Disappointed

I stayed at this house with 2 friends during cold weather. The heating was set at 16.5 when we arrived…not a warm welcome! We did finally work out how to turn the heating up the next day. Although the owners said the details on how to do this are in the house we couldn’t find them. The house has been beautifully updated but lacks insulation and curtains so is very noisy. If one person gets up in the night everyone is awake! There is a Postal Sorting Office close to the house which woke us up at 4.30 each morning. Beware the car parking space is a 7-10 min walk away from the house so will not necessarily be suitable for all. The space is in an unlit area beyond the long stay car park. I would not want to go there on my own. Although I am sure the crime rate is low in Holt we didn’t like leaving our car tucked away in an old allotment with no lighting. We loved our time in Holt and will visit again but find another cottage to stay in.
