About this property

Cottage in the Lake District

Fellfoot Cottage is a 19th century bobbin mill workers cottage in Staveley at the mouth of the Kentmere Valley, surrounded by stunning scenery.

The cottage has recently had a new kitchen and bathroom fitted.

On the ground floor there is a cosy living room with original floorboards and a window seat, leading through to a dining kitchen.

The living room has two 2 seater sofas, TV, DVD player and games.

The kitchen has integrated appliances, quartz worktops, plenty of pots and pans to make stews to soufflés and a huge dining table.

Upstairs are 2 bedrooms with king sized beds and a family bathroom.

Both bedrooms are carpeted and have hanging and drawer space. The front bedroom looks out onto the valley and Hugill Fell. The back bedroom overlooks the gardens and beyond the occasional grazing sheep. If you are lucky you may also spot deer.

Outside is an outhouse with a washer/dryer. The outhouse can also be used by guests for additional storage.

The private garden is detached from the house and accessed by a short shared path to the side and back of the outhouses. It is east facing and elevated so catches the sun for much of the day

Beautiful property with great facilities available

The property was beautiful, it had a great big kitchen dining area with a stove fire which we made sure we would make use of. Everything was nice and clean and we were impressed with the amount of equipment was available to use in the kitchen like a slow cooker. Our only issue was the property was advertised as dog friendly but when we arrived in the guest info book it stated only the downstairs was able to have dogs. As our dog has anxiety whenever we stay somewhere new it was quite a problem as she was left downstairs and would not settled until 2am on our first night. Although the property has a garden it was quite inconvenient having to keep putting the harness on and walking her out to the garden that was behind an out building up a steep hill, which was not great when your having to do at 6am
Stayed 4 nights in Mar 2022
