We absolutely loved our stay at Titanas beautiful house! The view was staggering, every room was comfortable and well appointed and the location was quiet (minus the crowing roosters - bring earplugs!) and near lots of swimming spots and restaurants.
It’s funky but in the most charming way - lots of steps and climbing around to get to bathrooms and the kitchen. It’s kind of like staying in a treehouse. But those who climb get the views and we spent most of our time on the fabulous porch overlooking the sea and in the open, vaulted ceiling kitchen.
The host was very communicative and arranged for someone to help us with our luggage coming and going. I can’t wait to go back to Hydra and stay here again!
Beautiful house spectacular view the island is worth a visit be prepared to walk around and climb a few stairs but that is part of the island’s charm. Vasiliki and her neighbor Chrysoula were great host Chrysoula came to the ferry to accompany us to the house, we really appreciated her help
With one bedroom and bathroom in a separate building, and the other two bedrooms/one bath tucked below the living space and sharing a separate terrace, this property gives a family (or a group with multiple couples) enough privacy and space to spread out. And then everyone will want to come back together for meals on the absolutely spectacular upper terrace. Its only downside — and we had to work hard to come up with this — is a neighbor’s tree blocking the full panorama. For the kids who wanted to be on wifi during their private time, it was too bad that the signal does not reach all the bedrooms. And as other reviewers have said, this property and this entire island are not for people with bad knees or mobility issues.
Everything from the flexible check in/out process, to the friendliness of the property manager and our local contact, to the house itself and its location is wonderful. It's a 10 min walk from the port, but close to some of the best swim spots on the island. The house is beautiful, spacious, and well appointed. I cannot recommend staying there enough. I'd come back in a heartbeat!
Hormis l’accès (beaucoup de marches) qui peut être compliqué pour des gens âgés, tout est parfait dans cette maison qui allie beauté et simplicité ! Sa localisation est idéale ! Je reviendrai sans hésiter. Merci !
Beautiful classic Hydra style house nestled on the top of the hill with sweeping ocean views, this is by far the best place to watch the sunset in Hydra. The location is ideal ! perfectly centered between commercial area (the port) and the local restaurant and beaches of Kamini, not to mention within walking distance to the best beach clubs in Hydra. Highly recommend
Beautiful house in Kamini and great, accommodating hosts
I strongly recommend this house to families wanting short or extended stays on Hydra. I have visited Hydra about 10 times since 1969. I have always preferred a house that is between the Hydra port and the smaller village of Kamini as I like to go between them for various activities each and every day of my stay. This house is perfect for that. My multi-generational family found it very convenient to 1) go to the port in the morning for coffee and shopping, 2) go swimming in the afternoon at Castello’s beach (or wherever), and 3) dine in the evening at either Kamini, on the coastal road, or the port.
I particularly loved the upper patio of the house, which is open air with fantastic views of the village of Kamini as well as the sea and sky. The star shows each night were fantastic.
The interior of the house worked particularly well for 5 people — adults plus teenagers. Everyone had their own space and could either join together in the great room at the top or go off to their private rooms/spaces. Having two bathrooms was great and important.
I have to say that the house had EVERYTHING you could possibly need or want when you arrive with just your suitcase of clothes. No need to go out searching for toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper, garbage bags or anything like that. Any food you might want is very close at either 4 Corners or Kamini. And the fridge had several bottles of great wine waiting for us!
The owner, Vasiliki, and the caretaker, Jonny, were fabulous. Always available for questions or aid for anything you might want. They made sure the donkeys were there at the port when I arrived on the hydrofoil and at the house when my family needed to leave. They took care of all my questions and looked into the various quirks of living in a Greek island house. They were super friendly and just great people to deal with.
My only caveat as a 76-year old with bad knees is that anyone my age will need to be prepared for large steps in the house from the gate to the house itself. No one else in my family — neither the kids nor the grandkids even mentioned it. I was able to handle them in the end. it just took some time.
Enjoy a great house!!!
We came on a romantic retreat and never wanted to leave. Vasiliki was so helpful and kind. The house was perfectly located away from the harbor but not too far away. The house is cool and honest a well appointed Bohemian retreat with all the charm Greece has to offer. Pefkaki Tavern is a must.
