So good I am wary of publicising it.

We rented the chalet as a base for a group cycling the Etape du Tour on Sunday 19th July who were arriving and leaving on different dates. The chalet is fitted and equipped to a high standard. The staff were friendly, flexible, helpful, informative and generally fantastic. The food was superb. The price was low and the whole experience of booking, paying, staying and leaving could not be improved. Chapeau Niccola and Graham. Thanks Ash.

Alpe DuZes 2015

We stayed at the Chalets Galibier and L'Etendard for a week with a group of 16 cyclists after a great week in 2014. We had a great week, the Chalets where perfect, well maintained, clean and with great vieuws. But our host Nicola and her partner Graham (chef) made it just compleet!! What a great people to see again, so kind and helpfull. We rented our Chalets self cateredfor most of the days but Graham prepared on two nights a great dinner. And what a great chef he is! We all loved his food! Would I recommand this Chalet? Definitely! Will we be back for AD6 2016? We haven't decide yet but no doubt we will stay here again if so.....

Perfect chalet for family ski holiday

We were two families staying together at L'Etendard. It was the perfect chalet for us. Th bedrooms are on two separate floors which works perfectly for two families. All the living space, boot room, dining area is in one place, which is ideal. The chalet was spotlessly clean all week, broken bulbs were replaced immediately. A broken drawer (not us!) was mended straight away. The food was the best we have ever had on a skiing holiday (and we have had a LOT of food over the years). The customer care was second to none, with kids meals served earlier. There is a Wii and an X box

Fantastic Escape at Chilled Mountain Chalet

What a fantastic discovery! Graham and Nicola are superb hosts , Graham is an enthusiastic and talented chef providing wonderful, tasty and generous meals whilst Nicola is an attentive ,kind and happy hostess for whom nothing was a problem -- 10/10 for customer service. Chilled Mountain chalet is quality, comfortable and immaculately clean accomodation which I plan to return to with my wife for her to also experience Nicola and Graham excellent attention. Thanks Graham for the use of the rain jacket in La Vaujany. The 2014 Marmotte was better again than last year !

La Marmotte

Six friends rented the Chalet for the Marmotte event. Stunning Views, very modern, comfortable and well equipped. The hosts Nicola and Graham were amazing. Graham is not just a chef but an artist, the meals were superb and always with a piece of theatre! A hidden Gem, and the highlight of the trip. Thanks.

Amazing food, great chalet, brilliant location!

We were a party of seven, including a set of grandparents and three children aged between 7 and 2. The chalet itself is really well organised, particularly with the kids play area upstairs. They have got EVERYTHING you could ever need to keep children of all ages entertained and to ensure parents get a break. The rooms are tastefully designed and homely with good linen and great views over the valley. The location is great, just a few moments walk from the main strip and the children didn't complain once about walking anywhere because it is all so easy. Chilled Mountain were incredibly helpful in organising skiing lessons, booking restaurants, helping with ski hire and organising transfers, all of which made this such a successful holiday. We wouldn't hesitate in staying here again - we can't imagine never eating Euan's amazing food again! Thank you Sarah and Euan and everyone at Chilled Mountain for making this holiday so brilliant for all of us.

Summer in Oz - Fantastic

Gorgeous chalet, super helpful staff, delicous food. First time staying in a catered chalet over the summer, but not the last. Oz is an ideal base for summer activity holidays - road biking, canyoning, rafting, mtbiking, hiking, paddleboarding, sailing, kayaking, zip wires, adventure park, summer luge ... we were kept busy and almost earned the delicous cakes and 3 course dinners :-)

Chilled Mountain Wonderful place, great people

Our 3rd stay with Chilled Mountain. It is everything a snowy holiday should be. Great skiing, and for those who don't like me, great walking and views. Our hosts, Tom and Ash, were exceptional. Five star food and drink for the entire stay. So friendly, they keep us coming back. The Chalets are immaculate and simply but beautifully furnished with amazingly comfortable beds! Truly feels like a home from home but with everything you could possibly need done for you. I just love it!

Great week of summer activities

Just spent a week with friends in one of the two Chilled Mountain chalets. We found so many things to do nearby - a novice section of the Via Ferrata at Alpe d'Huez (which was challenging enough for us!); took our kayaks out on the reservoir and rivers; walked in the beautiful countryside around Allemont; and tried out the Kamikaze Parc (high ropes course) which is a couple of minutes walk from the Chalet. In hindsight, a week was maybe too short! Our week was catered and the food rustled up by our chalet hosts (Tom and Aimee) was just stunning, and certainly kept us well fed for all our activities. At this time of year Oz Station is very quiet (being between winter and summer seasons) so the evenings were wonderfully tranquil, gazing at the moonlit mountains from the balcony. Wish I could have taken the view home with me. Thanks to all at Chilled Mountain for an amazing week.

Great chalet during Alpe d'Huzes week

In the week starting on the first of June, my fellow teammates and me rented two chalets of Chilled Mountain. Chalet Galibier and Chalet L’etendard. We were participating in the Dutch fund raising initiative alpe d’HuZES. An event which asks you to climb the Alpe d’Huez six times to raise money for the fight against cancer. The chalets were the excellent spot to finish our preparations. Nice and neat houses, perfect location, helpful housekeepers and excellent facilities. We chose to rent the chalets without catering but I am convinced that including the catering is an excellent choice as well!! I can imagine that me or one of my teammates will rent these chalets again as a starting point for cycling tours!

Chilled Mountain

Its the 3rd time we have spent Christmas at Chilled Mountain (Chalet L'Etendard) at Oz en Oisan with all our family ( 12 of us) and one year we took the chalet next door as well ( owned by the same company). The property is immaculate and our chalet hosts Tom and Ash have looked after us superlatively. The food has been of the highest standard and we feel truly spoilt. It has everything we look for, Ski in and Ski out, very close proximity of the lifts, exceptional catering. Being a high resort we have always had plenty of snow at Christmas, and the slopes cater for all abilities. Just one addition we would like is a Hot Tub outside to relax in after a days skiing, but after we are welcomed with some mulled wine even than doesn't seem a problem. Its absolute bliss to have all no worries and just be looked after. John and Carole Perver

About the host

Hosted by Nick & Jayne

Host profile image
Chilled Mountain is owned by two Brits afflicted with a great passion for snowboarding and skiing. Having spent many years trying to work out a way of living permanently in the snow, we have come up with the compromise of owning a chalet in the French Alps that we can occasionally visit when work (and family) allow.

Why they chose this property

We have spent the last decade carrying out extensive research into ski resorts – both on and off piste. We believe that Oz en Oisans has the perfect combination of a small family friendly village; an extensive ski area for skiers and snow boarders alike and short transfer times allowing you to get your ski holiday off to a great start. Our policy is very simple, we want you to enjoy some fantastic ski-ing and a relaxing break in a very beautiful place in the French Alps.

What makes this property unique

Based in the southern Alps, Oz en Oisans is easily accessible by plane or train. Airports within easy reach include Grenoble, Geneva, Lyon and Chambery. You can read more detailed directions to Oz en Oisans in the how to find us page on our website.

The Vaujany ski region extends from Vaujany to Alpe d'Huez , with 65 kms of runs and 35 slopes catering for every ski-ing ability.

One of Europe's most powerful artificial snow systems maintains snow levels at the lower slopes from 2700m to 1350m. At 3330m the Sarenne glacier ensures that high altitude glacier ski-ing is possible throughout the season!

At the end of the day it is possible to ski right back to the centre of the village where you can stop for a well earned refreshment, or walk the 50 metres back to your Chilled Mountain ski chalet.

Our chalet is within easy walking distance of the lift up to Vaujany and Alpe D'Huez.
