The charm and character of this lovely property start at the stable style front door, and as soon as you open it up you are welcomed by the exposed slate walls and inviting wood burner. The open plan living/kitchen/dining area draws you into this quirky property and you are immediately reminded of days gone by. The living area has a sociable feel with comfortable chairs and sofas to encourage you to sit and talk about the day’s events in front of a roaring wood burner. Similarly, the kitchen and dining area lend themselves to inclusive chatting over a glass of fine wine. The first floor is accessed by a narrow staircase and offers a family bathroom and the first double room, a second twisting staircase leads to the master bedroom which is spacious and continues the character of the property with its exposed beams. As you venture outside there is a small patio area which overlooks the large, shared garden and at the bottom of the garden is the River Crake which offers peace for those looking to relax to the soundtrack of its bubbling waters.
The property is two doors up from the local pub and the village of Spark Bridge itself offers pleasant walks by the River Crake. Only 5 miles away is the lovely market town of Ulverston. This pretty town boasts cobbled streets leading to a variety of independent shops and is well serviced with pubs, restaurants and cafés to cater to every taste. A little further out but within 20 minutes’ drive you can arrive at Lake Windermere and the bustling town of Bowness on Windermere 10 minutes’ drive after that. The Lake District offers every conceivable outdoor pursuit from sailing to climbing, walking and many more, but for the less active there are many other delights to enjoy such as Michelin starred restaurants, stately homes, museums, festivals and of course some of the most stunning views and landscapes that inspired world renowned writers like Beatrix Potter and Wordsworth who chose to call the Lake District home.
