About this property
Delightful One Bed Lake District Cottage
A very warm welcome to our beautiful unique stay, a much loved property in the popular village of Great Strickland. Well liked by walkers, cyclists and those looking to relax and enjoy a slower pace away from busy life.
Compact but Comfortable, 1 bedroom property. The Haven makes the perfect holiday get away for couples or singles looking to explore the beautiful countryside and nature around us.
Because the stairs are very steep to the bedroom it is suited to younger couples and those with no mobility issues.
The cottage is perfectly situated to see Red Squirrels, Deer, Badgers, Foxes and an array of native birds. Often from the bedroom window.
Only five minutes drive from Ullswater and the Lake District National Park. The cottage enjoys uninterrupted views of the Pennines from the private enclosed garden. Everything about this property has been well thought through to create a relaxed and luxurious feeling.
As it is self-catering, you'll find everything you need for a perfect stay. The kitchen has a fridge, a hob, an oven, a kettle and a microwave.
The cottage is a perfect place to relax and offers a television, upstairs and downstairs and private internet access.
If you would like to eat out, there is a pub in the village called The Strickland Arms, Morland cafe is a quick 2 mile drive, but you can walk if you wish. The George and Dragon is 3 miles away. All serving Great food and drinks in a warm and cosy environment.
There is one bedroom in this cottage which contains a king size bed. (Please note that the stairs leading to the bedroom are very steep, almost like a ships ladder. There is a hand rail and photos on our listing). Because the cottage was built in 1873 there are low beams upstairs in the bedroom.
There is one bathroom, which has a toilet and sink and a walk-in shower.
Linen and towels are all included to make your stay more enjoyable.
House Rules:
- Check-in time is 4pm and check-out is 11am.
- Smoking is not allowed.
- There are on-site parking facilities for one car available at the property.
- Pets are welcome at the property. But please bear in mind the above information about the stairs. 1 or 2 Small/medium dogs fit best in the property. If you bring a dog we ask that you clean up after them. We can provide dog washing things and drying towels if you forget to bring one. Please just ask.
