Awesome house perfect for family vacation and close enough to feel away but not too far from the convenience of casinos and restaurants. We saw wildlife and enjoyed fires, hot tub, and s’mores. This was a fabulous Christmas getaway for our group.
Property is laid out great with four bedrooms including en suite baths and king size beds on the ground floor. An additional king size bedroom and another bathroom is found upstairs off the “game loft”. We all found the beds to be comfortable. The great room and kitchen provided us with a lot of space and we loved it.
The only negatives were a few areas where age and wear seems to have taken its toll. About 2/3’s of the jets on the hot tub were not functioning at all. It was disappointing that the large roomy hot tub couldn’t be fully enjoyed as designed. Also, the outdoor fireplace couldn't be lit and the gas grill only had one fully functioning burner and the grates need replacement. Full disclosure, we did not reach out to the host about the issues, because we decided we would rather deal with the inconveniences than have our family time intruded upon by a repair person.
We really enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and appreciated having seasoned firewood readily available. A little lighting out by the grill and fire pit would be a very helpful addition.
Cabin was well laid out and great setup. Beds were squeaky and one was pretty high but overall not bad. Bathtubs were slick. Beautiful cabin and area. Liked it was close to town. Would have enjoyed TV outside on porch. We had a great time!

Beautiful house
We had a wonderful time. However the managing company was impossible to get a hold of regardless of calling and leaving messages. The house was not well cleaned when we checked in. The floors turned your feet black if you walked barefoot at all. Some of the toilets were not cleaned well. The house owner was able to answer all my questions and she is phenomenal. She always responded right away and did her best to answer all the things that her managing company should be handling for her.
We had a great stay! The only thing we wish the beds were more comfortable and they had updated kitchen utensils. The beds were pretty uncomfortable, but everything else was perfect!
The cabin was excellent and everything went perfect! We were close to things to do, but also enjoyed just hanging out at the cabin and enjoying the hot tub, patio and fire pit! Thank you so much Sharon for letting us spend the weekend at your cabin!
We had a wonderful time… 14 family members gathered together for 3 days to celebrate Christmas!
Sharon Alford is an amazing property manager.. We had some minor issues that she addressed right away. We would definitely recommend staying at the Steel Creek cabin.
It was really fun very spacious. I loved the look and location
The only thing I might have a criticism about is the cooking pans I wish they were better quality. Everything I cooked stuck to the pans. All in all everything else was great
Our eXtended family enjoyed this home greatly. It was clean and well-stocked. The communication with the owner was prompt and always helpful. The house accommodated our group well, but the deck was our favorite spot! A very relaxing trip in a beautiful home!
I recently stayed at this property total of five families. Cabin is very large and equipped with everything you need but I wish the description listed that the bathroom for the bedroom upstairs was across the playroom and not inside the bedroom. Hot tub did not looked like it was drained before we got there had to contact the owner and she send someone to put chemicals in it but water never got clear. Besides the hot tub issue everything was great.
Property was fully furnished. We brought towels, pots and pans, detergent, etc. We were happy to find that everything we needed was supplied. Having a washer and dryer on site was fantastic for those of us traveling with kids. There were plenty of cots, futons and sleeper sofas to accommodate those that didn’t have one of the 5 bedrooms. There are 5 bathrooms on sight. Two have tubs attached to the showers and 3 bathrooms contain walk in showers. The property was beautiful. Everything was in great working order. Overall, this place is fantastic for a vacation for a large crowd.
I rented this house for my husband’s 50th birthday. We had our adult children from Kansas City come down for the surprise! It was fabulous, roomy and had everything we needed! Thank you for the wonderful home for us to rent.
We enjoyed our stay! Lots of space and beautiful property. We appreciate that we did not lack anything. Thank you for this relaxing & memorable experience!-Monica V.
I threw my wife a 40th birthday party with 4 other couples. There were 10 of us total. It was an amazing house for us. The layout was perfect. The bedrooms are in the corners and the middle is one big living space. The living room, dining room, kitchen, and the upstairs game room are all one big room.
The kitchen worked out extremely well for us. I brought food and we cooked every meal except for one dinner where we ate at Grateful Head. The kitchen was really well stocked. It had pots, pans, skillets, mixing bowls, knives, cutting boards, and more. I did bring my big skillet from home because I knew I was cooking for 10 people, but they had several skillets there. The grill out back had plenty of propane.
The inside of the house was extremely clean and smelled good when you walked in the front door. The outside areas had a layer of pollen over everything. This is normal for this area at this time of year. There was a hose and faucet on the back patio which made cleaning the back patio super easy. There was also a broom and dust pan in the laundry room. I have stayed in places where they don't allow access to cleaning supplies and it can be frustrating.
My only complaint about this property were the box springs under the mattresses. The mattresses were very nice. However the box springs were very creaky. My wife is a light sleeper and the box springs were a point of contention. I'm not sure if it was every bed there, but I know that more than one couple complained about the squeaky box springs.
We had an amazing time and loved the house! Will definitely go back as long as the box springs are changed out and aren't creaky.
