Set against a backdrop of dramatic mountain scenery, Carrie’s Gate is ideal for couples and families alike and for years has provided the perfect location for romantic getaways, family adventures and walkers of all ages and abilities, with Coniston Old Man and the surrounding fells quite literally on your doorstep.
For a leisurely day you can stroll from the cottage down to the lake shore area and indulge in a relaxing trip on the National Trust’s faithfully restored steamboat Gondola, followed by afternoon tea and cake at the Bluebird Café, featured in recent TV dramas set in the Lakes. The owners have provided excellent facilities to create a genuine ‘home from home’ experience to ensure you’ll get the very best out of your stay including high quality broadband so younger members of your party will be happy to know Instagram and Facebook are still available. There’s a Smart TV with free OnDemand and Netflix accounts, plus a great selection of books and games for those rainy days. Two private parking spaces are available at the end of the terrace.
