This historic little cottage is nestled in the coastal town of Whitby, with a host of attractions on your doorstep.. Ground Floor:

Please note: No children under the age of 3.. Tucked down a peaceful yard, just steps away from the heart of Whitby, which bustles with quirky independent shops and cafes, as well as glorious sandy beaches and the harbour all waiting to be explored. Set over three floors this cottage is believed to be over 200 years old, completely renovated from top to bottom yet still retaining a traditional quirky charm. Stepping inside you are welcomed into the open planned living area, with a compact yet fully equipped kitchenette, a dining table as well as a corner sofa with a wall mounted TV.
On the first floor you have the master double bedroom with a built-in mirrored wardrobe. Stairs will take you up to the second floor where you have two single beds under the eaves, these beds are of a high quality and are suitable for adults, making this an ideal choice for families as well as friends. Each room has been tastefully furnished, providing a cosy and authentic stay by the coast. After a busy day, you have the ideal central base to return to, where you can unwind in comfort. Stepping back in time, this yard once housed one of the jet workshops which are an important part in the town’s heritage, it was also in this yard where the historic photographer Sutcliffe had his gallery and studio.
The town centre is 20 yards from the property where you can find a large selection of pubs, quaint antiques and gift shops where you can buy the famous Whitby Jet jewellery and find 3 miles of golden sandy beaches. There are also some excellent award-winning restaurants where you sample many mouth-watering seafood dishes that Whitby is famous for. There are many music festival weekends including the sixties weekend, soul weekend and Goth weekends, which attract many visitors all year round. The area is a haven for keen ramblers and cyclists with many tracks and pathways close by, including the famous 110-mile Cleveland Way that can be picked up on the cliff top.
Whitby is surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the North York Moors, which you can enjoy by taking either the Esk Valley train that takes you to Middlesbrough, stopping at the pretty villages dotted along the North Yorkshire National Park areas, or the excellent North York Moor steam train, that will take you from Whitby to the lovely market town of Pickering, stopping off at Goathland, otherwise known as ‘Heartbeat Country’. The lovely coastal resorts of Sandsend, Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hoods Bay are all within close proximity and are well worth a visit. All year round this is a destination with lots to see and do, the coastline is glorious with many quaint villages and bays to discover.
