Charming 4 **** gîte in an old farmhouse at the entrance to the Gorges du Tarn

Charming family cottage located in the town of Verrières in an old authentic Caussenard farmhouse, which can accommodate 2-6 people, in the heart of the Grands Causses natural park, 10 minutes from the Tarn gorges, Millau and its viaduct.

You will have 70m² recently restored with respect for tradition (vaulted rooms, beams, exposed stones, lime plaster).

You can enjoy the many outdoor activities and various events organized in our beautiful region particularly rich in medieval villages, templar cities, bastides, castles, caves and other geological sites. The hiking, horse riding or mountain biking trails will allow you to discover the great wilderness of the Grands Causses natural park. The nautical activities on the banks of the Tarn, swimming, rafting, canoeing, as well as free flight, paragliding, hang gliding and ULM activities will contribute to the success of your stay. The many farm inns, farmers' markets and their night entertainment will allow you to discover the rich Aveyron gastronomy.

Ländliche Idylle

Gut ausgestattetes Ferienhaus auf einem einsam gelegenen Bauernhof, dessen Ursprünge bis in das späte Mittelalter zurückreichen. Obwohl unsere Kenntnisse der französischen Sprache sehr begrenzt sind, wurden wir von den Vermietern freundlich aufgenommen. Hier war unser idealer Ausgangspunkt für die Erkundung der Schönheiten der Départements Aveyron und Lozère.

Nous remercions Line et Christophe pour leur accueil! Cette maison typique de la région a été restaurée avec gout! La décoration est top! Inmejorable ubicación, casa y servicio

En medio de la naturaleza, cerca de caballos y ciervos. Un lugar perfecto donde se respira tranquilidad y buen punto de partida para visitas de los pueblos de la zona. Muy buena acogida de los propietarios. Te dejan total libertad yautonomía, pero están allí para cuando los necesites.

Super séjour

Ce gîte a en tous points correspondu à nos attentes par son calme, son isolement, sa situation dans un endroit merveilleux. Nous avons été très touchés par la personnalité des propriétaires. La proximité des chevaux et de la basse cour a permis à notre petite fille de 3ans de voir un poulain et des poussins qui venaient de naître .merci.

True peace and quiet

We were looking for somewhere peaceful where we could truly feel 'away from it all' and found this and more here at Verrieres. Line and Christophe have done a beautiful job, thoughtfully converting their farm buildings into a quiet, well-designed , tasteful and comfortable place to stay. The combination of peace, privacy and being able to say hello to their beautiful horses each evening made it the perfect place to stay. It is also well situated with easy access to shops and services in nearby Millau, as well as the Tarn Gorge.

Lieu enchanteur et reposant

Ce corps de ferme idéalement situé au calme a été parfaitement rénové et est entretenu avec soin par les propriétaires ; c'est encore mieux que sur les photos !!! Accueil chaleureux, nos hôtes sont disponibles et de très bon conseil : je recommande sans hésiter !!

Tout est (presque) parfait...

Tout ce que les autres occupants ont écrit de louangeur à propos de ce gîte est vrai, donc je ne vais pas paraphraser. Idem concernant les propriétaires, qui sont sympas et accueillants, qui habitent à côté mais savent être discrets. La rumeur de l'autoroute, perceptible du parking, ne l'est plus quand on est dans le gîte et n'est pas du tout gênante, à mon avis. En revanche, lorsqu'on a envie de faire une petite flambée, le petit poêle à bois, capable de chauffer magnifiquement la pièce, requiert un vrai savoir-faire qui va au-delà de la maîtrise des habituelles cheminées que je connais... Prévoir une bonne provision d'allume-feu! Il faut savoir aussi qu'étant dans un bâtiment d'époque, les murs sont épais et les ouvertures petites. En dépit de la baie vitrée fixe ouverte côté Nord, il n'y a pas une énorme luminosité à l'intérieur du gîte, en tous cas au mois de mars. A contrario, il doit y faire agréablement frais en été! La salle de bains est, quant à elle, aveugle. Enfin, l’Internet fonctionne de manière parfois erratique, et il arrive même de ne plus avoir de débit du tout jusqu’au lendemain. Il semble que la manière selon laquelle la 4G est fournie par satellite dans cette région aux utilisateurs finaux soit pas toujours fiable... Ce ne sera pas gênant pour certains, mais attention s'il est nécessaire pour vous d'avoir de l'internet en permanence, par exemple pour des raisons professionnelles.

Le gîte parfait pour explorer la région de Millau

C'est avec regret que nous quittons ce jour le fantastique gîte de la Rouquette et ses adorables propriétaires Line et Christophe. L'emplacement du gîte est vraiment idéal pour explorer Millau et ses environs. Line et Christophe sont très accueillants et d'une gentillesse rare. Le gîte est parfaitement équipé, spacieux et très frais (bien pratique en ces temps de canicule). Le jardin (et sa terrasse agréable) est au calme, arboré et très grand. On se sent comme chez soi dans une vraie petite maison. Bref, tout était parfait! Le jour où nous reviendrons dans la région, nous savons déjà où nous séjournerons... Merci encore Line et Christophe.

Exactly as pictured. Charming and clean.

We stayed for about a week with our almost 2-year old son. The house is about a 30-40 minute drive from the climbing in the gorge. We were worried it was going to be too far of a drive but it was very scenic and totally worth it. It was nice to have a big yard and our son loved visiting the horses and donkey each day. Christophe was a great host and very attentive to our requests. The kitchen was well-equipped and the entire house was sparkling clean when we arrived. There was a cleaning fee that I was not aware of, but I may have just missed this detail when I booked the reservation. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!!

Highly Recommended

We spent a very comfortable and enjoyable 2 weeks in August at Gite la Rouquette. Ideally situated for exploring the beautiful Aveyron countryside. The accomodation was clean, tidy, modern and very, very spacious inside. The owners were very helpful while remaining very discreet during our stay. Situated in a very tranquil setting the gite was very handy to the motorway and all the amenities (large supermarket, tank station etc) are a 15 minute drive away in Millau. Feeding carrots to the horse and donkey was an added bonus ! I'd highly recommend this accomodation for anyone who wants to explore this beautiful area while at the same time having a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay.

Archetypal rural France.

Beautiful, quiet, ancient farmhouse, tastefully modernized with all of the necessities for a home-centered stay--great cooking setup and an efficient washing machine, so you can pack light. Massively thick stone walls render AC unnecessary. Perfect center for exploring the Grande Causses and Tarn gorges (a flower lover's paradise and hiker's dream), but well within day-trip/striking distance of Roman and coastal Languedoc/Provence. Charmant und wunderschön

Das wunderschöne und charmante Ferienhaus hat unsere Erwartung bei weitem übertroffen. Obwohl aus dem Mittelalter stammend, ist es mit sehr viel Gespühr modern renoviert und bietet alles, was man in den Ferien braucht um sich rundherum wohl zu fühlen. Wir waren echt begeistert und auch die Umgebung ist sehr schön und vielseitig.

Tous était formidable!

Die Gite in La Rouquette ist liebevoll her- und eingerichtet. Line und Christophe waren wunderbare und äussert hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Pferd, Maultier und Hund die liebsten Gefährten unserer drei Kinder. Das Haus ist mit allem Komfort ausgestattet und hat mit einem Beistellbett gut Platz geboten für unsere fünfköpfige Familie. In der Umgebung gibt es sehr viel zu entdecken, wofür in jedem Fall ein Auto erforderlich ist (wir haben in 2 Wochen 1'200 km entdeckt). Spaziergänge ums Haus oder ein Tag mit Buch vorm Feuer sind aber auch möglich und lassen das Auto mal ausruhen. Merci beaucoup, Line et Christophe, pour toutes, pour toutes les informations sur la maison, et la région, pour le gâteau, la marmelade (on n'a pas encore essayé) et pour votre hospitalité! C'était formidabel! Nous serons de retournier!
