About this property

The Cart Shed (P), Paston, Norfolk

The Cart Shed is a beautiful bijou bolthole for two people looking for a peaceful, relaxing escape. A perfect place to stay all year round, it's super stylish and situated in an idyllic rural setting but only two miles from the traditional seaside resort of Mundesley and its many amenities.

This gorgeous barn conversion, all on one level, has been sympathetically restored with top quality modern appliances, a well-equipped kitchen which opens out into a light and airy open-plan dining/ sitting room. There is little terrace outside, the ideal spot for a morning coffee or al fresco dining. The bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite wet room.

The coast at Mundesley can easily be reached on foot across the lanes and fields, and from here you can link up with the North Norfolk coastal path. The Norfolk Broads are also close by, making The Cart Shed the perfect hideaway for discovering all that Norfolk has offer, any time of the year.

Additional Information:
One well-behaved dog welcome (small additional charge).
Synthetic bedding provided.
Please note, there is no starter pack (which includes tea, coffee, sugar and milk) or welcome hamper provided at this property.

Good but needs improvement
Needs further cooking utensils you, you can fry an egg but try getting it out of pan without a slice? No kitchen spoons. Bathroom floor is lethal step off rubber mat in shower and you can slip on floor very very easily. Somebody is going to fall and seriously hurt themselves. Mattress could be replaced. Would not recommend this property because of the dangerous bathroom floor but otherwise it was good.

Lovely costal getaway
We loved our stay in the Cartshed, it was a lovely quiet place to stay that was only a 20 minute walk from the sea. It was easy to visit Norwich from the Cartshed, and there were plenty of lovely places along the coast to visit too. The Cartshed was the perfect size for 2 people, the open plan kitchen living room was very comfortable and practical. We had everything we needed to cook. The bed room and bathroom were nicely sized too. Our only recommendation would be a sign for the Cartshed like the Old English Barn has as we struggled to find which building was the Cartshed, or a a photo of the outside showing you what the holiday let looks like in the gallery on the website when booking.

Autumn Break with doggie
Absolutely loved this barn. Very comfortable and really nicely presented. Ideal location for getting to lots of places and sea front only 5 mins in the car Only thing it lacked was a full length mirror for us ladies

It was a lovely clean property in rural Norfolk.
Lovely cart shed with all the amenities you could want for a stay in rural Norfolk. Quiet location, very clean and well maintained. A long mirror in the bedroom would be useful, especially for drying hair!! Not safe to take a hairdryer in the bathroom! Also a few more teaspoons, drink glasses and cooking utensils would be appreciated. Overall though, a really lovely property well designed by the owner. We stayed in The Old English Barn in June and we would recommend both these beautiful properties. Thanks to the owner for letting us stay.

Well presented but several issues that need to be addressed
Well presented and lovely bolthole. However, several issues notified to Norfolk Hideaways:- Self catering but only one pan (no frying pan) so had to have precooked meals and no cooked breakfasts! Three power cuts (lighting) on separate days in different areas of property so concern about safety of electricity. Very slippery shower floor and no bath mat which we had to buy to avoid potential injury. No mirror in bedroom only in wet room - no use for using hairdryer (or shaver) as no power point in wet room. No wifi signal and couldn't reset router as this is supposed to be in the utility room - couldn't find it anywhere (there is no utility room shown on the plan). No details of where to put rubbish from the kitchen bin. Brochure details did not make it clear how overlooked the property is by the Old English Barn. Had to keep blinds down the whole time for privacy and to keep out their lighting.

Some positives some negatives
Warm and comfortable but things lacking. No trivets to stop lovely worktops being spoilt, no placemats we had to use chopping boards! NO bins. We were carrying bags out with us to dispose of. We did leave them outside but animals got into them. So unhygienic !! Also had to be towed out of deep gravel Shower slippery and a couple more towels would have been appreciated and cleaning materials for kitchen and shower room This would have to improve to bring us back Rosemary and Ian Oliver

Lockdown breakout
A well furnished accommodation to a high standard. Just missing a few extra touches. A comfortable bolt hole to come back to chill inside. A small outside patio was great for the evening sunshine.
