About this property

Large detached house in a central location to explore the Scottish Highlands.

Oak Tree House is a large detached house set back from the road in the village of Tomatin, with a shop and café. It is an ideal central location to explore the wider Scottish Highlands. Tomatin is located just to the west of the main A9 trunk road 25km south of Inverness and 25km north of Aviemore and the Cairngorms National Park. Inverness airport is 30 minutes north by car. Within daily travelling distance is Ullapool, Isle of Syke and the north and east costs of Scotland. To the rear of the property there is a stunning landscaped garden with a large pond with views of the River Findhorn and Findhorn Viaduct.

On the ground floor there is a kitchen and separate boot room, a large hall, main wet room bathroom, lounge and dining room, sun lounge, two bedrooms (1 en-suite wet room). There are wood burning stoves in the lounge and kitchen.

Upstairs there is a large landing and seating area, a secret library door leads to an en-suite bedroom, there are two further bedrooms.

There is ample off-road parking to the front of the property for up to 5 vehicles. The ground floor of the property and rear garden have good accessibility.

Beautiful stay in Tomatin
This was a beautiful property with stunning views from the back garden. We’ll stocked kitchen, super fun secret room and perfectly located for exploring Inverness and the surrounds. Would definitely book again.

The Oak House at Tomatin
We had a lovely stay at The Oak House in the village of Tomatin. The house was beautiful. Look for the hidden bedroom. The sunrises were picture perfect through the hobbit arch in the garden. Distance from Inverness and from Aviemore were easy. Super quiet stay in a beautiful home.

Family Weekend Away
This house is lovely and ideal for a larger group (10 adults and a dog). Everything was clean and well kept. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you need including an extra fridge in the utility. It has a lovely garden with plenty of room to sit out if the weather allows. Bathrooms are modern and large. Beds are clean and comfortable. Beautiful quiet location within walking distance of the local cafe/shop. We had a very enjoyable stay.

The property is very spacious, clean and nice. There is everything that it might be needed for a pleasant stay. It’s sweetable for families with children. When we have arrived the host was lightened up the 2 stoves. It was warm enough at whole time. I recommend.

Long overdue family Christmas
We had a magical Christmas in the Cairngorms with the family including dogs. Beautiful house and garden which was perfect for us. Chris was brilliant to communicate with and super helpful in finding a hot tub for us to hire. Loads of space and amazingly well kitted out for our huge Christmas dinner!! Absolutely loved this place. The hidden bedroom was a blessing for my husband when he needed to hide from the nephews 😁

Fantastisches Haus mit traumhaften Garten für eine große Famile
Dieses Traumhaus war der ideale Ausgangspunkt für zwei Wochen voller Ausflüge zu Burgen und Schlösser, Culloden, Highlandgames in Ballander, Isle of Skyre, Glenn Affrik, Loch Ness und Tomatin Destillery. Die Größe und Ausstattung des Hauses war sehr gut und es war auch sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Lediglich die wohl in GB übliche gemeinsame Decke bei den Doppelbetten und der nicht vorhandene elektrische Wäschetrockner sind kleine Einschränkungen. Der Kontakt zu Chris war übrigens super-nett. Vielen Dank für den tollen Urlaub, den wir nie vergessen werden.

Perfect location for our highland adventures! Owner even offered use of his fly rod but my son brought his own. Findhorn river is sooo close. Backyard is resort like, so relaxing. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Idyllic house in beautiful Tomatin
Gorgeous property in peaceful village with a fabulous quaint cafe next door. The grounds and vegetable garden are unreal! Pictures do not do justice! So comfortable and lovely! Extremely clean , spacious and well appointed home. Kitchen had everything you’ll need to enjoy meals together. We had 4 couples and we’re all pleased with rooms and bathrooms. Loved this place!

Lots of space, very clean and well-appointed. Kids really needed to burn some energy after castle tours and drive time, so the garden here was wonderful for them to run and play. Outstanding property- would definitely stay again!

Highlands Holiday
Beautiful and roomy, we enjoyed our time in Tomatin to finish our Scotland holiday. The garden and view were amazing, and the location was perfect -- we walked to the distillery for a tasting, so no one had to drive. Getting back to the airport was easy and quick. Overall, this was the best place we stayed at during our trip!
