance if you require these items.
Please note- we are a working farm with livestock and machinery, therefore children must be supervised at all times and you enter the farmyard at your own risk. Although not in the grounds of the Oast, there are ponds and streams nearby.

This unique yet comfortable home in the Sussex countryside made a perfect base for our family's Christmas break. The large kitchen with Aga was a cosy setting for casual family suppers and the spacious dining room comfortably seats eight. We loved the location on a working farm with and enjoyed country walks and pubs in the vicinity.
We had a family get together and the property was ideal.
Set in the countryside it was very relaxing and perfect for what we needed.
Carly and her husband were very accommodating and we couldn't ask for anymore. I would highly recommend.
Exactly what we needed to decompress after a big move! Wonderful hosts in a fantastic setting and they didn’t mind our taking the children to the barn to see the animals, which was very nice of them. The oast house itself is spectacular and surrounded by breathtaking views as well as quaint villages (Mayfield). A great place to go ‘off-grid’ for a while, but still with driving reach of transport links in Tunbridge Wells.
The property was immaculately clean and well organised. It is a absolutely beautiful and spacious property, and kitted out with many luxuries(such as a full radio speaker system in almost every room, luxurious lounge). The surrounding grounds(immediate to the property) are perfect for kids to run around, have fun with the house is great for them to play hide and seek!!.
We had an amazing time at this property.
The hosts were great with communication and friendly to talk to when we saw them.
Highly recommend.

About the host
Hosted by Carly
We moved to Mayfield in 2011 for a change of scenery and farming lifestyle. Previously we had a vegetable farm with a farm shop and a few sheep. We now have a lot of sheep, some Sussex cows and a tiny vegetable patch.
Why they chose this property
The Oast house (or hop kiln) was built to dry hops, an ingredient used in brewing beer. The hops would have been spread out on a thin floor dried by either a wood or charcoal kiln below. The heat would pass through the hops and escape via the cowl (a rotating roof). Oast houses are generally found in South East England and West Midlands. The Oast House was converted in 2006 having lain redundant since the mid 50’s as agriculture became more mechanised and hop production fell.
What makes this property unique
This beautiful unique property is an ideal holiday home, which we enjoy sharing with guests from around the globe.
