Beautiful, quaint and exceptionally stocked
Spent 4 days at Silhouette Stable (2 bedroom & 2 bathroom property) - very clean upon arrival, interior well planned and decorated. Excellent stock of essential items (cutlery, dishwasher tablets, plastic glasses for hot tub etc) - dog friendly even included dog treats, dog towels, poo bags and bowl. Hot tub was super clean and was checked daily (some days didn’t even know they had been) outdoor space included decked area with very comfy rattans and cushions - grass was perfect for puppy zoomies - if I was to make any recommendation (very minor) it would be “king beds”. Sarah was amazing from start to finish and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Amazing
We stayed at Silhouettes and Lucky's for three nights with our family of 10 to celebrate an 80th birthday and they proved to be perfect. Everything is of high quality and much thought has been put into the conversions. The hot tubs, as anticipated, were a mecca for our grandchildren! If you like the look of it - book it now!

Beautiful stable conversion
Silhouette stable is a beautiful place to stay, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Whilst rural it is only a short drive to the beach and city and so many interesting places. Local pubs and cafes are excellant and very dog friendly. We will definitely return

Overview of our stay
Overall the standard of the lodge and situation was excellent. We only had two criticisms (which were communicated to Sarah on departure) The mattress in the bedroom above the kitchen was very uncomfortable. Very 'lumpy'. It is in need of replacement. The grass area in the garden was very muddy. We were constantly clearing up muddy footprints around the lodge from our dogs. Obviously, in the summer months, this problem would be reduced. But throughout our stay, the grass area was water-logged. We also prefer TV,'s in the bedroom (but this is a secondary issue) Yes, we would return and recommend this property, if the two main issues were addressed. Hope this feedback helps.

Great stay !
This is a real hidden gem in a beautiful location just shy of Bosham and only 5 minutes to Chichester. The house is very private and enclosed with a beautiful patio and garden. It is well equipped with a beautiful kitchen which has doors opening to the patio, garden and hot tub at the back and a stable door opening to the shared front garden with the adjoining property ( Lucky Stables). There is a large bathroom downstairs with excellent shower and plenty storage. Bedrooms are upstairs ( fairly steep but carpeted and not many) and a further, smaller, shower room. Beds are comfortable, however, they are standard doubles and, for us, a bit too compact but we made do for our holiday. Both rooms have lovely windows and nice views. The host, Sarah, is excellent and very responsive to any queries, issues etc. Our dogs loved it but our slightly older dog is not good on wood floors ( throughout the ground floor) but Sarah was able to very quickly provide additional rugs which helped a great deal. I would recommend this property to anyone wishing to base themselves near the West Sussex coast. We travelled to Brighton in the East and Lymington in Hampshire taking in Midhurst, the New Forest, Portsmouth, Selsey and various other road trips within that area. Eateries are close by and Sarah gives a very comprehensive summary on arrival of what is nearby and recommended. We particularly liked, Driftwood in Elmhurst, The Bosham Inn, Joanna’s tearoom in Chichester and can thoroughly recommend The Three Horseshoes Pub in Elsted, near Midhurst.

A beautiful luxurious mini break
We had a wonderful stay in Silhouettes Stable for a long weekend. The stable was immaculate when we arrived, and Sarah was very welcoming and showed us all the amenities. We loved the complimentary prosecco and chocolates on arrival too! The beds were extremely comfy, and it was a very child friendly place as we had a 2 yr old and 9 month old with us. The location was beautiful and very peaceful, and we enjoyed a day out at nearby Bosham Harbour. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Silhouette's Stable to friends and family!

Our third visit to Oakwood West
We've just returned from another wonderful stay and have seen and done so much again but all different from our two previous stays. This time we stayed in Silhouette but it was equally as special and on par in every way as Fern Lodge. I think all the properties at Oakwood have something unique and special. On this visit we explored the east of Chichester a little more and visited the amazing gardens and sculptures at Leonardslee Gardens, saw a Purple Emperor butterfly and wild ponies at Knepp Rewilding, explored Arundel and had a nice drink by the river at the Black Rabbit, walked from Lavington common to Duncton, saw lots of Red Kites and had another nice drink at the Cricketeers pub, walked around the Chidham/Cobnor peninsula and saw all the yachts in the Chichester Harbour area and had yet another nice drink at the Forresters Arms in Graffham one evening It's such a lovely area and Oakwood West is well placed for exploring in all directions Until next time, thanks

Loved the stable theme
Great welcome. Beautiful setting. Lovely enclosed peaceful garden. Good walking distance to a few pubs. Short drives to the sea or Chichester. But feels far away from it all. We all loved it.

Wonderful cosy break!
Everything was perfect! Every small extra had been thought through from dog biscuits to plastic tumblers for the hot tub. As our visit was in February, we made very good use of the wood burner, kettle and hot tub. Sarah was welcoming, responsive and helpful. We were sad to leave!

A fantastic place
Everything is great… from comfort, facilities to location. Sarah is brilliant and all went very smoothly. Chichester town and cathedral is well worth a visit. A lovely woodland walk on the estate although part was flooded and too deep for walking boots. A few logs to change that would be great. Saw deer roaming and had a terrific Christmas. Thank you

First visit to West Sussex ...& first holiday with a dog
Lovely property in a quiet location, yet convenient for exploring the area. Easy access to the site and parking by the stable gate. The stable was light and airy, beautifully decorated, clean, spacious & very well equipped. Warm too - so sadly didn’t get to light the log burner. Loved the little touches such as the bowl/treats/towels/bags for the dog. Sarah the host was very welcoming and helpful and had thought of pretty much everything.. even down to the waterproof playing cards & floating tray for the hot tub! The outdoor area was private, well maintained & very inviting - sunny by day, lovely lighting for the evenings and completely secure for a dog and/or little ones. Was sorry to leave and would definitely recommend.

6/10 Okay

Could be so much better
Left the property yesterday morning after a 4 night break, this will be my honest opinion, not the best start have to force a reply by text asking the owner to confirm gate codes and key codes, 3 days to reply, On arrival at the property immediate thought wow, the owner was there and gave us a very brief overview of how to use things and where things were, we never got to use the log burner as it was to warm, we did have rain thunder and lightning would have ben nice to out the heated towel rail on to dry towels etc but had no idea how to put them on or where the central heating was, (and believe me we looked) For a 5 star property there was a lot wrong, we couldn’t open the door from the inside as the decking had warped, the owner did tell us about this, she said that the cleaners had been in, (really) there was cobwebs and spiders everywhere the hoover was full of dog hair and clearly had not been emptied in weeks, the shower tray doesn’t allow you to have a shower and leaks all over the bathroom floors, only 1 shower mat and anti slip mat for 2 showers, the towels were small and always wet due to not being able to dry them and no towel change during the week, the beds are a small double, there is two bedroom and a sofa bed, there was 3 people staying in the property and due to be average size people, 1 person was forced to sleep on the sofa bed due to uncomfortable night sleep, no extra bedding so was forced to use a blanket and a end of bed blanket as a duvet, fortunately. It was warm, cooking facilities were good but a change of frying pan is required obviously been burnt in the past and now its is defo not non stick, TV was a smart TV and prime Netflix can be streamed good job as we couldn't get live TV there is an Ariel outside but no wire to TV, luckily there was ITV player where this was the only channel i could get a delayed live TV. Hot tube was Fab and loved the shape and size, didn’t have chance to use the BBQ. Very modern cabin but lots of little things that need attention and make a difference. Get king size beds there is ample room in the rooms or 2 twin beds. My other tiny compliant is you can not check in until 5pm, and you have to vacate for 10am so Monday to fri you are getting 3 full days but paying for 5 doesn’t seem fair we have to check in late and out so early. This area is in a rural location, there is dogs walks however you have to walk your dog on a main road to get to the walk or drive to a near location. We are surrounded by fields and the location apparently is set on acres and acres of land and yet there is no direct access to walk dogs. The pub is a good 30 min walk where you will need a torch and a good set of walking shoes as you walk right through the Forrest, However all in all we did have a fabulous time as its very centrally located for Portsmouth and Chichester and Bognor Regis and only a short drive away, be mindful that we have found all the man attractions in Portsmouth will not allow dogs. So one person will be left walking the streets. If we were to return we wouldn’t take a dog, i would expect it to be cleaner and all the things mentioned to be fixed, i think for the time of year and the length of stay i did feel it was a little steep the price,

Not for us
Although you could take a dog where the stables are you have all the site walking passed for showers ect. Plus cars going in and out And of course the dog would bark we where for ever calling him in as there we notices about keep noise down. Also lots of rules for the dog no upstairs. So you are opening a gate to go upstairs not the easy ones either. I think it is not a sight for dogs or children. I didn't know about all the rules before I booked.

A relaxing week away
Silhouette Stables was a lovely place to stay. Bella, our German Shepherd was also made to feel very welcome with treats and towels available. The enclosed garden was great, being able to use the hot tub knowing Bella was secure was reassuring. Sarah was available to answer any questions we may of had throughout our stay. It was a great base as there’s lots of woodland, beach walks all within a short drive. Silhouette Stables had everything we needed!
