Love Lake Dunmore
Staying at Jeannie’s is like staying at a quirky aunt’s house—in both good and not-so-good ways. That said, for me, the good far outweighed the not-so-good. Sure, the laundry room is filled with all kinds of stuff and you have to lean over several items to turn on the dryer—but the washer and dryer both work well. What a bonus to have a washer and dryer! There are more pots and pans and kitchen utensils than you’ll ever need and the kitchen is a bit cluttered, but better to have more than less when you’ll be cooking at home a lot: Having sinks in three of the bedrooms is interesting, but they come in handy for brushing teeth and putting in your contacts when there are only two bathrooms and only one real shower. The boathouse needs a good straightening up, but there are two canoes and two kayaks and the dock has a nice shaded area in the morning. The lane the house is on is wonderful for a walk, and every neighbor I met was friendly and happy to answer questions. The screened in patio is also a lovely spot to do some work while you look at the lake, even if you’re sitting on two cushions on a chair that’s seen better days. The bedrooms have plenty of storage and the house has plenty of space—and is reasonably priced. If you’re a neat freak, this place may not be for you. But if you love Lake Dunmore and want a nice, quiet spot on the lake, go for it. I’d definitely stay at Jeannie’s again.

Lake Dunmore
We had a lovely time at Camp Shaw. The days were spent hiking, fishing and playing board games. I would definitely recommend this home to families.

Simplicity at its best. It was so lovely to take a step back and enjoy the beauty of Lake Dunmore. A welcome reprieve from a busy schedule. We were so lucky to hear and see the Loons. To be with our friends and family was truly the best.

Peaceful, beautiful family retreat
Fun vintage cottage with awesome screened porch overlooking Lake Dunmore. The swimming is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We kayaked daily and spent a lot of time relaxing on the upper deck of the boathouse. The house was very cool and comfy with plenty of cross breezes Thank you Reverend Jean!

I grew up at this lake hiking, swimming and rock climbing. This is home to me. I can center here. I hope you can to. About me - I am a justice seeking Presbyterian pastor that leads trips to areas destroyed by disaster, where we rebuild homes and hope.

Why they chose this property

Afternoon sunsets, privacy, quiet, amazing views, calm waters, lots of outdoor activities and some of the best hikes right outside the back door. Wine and cheese on the deck at the end of a day hiking can't be beat.

What makes this property unique

Privacy, proximity to many adventures, incredibly beautiful area, and the house is spacious and welcoming.
