Family friendly (adults and children), tranquil Connemara village surroundings in modern comfort

Sleeps 6 (max 8), with 4 bedrooms: 1 triple ensuite (1 double, 1 single + a cot where required); 1 ensuite room with double bed; 1 room with 2 single beds and 1 room with 1 single bed sharing an adjacent private bathroom.

Pets allowed, with extra cleaning fee. Pets are not to enter the bedrooms or climb on the furniture.

Large light and elegant living room and diner with tv (Freesat) , dvd's, CD player & traditional peat stove.

Well equipped family kitchen with dishwasher, micro, cooker etc

4th bathroom (wet-room with shower and toilet) off the kitchen and with wheel-chair access. NB: The house has wheelchair access from the outside and both sleeping and bathroom facilities on the ground floor.

The perfect location for fishing in Lough Corrib and Lough Mask, walking, cycling, exploring the countryside, hill walking, & sailing on the loughs, A great base to visit Cong and the Quiet Man, Cong Abbey, Ashford House and grounds, Maam Valley, Kylemore, the coast of Connemara as well as the mountains, rivers, lakes and valleys. 45 mins drive from vibrant Galway City and Galway Bay.

Like the famous 'Quiet Man' with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara, the cult 70’s film 'Un taxi mauve' ( a Purple Taxi ) with Charlotte Rampling, Fred Astaire, Peter Ustinov, Philippe Noiret, Agostina Belli was filmed in the vicinity of Cornamona and surrounding villages and hills. Kommentar zum Haus Cornamona

Im Grossen und Ganzen war der Aufenthalt angenehm, Umgebung und ruhige Lage sind ansprechend. Wir waren wohl die ersten Gäste nach langer Zeit (Winterruhe) und hatten in der ersten Tagen mit mangelnder Heizleistung zu tun. Versuche des verantwortlichen Ansprechpartners, die Heizung zu programmieren, um eine stets angenehme Temperatur zu erreichen, schlugen fehl. Wir mussten oft boostern, was dann zu Überhitzung führte. Auch hier gilt: zum Beginn der Saison sollen alle Funktionen geprüft und eingestellt werden. Manko: eine Toilette im Obergeschoss, die für 2 Bewohner vorgesehen ist, ist von einem Zimmerfenster einsehbar. Wir hatten bei der Auswahl nicht berücksichtigt, dass eine Toilette/Bad im Untergeschoss liegt.

Very spacious home, beautiful area, walking distance to market and local pub. Also close to Cong where there is a great butcher/specialty market. Kitchen was well equiped for our Christmas celebration.

Roomy house

Enjoyable stay in a beautiful area of Ireland. It was about 10-15 minute drive from Cong which is a beautiful village. The house is a great size, good sized bedrooms. I would like to see new towels and bath mats in the house as ours weren't great. Shower towels were small and some were fraying at the edge and very faded. The mats in the bathroom looked quite worn. The oven could have been cleaner and the trays used for the oven. One of the double beds was very creaky when you lay on it, think it would need replaced. The TV channels could do with updating, ie. Netflix or Amazon prime. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in the house and the beautiful scenery.

Sehr schönes Haus in der Natur

Wir haben den Aufenthalt im Haus genossen; wirklich zu empfehlen. Es gibt einen ebenfalls schönen Garten, den wir allerdings aufgrund des sehr regnerischen Wetters nur einmal 1,5 Stunden nutzen konnten. Auch die Natur drumherum ist sehr schön. Leider liegt es aber für uns zu einsam - es ist nur ein sehr kleiner Ort, der sich über eine größere Fläche sehr verteilt. Letztlich nur ein sehr kleiner Laden und ein Pub an der zentralen Straßenkreuzung. Spazieren gehen oder wandern ab Unterkunft nur an der Straße entlang. Eigentlich muss man immer mit dem Auto ein paar Kilometer fahren, um Etwas zu unternehmen. Insofern wäre unsere Wahl beim nächsten Mal - trotz des schönen Hauses/Gartens - ein anderes, etwas zentraleres/belebteres Ziel.

An enjoyable stay

The house manager already contacted us before our arrival, which was convenient as it provided us with his email address, which later proved useful. We arrived an hour early, but were allowed in, although not all preparations had been finished. All in all, a very friendly welcome. The house is large and well-equipped. However, the matrasses of some beds are quite worn-out and might be exchanged. We visited Letterfrack and took the (very busy) hike to Diamond Hill and Kylemore Abbey. Cong is a very busy place with a lot of traffic but nice surroundings. We can recommend the Corrib cruise to Inchagoill Island - above all, the stories of the captain. The two highlights of the week were two hikes in the vicinity of Mount Gable. Visit John J. Burke's Bar and Restaurant in Clonbur and ask for some guidance. They will first provide you with delicious food and subsequently with a lot of useful advice.

Eine schöne Woche in toller Landschaft

Das Haus ist gut geschnitten, jedes Zimmer hat ein eigenes Bad. Zum Pub und einem kleinen Lebensmittelladen sind es nur 5 Gehminuten. Das Haus ist extrem hellhörig wenn jemand im oberen Stockwerk läuft. Die Fußböden waren zum teil nicht sauber geputzt.

Der Aufenthalt im Haus war wie immer gut. Einzig die Toilette im 1. OG funktionierte nicht richtig. Trotz Meldung des Fehlers am Anreisetag wurde keine Reparatur bis Ende der Woche vorgenommen. Für den nun stolzen Wochenpreis (Aufschlag 40% gegenüber dem letzten Jahr) erwarten wir doch ein bisschen mehr Qualität

Peaceful and quiet

The lady who was at handover was very helpful, and helped us with the phone number for the vet when we needed one. It is a very spacious and well equipped property. Private and quiet. Not a great choice for tourist destinations, but ideal to get away from it all. Cong nearby is beautiful and plenty of watering holes . Local shop at the end of the street . Disabled friendly Garden is enclosed but if you have a dog smaller than a French bulldog , there is a space below the gates they may be able to get through

Relaxing in Cornamona

The cottage is beautiful spacious, 4 beds/4baths, it has everything you would need. The gardens are spacious with patio furniture and deck chairs/picnic table. Also, some cows visit everyday. Owner very responsive, Cornamona village is lovely and you can walk to the pub! The village of Cong is approx 11kms away, don't miss Cong abbey. We had lunch in Puddleduck's, great food. There is a Spar grocery store, and of course it is famous for the movie the Quiet Man with big John and Maureen O'Hara. We did archery/falconry/and clay shooting at Ashford stunning.

From initial contact to booking, through to our stay everything was seamless. Communication with the owner was rapid and very accommodating. The property is capably managed by Brid who was so helpful throughout our stay. The house is spacious and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils/cookware, a generous range of books and board games were made available to us. It has 4 well proportioned bedrooms and a lovely outdoor seating area. It is very well appointed for touring the area. We made day trips to Delphi, Clifden, Oughterard , Kylemore etc. The village has a small but functional grocery store and a beautiful pub. Overall a very enjoyable holiday in an exceptionally clean and well stocked house. Everything you need for a family holiday.

Great Choice

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It is spacious and has everything that you need to enjoy your holiday. The manager was extremely helpful and dealt with any of our queries immediately, and Brid, the lady that met us at the house was a pleasure to meet and was a great source of local information. The scenery in the area is beautiful and it is extremely relaxing.

Our family come from this region of Ireland and though like many Irish families, we do not live in Connemara all the year round, it is wonderful to have such a beautiful house to come home to when we get a chance. The air of peace and the lovely country views make it very special...not to mention the great access to the best fishing lakes in Ireland.

Why they chose this property

Ti' Aine offers comfort, modern facilities and easy access in every direction, to one of the most beautiful areas of Ireland. Situated in a quiet spot on the edge of Cornamona Village, it lies between 2 of the best fishing lakes in Europe, let alone Ireland. The mountain scenery from Ti' AIne's big, private enclosed garden is breathtaking. You can either leave the car in your driveway and walk across the hills with the spectacular panorama of Lake Corrib below, or drive to a multiplicity of superb destinations within easy reach, from the pretty village of Cong to Clifden on the Wild Atlantic Way.

This must be one of the most comfortable houses around with its 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, wheelchair access and stunning views. The peat stove is an added touch of tradition among the modern home-comforts. The Views of the hills and the private garden make it ideal to throw away the cares of daily life and really relax!
