This was our second visit to Antigua but our first time at Starr house. Contact with the owner Nicky was flawless. We were met at the airport by Titi he had been recommended by Nicky for our car rental he drove us to the house where the rental was waiting. The agent was also there to show us around the house. The house is well maintained and clean the kitchen is well equipped. The pool and deck area are very private and the view is spectacular. I would definitely rent this home again it is in a great location for restaurants and beaches.
Starr House is a perfect place to stay in Antigua! It has stunning views of Falmouth. It was very clean, well-equipped and very comfortable. Nicky was so helpful with our booking. You do need a hire car. There are some very good restaurants nearby with 5 Senses and Cloggys as our favourites. Excellent snorkelling at Galleon beach, we saw sea turtles and stingrays. Starr House is highly recommend.
For fear of again never finding an open week, I must say the Starr House is amazing! Perfectly kept. Spectacular views. Wonder host.
Beautifully perched on a southern facing slope overlooking Falmouth Harbor, you get the best of both sunrises and sunsets. The pool was very private and proved to be the focal point of the living space.
The breeze over Monks Hill above was refreshing and kept the mosquitoes mostly at bay. However nets at night were necessary.
The local beaches and restaurants of English Harbor were easily assessable. The local grocery stores were well stocked and had everything one would need. The kitchen was well equipped and the gas grill next to the outdoor eating area was key.
A car rental is a must. Driving the island is very easy and can also be quite an adventure. A 4WD is needed for the more interesting areas.
Highly recommended!
We booked this property without knowing much about the island and it turned out to be exactly where we would have chosen had we known. Falmouth Harbor was delightful and accessible within minutes. Our favorite restaurants were upstairs and down at the Yacht Club, Cloggy's and Captain's Quarters since all were on the water. Also Catherine's on Pidgeon Beach where we had a drink although at the other end, Bumpkins had our favorite drink ever, Banana Pina Colada! Sunday or Thursday evenings at Shirley Heights Look-out is not to be missed either. (Reservations are required during covid.)
We rented a car and easily got around by preloading destinations into phone while on wifi for gps. On our Tropical Adventures catamaran tour we had them pick us up and return for $20 each which was great. They also let us stay longer in St Johns afterward to explore a little.
As for the house, impeccable in every way, sparkling clean and ample supplies (and masks) if necessary. Our leisurely mornings were the best, just enjoying the tranquility and view, always outdoors. Even when a rain squall comes through, you're protected at the outdoor table and is pretty to watch.
Every amenity is provided and fresh flowers add a finishing touch. We had no issues with mosquitos but kept the doors closed since all windows were screened with shutters.
This house is my favorite type of rental, no clutter yet decorated with just the right amount of local ambiance.
Each year we travel a week away from the cold and snow to the Caribbean, and this year we picked Antigua. This house was great!
Situated about 40 minutes from the airport, this house is nestled in the side of a hill with sweeping views over English Harbour. This is a nice side of the island for people who want to be away from the city center/cruise ships; English Harbour is where all of the yachts dock, and so it has its own night life and great restaurant offerings within about an 8 minute drive from the house. With a car, exploring beaches and hiking options from the house were also relatively easy to do.
The house itself seems new; extremely clean, well equipped, and they even provide a service that rotates out fresh drinking water jugs several times a week. It did get hot some days without A/C, but the fans at night worked out, and the mosquito netting on all beds/screens on the windows help keep the bugs at bay. A collection of beach towels, bug spray and sunscreen available at the house were welcomed, especially when you have limited packing room. We spent a lot of time outside on the deck to relax and swim the in large pool overlooking the harbour. You will get some noise from the neighboring animals, insects, and some road noise below, but that seems to be the case at any island we've been to. The power did go out twice during our stay due to outages on that side of the island, but nothing we could do about it!
Property manager was very responsive and met us at the property for check in. I would recommend renting a car (4x4 preferred) to explore the island and to get to/from the house. Great property!
One of the best spots on the island. Falmouth is by far the place to be because it close to the best restaurants and beaches. You will NOT be disappointed. The Starr House is amazing and see will definitely be back. Thank you very much Nick.
Great villa with a fantastic pool, super local agent, we had a wonderful stay, thank you

Starr House is a modern, well designed house with stunning views in a prime location
Our party of 4 adults stayed in Starr House for a month in February and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The house is immaculately presented. It is very well designed with large kitchen / living area, two large bedrooms one with ensuite bathroom and a separate bathroom. There is a mezzanine floor with a sofa bed, tv and separate storage area The outside space is good with large dining area, swimming pool and sun beds. The house is situated on a hill overlooking Falmouth with English Harbour in the distance. Probably one of the best locations on the island. There are similar properties dotted around the hill with well maintained and attractive gardens which gives the impression of a nice residential area.
The property is managed by Anna and Peter Todd who are very attentive but in a low key way generally leaving you alone to enjoy your holiday. For longer stays like ours the house is cleaned weekly and Grace did a wonderful job for us. There are plenty of clean towels and linen and the house is generally well equipped with washing machine, dishwasher and a good supply of crockery, glasses and cutlery. The gardens are well maintained, the swimming pool cleaned and checked weekly and rubbish collected on a very regular basis.
Falmouth and English Harbour together represent a very good location particularly for those interested in sailing. There are local beaches which are easily accessible and other beaches which can be reached by quiet and pleasant drives through the countryside. There are a number of good restaurants again within easy access from the house and local shops for most grocery needs.
The house is owned by Nicky and Daryll Starr. Nicky handles the administration and is very efficient and pleasant to deal with.
We have stayed in three other houses in Antigua before and Starr House is by far the best in by far the best location

Escape to Antigua - hope to return soon!
We just returned home following a very nice week in Antigua. We love this place! It’s a great location with incredible views. Everything about the place is very user friendly and it's very well appointed and equipped. We've stayed in lots of Villas throughout the Islands, and this one ranks right up there with the best. Cheers!

Beyond Lovely
We arrived at Starr House following a destination wedding on Nevis and were in somewhat desperate need of downtime. Starr House was absolutely the perfect place for that. The home is bright, airy, well appointed and spotless. The views of Falmouth Bay (and the start of the AYC Round The Island Race!) were fabulous. We lived outside - on the spacious deck and in the pool. The owner and the property manager were excellent to deal with. You won’t be disappointed by this lovely sanctuary.

Fabulous Experience
My wife and I stayed at Starr House in mid-November. We were greeted by the manager who had placed fresh cut flowers, which was a wonderful way to start our visit. She showed us around the house and all of the amenities, and was very pleasant and helpful. The house had everything that we needed, including a kitchen stocked very well with plates and cutlery and everything else that we needed. Nothing was lacking. The bed is more than comfortable and my wife loved the shower and bathroom area.
We, however, spent the vast majority of time outside on the beautiful deck next to the very private pool. There is plenty of seating and the view of Falmouth Harbor is fantastic. The pool has colorful lights that you can turn on at night that provide an excellent ambience. There is more than enough seating and the chairs are comfortable. The main bedroom doors open up onto the deck, providing a wonderful view from the bedroom and adding convenience in its location. The house doors and can be secured with latches providing a wonderful breeze to the house. Air conditioning is not needed and would not be used.
The location is excellent as well. Not only is the view of Falmouth Harbor wonderful, but the proximity to English Harbor is very convenient. Just a few minutes down the road from the house is a small grocery that had everything that we needed. You can get plenty of food, drinks, and ice at surprisingly very reasonable prices. There are more restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive than are needed. Waterfront dining can be found within a 2-3 minute drive.
We also did a lot of beach hopping and the highlight of our trip was the helicopter tour of Montserrat.....we highly recommend it.
Our experience was excellent and we had no issues whatsoever. Communication with the owners before the visit very helpful and they provided a great amount of information in a very timely fashion. We have traveled throughout most of the Caribbean and our experience was superior. I highly recommend, without hesitation, this house for travelers to Antigua.

Lovely house on incredable Antigua
Starr house is a lovely unpretentious tasteful villa with a lovely view of the harbour which with the pool in front is quite spectacular
We found the position of the villa really good to visit all of the places and beaches we wanted to see of which we did many. For those who like horse riding the stables are at the end of the road. We went to randevous bay from the stables in a jeep , hair raising but the beach is gorgeous.
The people of Antigua are the nicest friendliest people I have ever met.
Didn't like the mosquitoes! Who does. We found by closing the doors at dusk and dawn and closing the shutters kept them out but there were mosquitoes in the area upstairs (we never went up there) there are mosquito nets over the beds. Personally we found the heat too much without air con. There was an extra fan put in for us but still!
All in all Starr house is a lovely place to stay feel lucky indeed just great!

The property was very nice and in a great location.
The property was fresh, neat, clean, and nicely appointed. The location took advantage of the gorgeous views of the hills and the harbor. The pool and outdoor dining areas were our favorite places to be. The louvered doors and windows allowed the breezes to circulate throughout the house. We were a short drive from multiple dining possibilities in the harbor vicinity. Our only challenge was the restricted water supply, but we managed to conserve.

A near perfect property so well positoned
We have visited Antigua several times in recent years and were eager to stay at Starr House after seeing it a couple of years ago but then it was not available.
The property is indeed what it says it is and the photos indicate, if not more so, and its facilities and positioning are close to perfection. Some may baulk at the lack of aircon in any of the rooms but the Trade Winds provide more than adequate cooling on most days - just relax with the breeze and enjoy!. Skinny dipping in the multi coloured LED illuminated pool water at night certainly has its merits here! We had planned to venture out more often than we did but simply relaxing by the (large) plunge pool or just taking in the breathtaking views all around just proved irresistible all too often. Anna and Peter (Local managing agents) could not have been more attentive and responsive. Falmouth Harbour is a good place to base yourself for an Antiguan holiday with enough in the locale to provide everything if you don't wish to travel out of the bay. Lovely restaurants and bars of all themes and standards, best beaches, sailing/water sports and historic sites all near by. There is no doubt too you are still within the heart of a living local community and its clear most keep guard dogs! :-) but there is no sense of unfriendliness or lack of safety, On this visit we took time to off road it to explore hidden historic sites and the more remote beaches (not far away) using the 4x4 rented SUV that's essential to maximise your opportunities and cope with the many varying road/track standards here. We heartily recommend Cloggies and Papas for local eating and socialising but be wary that some other key places are closed from June to October - but don't always advertise that. Self catering for a relaxed breakfast on the dining veranda was blissful every day. We cannot but do anything but praise Starr House ... and we have seen stayed in a few wonderful places in Antigua already ..... Book it now if you can.

Wonderful Villa
My wife and I spent a week at the Starr villa, and from the moment we walked onto the balcony, we were in love. From every aspect, we had no disappointments. It was extremely clean and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend staying here when traveling to Antigua. Working with the Starrs was flawless, and the information they provided was fabulous. We explored the entire island, and we learned if we return to Antigua, we will only stay at the Starr house.

Great House, Great Location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Starr House. It is a very well kept and modern house with every amenity you could want for a relaxing stay in Antigua.
Our first few days the traditional trade wind breeze had gone on vacation, but with the open layout and fans the house was still quite comfortable.
Once the breeze came back it was simply a spectacular place to unwind and enjoy the view.
most of our group was more than content to hang out by the pool reading and relaxing all day.
It's a bit far to walk to the Dockyard or AYC, but we setup a schedule with a local driver who was prompt, very sociable, and quite reasonable costs.
