Beautiful Countryside Cottage
We had a wonderful stay at Lavender Cottage. The cottage was in superb decorative order with white walls and excellent facilities. It was lovely in the garden in the sunshine. There are some great walks from the cottage across the fields and through the woods. The staff were very helpful and supportive during our stay. This is the second time we have stayed here. We will return.

An excellent place to stay
If you are in for a silent and exquisite place to stay, The Upper Farm is THE place. I have been there several times, and I will certainly return.

Lavender Cottage
Lovely cottage with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It has a large and well equipped kitchen, large lounge and comfortable bed. There is a dedicated parking space at the front and a large enclosed garden at the back. Two minor issues prevent it from being perfect. The en-suite sink is minuscule and the tv needs to be replaced with a true smart tv.

A Real Gem
Vobster Farm was even better than the pictures and description. Michael and Tricia were the ideal hosts, so attentive and helpful. We fed the sheep with them in the morning and enjoyed our days, lounging in the cottage, in the backyard of Lavender cottage in particular, and exploring the surrounding area. it could not have been better. We are so grateful!

Excellent and beautiful place for accommodation.
Everything you need in the well equipped kitchen is covered. Even kitchen towel, dish cloth and soap for cleaning your dishes as well as a dish washer. Only bring what you prefer to use when you are preparing your meals. Regarding sorting the trash it is clearly shown which packaging goes into which boxes. The collection point in a small defined area is near by. It looked and felt like every room had just been spring cleaned. The person who has furnished the rooms knows in details how to do it to get the visitors feeling welcomed. Located in an English country area a car is needed.

Perfect place to relax
The cottage was just the right size for four adults, two children and a dog. I have difficulty getting up and down stairs so the downstairs en-suite was ideal. We were so fortunate with the weather and had a dry sunny week which made it even more relaxing. We spent a lot of time on the terrace or in the kitchen watching the children playing. Various members of the party took the opportunity to take walks around the wood and fields. The children went to feed the chickens and collect eggs on a couple of mornings and were able to get up close to the lambs. Good size fridge/freezer but do check that it’s set high enough. We had milk go off twice before we realised . Used the barbecue one afternoon and a good time was had by all. I would recommend Lavender Cottage for your holiday.

Amazing stay once again
With so much eye for detail is this cottage being looked after. The love and attention are felt! And if it is not for the cottage alone, the environment, walking tracks, views, stilness are completely out of this world. Heaven on earth I would say. Thank you All who are making this possible♥️

Highly recommended
Had a 3-night weekend stay across Rosemary and Lavendar cottages, with a family ranging in age from toddlers to grandparents. We loved it. Super comfortable and luxe. Everything thought of. The farm is impeccable, and we loved feeding the animals. Lots to do locally; we had some great food and dinner. An expensive option but highly recommended.

Lavender Cottage
We really enjoyed our stay at Upper Vobster Farm. The cottage was imaculate, had all the facilities you would need and some extras, and it was in a good position to explore Somerset. We took some walks round the farm and fields, which our dog loved and the staff, including the owners were very friendly and helpfull. Would recommend a stay here.

Perfect stay
Our stay at Lavender cottage for my daughters graduation in Bath was faultless. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen had everything you could need during your stay. Our dog absolutely loved the garden. It was lovely to be able to visit the animals on the farm and take a trip into the woodland which was filled with an abundance of bluebells and wild garlic. Overall a very peaceful and relaxing weekend in a perfect setting.

A wonderful stay at Lavender Cottage
My family and I have stayed at Upper Vobster Farm for many years. Each stay is truly fantastic and this visit to Lavender Cottage was no exception. Lavender Cottage is comfortable, extremely well appointed with amazing views. The hosts provide everything you need in the cottage for your stay and include lots of little extras - such as a thoughtful welcome hamper. Outside of the cottage there are a multitude of nature trails through woods and fields on your doorstep - in the summer there are also some lovely well thought out seating areas. We always have a wonderful stay and leave feeling rested and relaxed.

Perfect Christmas break
We booked Lavender Cottage over the Christmas period to be near family and as a peaceful getaway break. The property was perfect for us. Lovely living areas (decorated for Christmas) with beautiful views of the countryside. An accessible downstairs bedroom and shower en-suite for mum. And good wifi. The cottage was very comfortable, with every mod-con and all spotless. The team at Upper Vobster Farm were lovely - and put so much thought into everything we might need. It was very hard to leave. We now have some special memories of Christmas at Lavender Cottage for which I am very grateful. We hope to visit again soon.

With my parents we look after 55 acres of land in the Somerset countryside. Growing up at the farm since 1991 over the years we have restored the buildings and the land back to its glory, so now guests can enjoy all the farm and area has to offer.

Why they chose this property

UUpper Vobster Farm is a beautiful country property lovingly restored and created to help you take a rest from the stresses of life. There are so many pressures around us that take away our space and time. Upper Vobster Farm is somewhere where you can allow yourself to have a moment to be yourself again. We have 55 acres of land, including a 6 acre wood, which is a nature conservation area and preservation area for birds of prey. Nature, the woods and the sounds of the birds will make you stop in your tracks and feel the magic around. As well as the buzzards, kestrels and red kites you may well see the resident kingfishers on the stream or by one of the lakes, or hear the woodpecker at work in the ancient oak tree.

As our guest you are welcome to enjoy all that we have to offer. There are wonderful walks, places to sit and time to be. From the buildings the land slopes down to a stream in the valley below. There are two small lakes with damsel flies and dragonflies, one with a beach with logs and rocks to sit on that also harbours a large number of newts and the other one which is near an old stone bridge that leads you on to the old drovers way. But please remember that playing in or by or with water is what children like best and it is your responsibility to make sure that they are supervised by an adult at all times.

You’ll find a flock of North Ronaldsay rare breed sheep, pygmy goats, various ducks which live in their own castle, many varieties of hens and other wildlife. Grasses and wildflowers are abundant in summer, bluebells and wild garlic in spring and numerous fungi in autumn. Winter frosts leave an enchanting feel to treasure when you’re all wrapped up and can come back to a warm fire.

What makes this property unique

Set in 55 acres of Somerset farm and woodland to explore, with a 6 Acre Ancient Wood with Bluebells and Wild garlic in Spring. Come and join us feed the animals in the mornings, book the fire pit to be out in nature, allow your body to settle sitting by the pond.

We are close to Longleat, Bath, Frome, Cheddar Gorge and many other Somerset attractions. Babington House is just around the corner.

And whilst here you can still work and keep up with the world as we have dedicated fibre internet upto 100 Mbps.
