I was overall pleased with the Condo. It was a bit smaller than the pictures depicted. The mattress feels a bit worn out. The grounds, people, and atmosphere are second to none.

Westwinds 4806 Winter 2024

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Westwinds property is immaculately clean and well-maintained. Every time we came through the lobby - either from the beach or elsewhere - someone was always mopping the floor or cleaning the rugs. We never saw so much as any trace of sand anywhere. The unit is located on the 13th floor with a beautiful, unobstructed view of the beach. The balcony has some sturdy but comfortable chairs and a high top table where you can enjoy your morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. Unfortunately the weather while we were there did not allow us to enjoy the balcony as much as we would have liked. The unit is small but perfect for two people. It was spotlessly clean but is in need of some improvements/upgrades. For instance, the dishwasher is not attached to the counter so when you open the door, it tips forward and appears as though the dishes are going to fall out. The sheets on the bed are cheap and do not fit properly. Every morning we had to pull the fitted sheet back into place over the corners of the mattress. While it’s nice the unit offers both a Keurig and a regular coffee maker, the Mr. Coffee maker in the unit is cheap and takes quite some time (10+ minutes) to brew a pot of coffee. And oddly, there was no paper towel holder in the kitchen. While some of these things may seem trivial, they are minor inconveniences/annoyances that when you are spending extra money to stay right on the beach, you do not want to detract from the overall experience.

Great Location and Grounds

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The resort was great and the staff we encountered, entering and exiting were also great. The condo was very nice, except for the bed. Sheets didn't really fit so they were all over the place and the mattress really, really needs to be replaced. Kitchen-ware was not good but overall everything else was very good.

Wonderful location with great ocean view

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental looked the same in person as in the photos. We had a wonderful view of the ocean. However we arrived about 35 min after check in and the cleaning crew was still in the condo. It stunk horrible and I figured there was trash left behind and when we came back up after giving them another 30 minutes it would smell better. Unfortunately it did not. We aired the condo out only for the smell to return. After looking we decided it was coming from the garbage disposal. We cleaned it with soap and ran it with hot water. Still the same so we had to keep the stopper in that side of the sink. The golf cart also wouldn’t charge so we called and someone was sent immediately. The gentleman was very nice and explained that the cord needed switched out and plugged into a GFI outlet that worked. He said he did those and that all should be good. It wasn’t. We went to Baytown to watch the fireworks and the battery was almost dead and we made it back right before the battery died completely. There were also dirty rugs left in the closet by the washer and dryer. The room def could have been cleaned a lot better. We found a half drank bottle of root beer under the bed too. We still had a wonderful time but the cleanliness lacked and the maintenance for the golf cart did as well.

Condo on Miramar Beach

Reviewer Comments: The condo had an awesome view of the ocean and fireworks. It was very clean; unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the king size bed.. They had two full size beds put together to create a king size bed. The mattress was old and squeaky. The condo did not have any clocks on the wall nor in the bedroom. The toilet was very low to the floor. The toilet would not of been able to accommodate a tall person properly. Sorry I cannot rate the property management, since I did not see any. Everything was done via website.

Great Location! REALLY terrible bed!!!!

This condo has a great location and the golf cart made it so easy to get around the resort. The view was beautiful from the balcony. The condo was clean and the size was ok for our family of 4. We have an 8 yr old and a 10 yr old so the couch bed was big enough for them but children older than that would not fit. The couch bed was very uncomfortable and there wasn't a blanket for it...just sheets. Luckily, we were able to borrow one from my mom in a different condo (we returned it after use). The reason for my 3 star review is because the bed in the master is the WORST!!!!!! There have been many reviews stating this and the owner still hasn't replaced it. One response to this statement was "this is a personal preference". I am telling you there isn't any adult that would say that thing is comfortable. It was super lumpy, not even and LOUD with any movement. The pillows are really big and fluffy too. It definitely needs to be replaced ASAP. We won't stay in this condo again simply because of the bed. The only other issue we had was locating the "owners closet" with beach items. We found it outside of the garage doors but it isn't labeled and it is not clear that is where the beach items are. There is a code on the door but the code wasn't shared with us so I had to call MVH to get the code. The code should be shared with guests ahead of time like the gate and door codes are. Once found, the beach closet was super convenient and an added bonus.

Enjoyed Westwinds

Nice condo. Very nice Westwinds resort. Golf cart lots of fun. Bed in condo very uncomfortable. It needs to be replaced. This is the only thing that would keep us from renting this condo in the future.

Perfect location

Great place to stay. Clean and beautiful view of the ocean. Management was good with communication. I wish early check in was a thing again, would be nice when arriving early on a rainy day. Other than that I would definitely recommend this place!

Great view but awful bed

You know those units that you can tell the owners visit and stay there… This is not one of them. The view and amenities are excellent.. unit itself while it was clean and did not have an odor, just felt outdated, the bed was so lumpy that my husband had to sleep on the couch. The water would only remain hot for a few minutes which made showering difficult. While I definitely would stay again at West wins, I would make sure not to stay in this unit. When we arrived, the halo alarm was on and water was turned off automatically, thankfully, there were signs that informed you who to call to have fixed. Apparently mop was close to one of the sensors on the floor, which then alerted the system that it was flooding. Owners need to update unit.

Great getaway!

We had a wonderful time, the resort had so much to offer and everything was easy to get to from the condo. Golf cart was a plus. Love the app that they use as well, everything you need to know was easy to find!

The bed was very comfy but could have used an extra blanket as it was cool when we were there. The bathroom was a nice size, with plenty of towels and travel size toiletries, as well as great water pressure and lots of hot water. Having a washer and dryer was the best, we didn't take any dirty clothes home! The view from the balcony was great, we loved sitting out there! The kitchen was small but manageable; it included an adequate amount of dishes, pots and pans, and utensils. The golf cart was awesome! We used it to visit Baytown Wharf, Grand Boulevard, and loved driving all around the property! The supply room on the ground floor was really nice too, it included several beach chairs, an umbrella, sand toys and a cooler! And the customer service was top notch, any time we had an issue or question, someone answered quickly! Thanks, Pam, for your help with the chair! We look forward to staying here again!

Perfect location with a beautiful view!

We loved the location and view! The bathtub needs replaced or cleaned very well! It is not very appealing! We killed a few bugs here and there! The place is well equipped and if these things were taken of care of then it is a perfect place to stay!!

Beautiful condo and view

We had a great time during our stay. The property of westwinds was wonderful with the beach service and restaurant by the pool. The pool was perfect for kids and the kiddie pool was great too. The condo had an absolutely breathtaking view and a super comfortable bed. We would definitely stay here again.

Things that need to be addressed

Nice furniture. Defects in property. Indentation in kitchen floor, bathroom lavatory facets work bacjwards(hot and cold reversed) curtains off the hooks, ice maker worked but not on the door….had to put your hands in the bucket. Golf cart was extremely hard to steer, bottomed out and brakes locked up…dangerous.
