Lovely property, misleading parking info
The property was lovely with great views of the River Dart, but our stay was let down by the innaccuracy of the listing and subsequent poor communication with regards to parking, and issues accessing the property upon arrival.
We booked via Vrbo and had shortlisted a number of properties in Dartmouth, but opted for Ty'r Ddraig because of the listed 'onsite parking' under the Property Amenities. However, upon booking we were instructed to register a Sykes account for the booking confirmation, on which we found out that the onsite parking was no longer available, and instead replaced with a parking permit for the Mayor's Avenue car park - which turned out to be a 10 minute walk away from the property and extremely busy at peak times, so not always guaranteed a space.
When we found out about the parking we messaged Sykes via the 'Contact Host' option on the Vrbo app to get details about how far the car park was from the property, and whether a space would be guaranteed, but never got a reply. We then phoned and couldn't get any answers so decided to just play it by ear when we arrived.
When we did arrive for 5pm check-in there was no key in the keysafe so we had to phone Sykes, who then had to contact the local agent to come with a spare key to let us into the property. In all it was sorted within 30 minutes or so, but wasn't the best start stood outside the property with all our bags, etc. on top of the let down with the parking.
