Summary:
The perfect seaside getaway, Cosy Coastal is a beautiful two bedroom apartment in the heart of Whitby town centre. Brand new for 2021, this stylish, split level apartment features beautifully curated interiors throughout. Sleeping up to four guests, it is ideal for families and small groups of friends looking for a staycation by the sea. Just a short stroll from Whitby’s Blue Flag beach and with many restaurants, shops and cafes on the doorstep, Cosy Coastal really does have it all!
The Space:
Cosy Coastal has a light and spacious living area. Reminiscent of Malibu beach houses, there is a laidback and minimal look. Featuring white paneling, light wood and neutral colour schemes, there is a tranquil feel. A large flat screen TV and a chaise lounge style sofa make the perfect setup for relaxing after a fun-filled day at the beach.
The apartment has a bright kitchen diner. Boasting modern appliances and cookware, you’ll be able to prepare meals easily during your stay. The dining area includes a white table and four wooden chairs so you can gather your loved ones together and enjoy home cooked meals together.
The family bathroom is located on this floor and features a shower, WC and basin.
Take the stairs up to the next level and you’ll find two bedrooms. Both rooms have sloped ceilings and skylight windows which create cosy spaces. The master bedroom boasts a comfortable king size bed and an en-suite shower room. Perfect for children and teenagers, the second bedroom is a twin.
Golden Lion Apartments is home to three separate apartments with a maximum capacity of 8. If you are looking for a stay for a large group, there are often opportunities to rent all three apartments together. Please send us an email with your preferred dates for availability and prices.
Home Truths:
- The apartment is located in the centre of Whitby and is therefore subjected to seagulls noise.
- The apartment is opposite a pub and there can be noise, especially on the weekends.
- The building has a number of floors and the stairs can be tight. Please note Cosy Coastal is on the third and fourth floors. The apartment therefore may not be suitable for those less physically able.

The Neighborhood:
Golden Lion Apartments are located in Whitby town centre so you’ll be perfectly situated to explore the many restaurants, cafes and shops on the doorstep.
Nestled on the West Cliff, you’ll find fun arcades and you’ll be able to sample the catch of the day in one of Whitby’s famous fish restaurants which line Pier Road. The Blue Flag West Cliff beach and promenade is just a short 5-minute walk from the property so you can really make the most of your coastal escape.
The other side of Whitby is full of narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques and pubs. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around:
Golden Lion Apartments are located in the centre of Whitby so the town can easily be explored on foot.
Whitby train station is just a short 5-minute walk away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
