Nearby you have a village inn which is a two-minute stroll from the cottage, serving local good priced food along with fine ales. The market town of Kirkbymoorside is three miles down the road offering local shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. A little further afield you also have the lovely towns of Helmsley and Thirsk, along with the fantastic North York Moors giving you an abundance of beautiful scenic walks and bike trails. The cottage is also well placed to visit many of the local visitor attractions including Riveaulx Abbey, Nunnington Hall and Castle Howard. Blacksmiths Cottage is cosy and welcoming at any time of the year.

Time out

On arriving we noticed front door was very dirty. Was expecting a welcoming Yorkshire hospitality surprise but nothing. The windows were really dirty and loads of cobwebs. The bedding was nice and clean and we slept really well. Our neighbour Neil was very helpful and offered us some kindling and firelighters thst first night he even got the fir going for us. Such a lovely man nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Neil. Gillamòor is a lovely village the local pub served good food and plenty of lovely walks nearby.
