About this property

Stunning Beach Front Apartment - Watch the dolphins over breakfast

Gwel-y-Mor is a beachfront holiday apartment overlooking picturesque Dolau Beach, and harbour. Situated in the centre of the village it is the perfect location for a relaxing holiday with a sheltered harbour and safe beaches.

The beachfront location provides stunning views over the beach, harbour and Cardigan Bay beyond, the apartment is just 30m from Dolau Beach. 150m away from the quayside and harbour. Lovely sandy beaches, rock pools and safe bathing, South Beach has its own designated swimming area with lifeguard cover.

The first floor apartment with panoramic views over Cardigan Bay is located on the junction of Wellington Place and Church Street. The grade II listed building has been sympathetically adapted from a former warehouse and sail loft dating from the 1850’s, to provide a high standard of comfort and stylish accommodation.

The accommodation comprises of :

Spacious lounge/dining area with two windows with sea views, allows for three - 2 seater sofas to comfortable seat 6 adults, a dining table to seat 6, TV (with freeview options). DVD/CD player, books and games.

Separate kitchen with two windows with sea views, includes a full size cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, and full size fridge/freezer. It is equipped with all necessary crockery, cutlery, pans, and glasses. We like to leave the basics such as salt and pepper, cooking oil etc for our guests to use, and only ask that you replace any if you finish them.

Three light and airy bedrooms :
1 master bedroom with 3 windows, 2 of which have sea/harbour views, kingsize bed, en-suite bathroom with full size bath, shower, toilet and hand basin, TV with freeview.
1 bedroom with 2, 3 foot single beds, sea views.
1 bedroom with Kingsize bed, alternatively can be split into 2 , 2 foot 6 single beds on request.
All linen and towels (except beach towels and cot sheets) are provided.

Separate main bathroom, again with full size bath, shower, toilet and hand basin.

Front and back Hall’s with coat hooks and storage cupboard

Full central heating and hot water is provided.
Free secure wifi is available throughout.

Six large windows over look the beach, to allow perfect viewing of the beach and bay. you can enjoy your meals, and relax in the lounge or bedrooms, and spot dolphins and seals which are seen most days swimming and diving right in front of the windows. One further window overlooks the harbour.

It is worth noting that Cardigan Bay is one of only two places in the uk with resident dolphins.

A little further along, past the lifeboat station and the sailing school is the bigger Cei Bach beach. All are rated as Blue flag beaches for water quality. There are boat trips available from the harbour to explore the Marine Heritage Coast and spot the dolphins even in the winter time, weather permitting. Watersports such as sailing, windsurfing, paddle boarding and power boating are available from the beach.
Fishing is another popular pastime, with the chance to catch sea bass, crab and lobster.

All the amenities you may need from restaurants, pubs, groceries, boutique shops, ice creams and fish and chips are all immediately to hand. The local shops are a high standard, offering a wide variety of quality goods and a very friendly service.

The area is historically linked with Dylan Thomas, poet and author of ‘Under Mike Wood’ and there is a route signposted to trace his favourite haunts. The village of New Quay is no new comer to catering for holidaymakers. It was welcoming 10000 visitors a year in Queen Victorias day.

A great place to stay!

We were there about 10 minutes when I heard the loud yell, "Dolphins!" We were fortunate enough to see them 3 times. Being so near the sea, with the stellar views, was fantastic. The apartment was shiny clean, very comfortable, with lovely modern renovations. New Quay is a lovely town and the apartment is in a great spot for restaurants and shops. We had an issue with the hot water and our hosts were easy to contact and immediately contacted the plumber. I highly recommend.

New Quay Heaven

We has a really fab time at this apartment. It is spacious, well fitted with comfy beds and sofas. And the best kitted out kitchen we have ever had - loads of crockery, cutlery and glasses for every occasion. It is in a lovely location with beautiful sea views. All in all I would recommend this for a holiday.

This is just about the best location in New Quay; right on the harbour and looking out to sea from almost every window. The apartment is spacious, clean, warm and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great location

A large, well equipped and clean flat in a great location with stunning views. A bit of a surprise to see we were above a fish and chip shop but it didn’t impact the holiday. No noticeable smell! Highly recommended.
