Beautifully appointed and stylish large house with seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms located in Cardiff’s stunning waterfront leisure destination at Mermaid Quay in Cardiff Bay.
The higgihaus@butecrescent is a beautifully appointed and stylish five-storey Grade 11 listed house that was, until recently, operating as a highly rated boutique hotel. Located in an awesome location in Cardiff Bay only moments from the bars, restaurants and leisure attractions of Mermaid Quay this large house is comprised of seven spacious and beautifully appointed ensuite bedrooms, an amazing and cavernous basement kitchen, dining and sitting room that is perfect for groups on a hen or stag weekend, and off-road parking for up to five cars.
The kitchen, diner and sitting room in the basement is HUGE. The kitchen contains everything a budding Gordon Ramsey and team of sous-chefs might conceivably need to cater for the hungry hordes: A huge gas hob, two ovens, a combination microwave oven, an American-style fridge freezer, and a large capacity dishwasher. The dining table can accommodate 16 diners. There’s also a separate breakfast station that incorporates an extra fridge in case the large fridge can’t accommodate the weekend’s beer or wine!
At one end of the basement is a large sitting area equipped with sofas, bean bags, and a 60inch large screen TV. Between the sitting area and the dining table, there's plenty of room for higgihausmates to play board games, read, listen to music, watch Freeview TV, catch a movie (Netflix) or just relax and unwind with a cold beer or glass of wine.
In the bedrooms, you'll find comfortable mattresses, crisp cotton linens and duvets and pillows that are as soft as a bag of kittens. Two of the bedrooms contain zip and link beds that can be set up as either a kingsize or two singles.
The higgihaus@butecrescent is perfect for large groups visiting the city for a 'milestone' event like a hen or stag weekend. The basement is huge, the walls are thick and the neighbours are a mix of pubs, bars, restaurants, supermarkets and leisure venues. Please, however, do note that whilst we're delighted to host hen or stag groups visiting the city, this is subject to review and acceptance of the house rules. PLEASE NOTE: This property will sleep up to 16. The price quoted is for up to 14. For each additional guest, you'll need to add £140 inclusive of VAT and cleaning for a 2-night stay on the weekend.
The front door to the building has a keyless entry system, and you will be given the entry code 24 hours prior to check-in. Video cameras are provided front and rear for your comfort and safety.
The higgihaus@butecrescent is a self-contained house for your exclusive use during your stay in Cardiff. There is no need for you to interact with us but should you need anything we'd be delighted to help. #teamhiggi are a friendly bunch who love Cardiff and are a veritable goldmine of places to see, things to do, restaurants to eat at, bars worth a visit, and how to get about. higgihaus@butecrescent is a mere stone's throw from Cardiff’s stunning waterfront leisure destination at Mermaid Quay (so close in fact that it would be a pretty poor throw of the stone). Home to 30+ restaurants, bars, and cafés, Mermaid Quay also plays host to a comedy club, an Everyman Cinema, and the Aquabus waterbus service that offers trips around the Bay and beyond and to the city centre. The centre of Cardiff is less than 8 minutes distant by car and is easily reached by train, bus or taxi.
Parking
The higgihaus@butecrescent has off-road parking at the rear of the property and with a little bit of juggling, could accommodate up to five cars (depending on size!). Should you have more cars than can park at the rear, then the 380-capacity Mermaid Quay car park is but a one-minute walk away.
Check-in is anytime after 3PM and check out by 11AM.
Please respect our house, which is your home for your stay and do please note that whilst we're delighted to host groups visiting the city, parties or events at the property are strictly forbidden.
Strictly no smoking, parties, or events.
No pets unless by prior arrangement.
Please respect our neighbours keep noise to an appropriate level at all times don't scream, shout, swear or have loud or crass conversations outside.
Please don't play music at an inappropriate level at any time outside.
If you do play music inside please make sure it isn't audible outside and keep the windows and doors shut.
Please ensure that the only people in the house are named and registered guests.
Strictly no smoking inside or near the house. If you must smoke then please do so at the end of the rear garden and clean up your butts. If you or any of your guests smoke inside the house during your stay you will forfeit your security deposit.
Do not use the gravel area at rear after 11.00pm for anything other than parking vehicles (you can still smoke there but please ensure any conversation or noise is kept to a minimum).
Upon departure please leave the property clean and tidy and ensure anything used in the kitchen is either washed up and put away or in the dishwasher. Please take out the bins and recycling, and leave the property and exterior as you found them.
Please don't use glitter or confetti bombs anywhere on the property as it makes a mess that is very difficult for us to remove. If there is evidence of glitter or confetti use, then we will unfortunately need to levy an additional cleaning charge of £50 which will be taken from the security/damage deposit.
Please ensure all windows and doors are locked at night and when leaving and please respect the neighbours and travel to and from the house quietly.
A security/damage deposit of £300 will be required to secure the booking (Airbnb doesn't take this money from your card unless there is a claim). If there is no reason for a deduction then the security deposit this will be paid back via transfer within a seven days.
Please note within the properties we have Minut devices that record decibels to ensure noise remains at an appropriate level. We also have Ring door cameras to the front and rear of the property for security purposes.
