LOCATION:

Glorious Sandown Bay is on your doorstep, and voted one of the Island’s best beaches, providing a long stretch of sand and great swimming waters. Along this stretch you can see the red sandstone through to the white chalk of Culver cliff, and it is around here that fossil remains can be found. Sandham Garden’s play area is just across the road from the apartment with go karting sky nets and crazy golf and children’s play area. A short flat walk further along towards Yaverland, and you will also find the Wild Heart Animal Sanctuary formerly the isle of Wight Zoo, famous for its big cats. The town of Sandown is brimming with attractions to entertain visitors, most of them right on the beach front itself, so you never have to stray too far from the golden sands. Should you enjoy a coastal walk, you can walk the length of Sandown Bay from Yaverland past the Pier along the seaside revetment all the way to the popular neighbouring town of Shanklin. If you are keen on an active holiday, the bay is hugely popular with water-sports, and you’ll certainly see people paddle boarding, surfing, catamaran and dingy sailing, windsurfing and kite surfing, depending on the weather.

We had a lovely 6 nights at Sandy Shores

We had a lovely 6 nights at Sandy Shores. The views from the lounge are amazing! I loved preparing our meals watching out to sea from the kitchen and it’s a bonus when you can watch the sea and TV at the same time. The apartment is exceptionally clean and comfortable and the location is great being able to see across to and walk into both Sandown and Shanklin. The rooms are so much larger than expected and we loved staying here. The under cover parking was also a bonus. Access was a little confusing as we have never encountered a key code on a door handle before and were looking for a key box, but the lady on the phone was extremely helpful.

Wonderful Apartment

We had a lovely stay at this apartment and most impressed with the cleanliness, modern design and not forgetting the amazing view. The whole booking was very simple and must mention Shannon who was so helpful and saved us money on the ferry crossing. Would definitely return and book through The Island Holiday Company.

An absolutely lovely apartment that provided us with a great base to explore the Isle of Wight from.

We are a family of 4 - our girls are a bit older. There was plenty of room for us all in the apartment - view from the lounge/kitchen area is beautiful and very relaxing. You can easily walk into Sandown from the apartment - whilst there is a steeper pathway that takes you directly down to the promenade, you can also walk a much flatter roadway. The apartment was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed for the few times that we cooked inside. Could just have done with a more usable shower in the main bathroom - it's just a small handheld shower in the bath tub which meant the four of us shared the lovely walk-in shower in the ensuite bathroom - but we managed!

8/10 Good

Lovely modern apartment

Quality 2bed 2bath apartment with full kitchen (everything provided, except for kitchen roll) large seating area with bifold doors to balcony with uninterupted view of the sea. Good safe parking. Not walkable to food shops but Tesco express is 2 min drive and Morrisons supermarket and petrol is 2 miles away. Sandown is a sad place and would be better called Rundown. A number of large hotels overlooking the beach are closed and dilapidated and the town centre is unpleasant with unattractive restaurants Shanklin is much better with a number of good pubs with restaurants, all together, at he bottom of the old town which is only a 5 min drive Nearest and only town with shops of any size is Newport which has a large modern M&S Rest of the island is very attractive with small towns and villages with most amenities designed for families.

Really lovely apartment

We have had a really lovely week in Sandy Shores. Very well equipped apartment, furnished to a very high standard including a very comfy bed! Loved the bifold doors which made the view even more amazing. We had a week of warm sunny weather and the only thing that would have made it more perfect would have been a lightweight, summer duvet!

Access was a little confusing as we have never encountered a key code on a door handle before and were looking for a key box, but the lady on the phone was extremely helpful. The only little things I would add to the apartment would be a shelf in the shower and a toilet roll holder on the wall, so you don’t have to bend over all the time. As I said, little things. We had such an amazing time and would definitely return. Thank you.

A bit of luxury for our festival weekend

Perfectly situated, beautifully furnished. Communication was good. Dishwasher wasn’t working & wasn’t emptied; lacked toilet enough toilet roll. Nothing that would deter us booking again!
