Left the property yesterday morning after a 4 night break, this will be my honest opinion, not the best start have to force a reply by text asking the owner to confirm gate codes and key codes, 3 days to reply,
On arrival at the property immediate thought wow, the owner was there and gave us a very brief overview of how to use things and where things were, we never got to use the log burner as it was to warm, we did have rain thunder and lightning would have ben nice to out the heated towel rail on to dry towels etc but had no idea how to put them on or where the central heating was, (and believe me we looked)
For a 5 star property there was a lot wrong, we couldn’t open the door from the inside as the decking had warped, the owner did tell us about this, she said that the cleaners had been in, (really) there was cobwebs and spiders everywhere the hoover was full of dog hair and clearly had not been emptied in weeks, the shower tray doesn’t allow you to have a shower and leaks all over the bathroom floors, only 1 shower mat and anti slip mat for 2 showers, the towels were small and always wet due to not being able to dry them and no towel change during the week, the beds are a small double, there is two bedroom and a sofa bed, there was 3 people staying in the property and due to be average size people, 1 person was forced to sleep on the sofa bed due to uncomfortable night sleep, no extra bedding so was forced to use a blanket and a end of bed blanket as a duvet, fortunately. It was warm, cooking facilities were good but a change of frying pan is required obviously been burnt in the past and now its is defo not non stick,
TV was a smart TV and prime Netflix can be streamed good job as we couldn't get live TV there is an Ariel outside but no wire to TV, luckily there was ITV player where this was the only channel i could get a delayed live TV.
Hot tube was Fab and loved the shape and size, didn’t have chance to use the BBQ.
Very modern cabin but lots of little things that need attention and make a difference. Get king size beds there is ample room in the rooms or 2 twin beds.
My other tiny compliant is you can not check in until 5pm, and you have to vacate for 10am so Monday to fri you are getting 3 full days but paying for 5 doesn’t seem fair we have to check in late and out so early.
This area is in a rural location, there is dogs walks however you have to walk your dog on a main road to get to the walk or drive to a near location. We are surrounded by fields and the location apparently is set on acres and acres of land and yet there is no direct access to walk dogs. The pub is a good 30 min walk where you will need a torch and a good set of walking shoes as you walk right through the Forrest,
However all in all we did have a fabulous time as its very centrally located for Portsmouth and Chichester and Bognor Regis and only a short drive away, be mindful that we have found all the man attractions in Portsmouth will not allow dogs. So one person will be left walking the streets.
If we were to return we wouldn’t take a dog, i would expect it to be cleaner and all the things mentioned to be fixed, i think for the time of year and the length of stay i did feel it was a little steep the price,
