About this property

Stylish lodge w/ spa bathrooms, river, views, hot tub, between 2 Yosemite Gates

Welcome to our modern lodge, set on 10 private acres with a river running through the property. The Yosemite valley is 55 mins away and accessible year-round, for 4 season fun, via a beautiful drive through the wild and scenic Merced river canyon. We are 8-10 mins to the shops, bars and restaurants in downtown Mariposa.

We’ve combined the best of modern and rustic into a newly remodeled, luxurious and comfortable space. Spend the day cooling off in our river. Or maybe an afternoon reading in a hammock built for 2. Sink into comfy Adirondack chairs and share a drink at sunset on the large deck. Cook a delicious dinner in the fully equipped cook’s kitchen. At the end of your day, snuggle in front of the large fireplace.

Nestled on an oak-dotted hillside just outside of the historic town of Mariposa, our newly remodeled space has all the luxurious comfort and conveniences you need, combined with the peaceful solitude and nature of a mountain vacation home. From the large deck or wraparound porch, and numerous spots around the property, you can take in the gorgeous sunset views, the twinkling stars at night, or the native landscaping and visiting wildlife. Cook on the propane BBQ and enjoy a relaxed meal outside on a warm summer evening.

The house has an open floor plan. The living room flows to the large, cook’s kitchen and dining area, bringing everyone together while cooking and socializing. The living area has plenty of room and comfortable seating for you to enjoy watching DVDs or shows on your Netflix and Amazon account on the flat screen tv. Sit in a corner on one of the cushioned benches to read a book from the library, overlook the view from the windows and sliding glass doors, play one of the many card and board games, or snuggle into the couches and enjoy the warmth of the stone fireplace. The house also has high speed wi-fi, so you can check email and surf the web if you need to.

The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, and everything you might need to create a wonderful meal, plus make your coffee in the morning. (For those foodies out there, please message us and we’d be happy to discuss the appliances, kitchen tools and basic cooking ingredients at the house.)

The large farmhouse table seats 8 and is next to a bar area so there's plenty of room to spread out. There is a good assortment of glasses, a cocktail shaker, cocktail making supplies, electric wine opener and a blender available for your enjoyment. A full-sized ping-pong table, and other outdoor games are only steps away from the kitchen and patio, so the entertainment can easily be continued from one spot to the next.

The house has air conditioning and central heating and sleeps 4 comfortably, with a king bed in the master bedroom, a queen bed in the second room, and a comfortable queen-sized sleeper sofa in the living room. (One of our guests told us the sleeper sofa was more comfortable than their mattress at home!) We supply all the bedding for the sleeper sofa. Each bedroom has blackout blinds. The master bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom with double sinks, tub and shower, and separate toilet. The second bedroom also has a bathroom with shower, single sink and toilet. Each bathroom has bath towels, hand towels, soap and lotion, and a hairdryer.

There is a full laundry room on site, complete with laundry soap and dryer needs. Feel free to use them as needed.

The price includes an 12% transient occupancy tax that is required and collected by the county of Mariposa. This house sits privately on acreage surrounded by nature. As in any mountainous setting, wild animals could visit the property.
The river on the property is seasonal. It usually flows October to July depending on rainfall.

Burn restrictions are in effect in the summer, and usually extend from late May until late October. NO FIRES.

Amazing wilderness experience impeccably kept house

This was a winner!!! The house is very well equipped and so cozy and comfortable. Great steep hike down to the river. The only minor issue was the trash and where to place. We loved this special spot. We will come again.

Lovely Retreat

We absolutely LOVED our time at this property! It's such a peaceful and beautiful location--and the home and outbuildings are charming. The updated kitchen is great to cook in and we enjoyed dining outside frequently. The home itself is full of natural light and is so pleasant to be in. Having the creek/river on the property is amazing! It's an easy hike to get to get there and so special to have your own little private "watering hole" so to speak. I cannot say enough good things about this place! It was so special for our family to get to stay here at Copperlodge, we sure hope to return again soon!

Just what we needed!

We were over the moon with this property! My husband and I, along with another couple desperately needed a break from our hectic lives so I booked Copper Lodge praying it was as good as it looked on line. I kid you not, it was better than we could have imagined. Natalie and Jon have done a masterful job providing a wonderful vacation home: Open, bright, and well stocked, rustic without going overboard. They were quick to answer the questions we had. The one down side is that our cell reception was a bit spotty but that actully turned out to be a blessing... reliazed the world kept turning without them. Anyway... LOVE this place and will definitely return.

Private & peaceful

My daughter & I loved this beautiful property. It is meticulously maintained. The house is so well stocked & had everything we could imagine to make our stay comfortable. We loved the hidden TV in the living room & the head board & foot board of the bed in the master made from vintage doors! Very clever. Just a beautiful home. The property is so much fun to explore. We used the outdoor living room quite a lot. A lovely place to relax & reflect. There are tons of bunnies that are so entertaining to watch play. The privacy allowed us to just sit back & decompress. We were looking for a property that was the destination itself & we found it!

Wonderful secluded getaway

We had an amazing time spending the Thanksgiving holiday at Copper Lodge. It was just what we needed as an escape from the reality of the pandemic. The property is beautiful and there was plenty of space for our 2 year old to wander and explore. She loved going on the swings and just exploring around the house. We made a couple of treks down to the river and it was still beautiful to see even with the ice frozen over. It's a nice short walk and felt very relaxing knowing it was private property and we would not encounter other people. We imagined that the property would be even better over the summer to enjoy the river and swim. The house was very cozy and comfortable. We were having some issues with the fireplace and Natalie was kind enough to walk us through the details on Thanksgiving! We worked out the kinks and enjoyed the fireplace everyday. The beautiful drive to Yosemite took us under an hour and was very convenient. All in all a wonderful trip. We hope to come back again!

Better than I could have imagined!

I can’t even express how happy we are with our stay at Copperlodge. Even Better than we imagined! Natalie is great. She accommodated a last minute change to our plans, was prompt with communications, and provided a detailed description of her favorite hikes in the area. The house has a great layout, and is fully stocked with everything we had forgotten :) We love cooking and the kitchen was a dream. Everything one would need to make complex meals is there. The house feels very upscale, yet it has a laid back vibe. There are lots of different spots to sit and enjoy the landscape. Tons of books of all genres, and they are ordered by color :) After long days of hiking, watching the sunsets from the two tubs on the deck was just perfect. Although this trip was just me and my wife, we would love to come back with family and friends. The property would be great for kids. I could keep going because there is so much I haven’t described, but I will leave you with this: We didn’t want to leave, and we can’t wait to come back. Thanks Natalie!!!

Beautiful Place for family

We really loved the house and entire property. My parents were visiting me from India and they really loved it. Unfortunately we couldn't explore the adventurous trail to the river maybe next time. Many indoor games and huge outdoor area. The entire house is beautiful and very well decorated.

Magical get-away

This is such an amazing place! We saw rabbits on the property every day and even a few deer. There were many outdoor and indoor games to play and the swimming hole was a nice place to cool off. The house itself was perfect! A huge kitchen, large master bedroom and family room. Very clean and well-decorated. It's rustic from the outside but very homey and modern on the inside. We didn't want to leave!

Yosemite and Copper Ranch - The Perfect Balance!

Natalie and Jon, A labor of Love!!! Copper Ranch is AMAZING!!! Besides all the modern conveniences/appliances, it's the special attention to detail you guys thought of and incorporated throughout the house and outdoor surroundings that makes this such a special and comfortable place to hang your hat. So many fun surprises!!! From the updated “chicken coop” (no chickens) which is a cool place for the kids to hang out or sleep, to the converted stable where I had my early morning coffee with the mule deer and taking in the sunset with a glass of wine, to the lighted outdoor patio for meals - this place was fantastic. And, oh yeah, the river below - your own little national park at the bottom of the hill. In Yosemite we pushed hard and were spent at the end of the day able to come back to such a great place to unwind and recharge for the tomorrow's adventures - the perfect balance. Thanks for the experience! M

Hidden Gem!

We stayed at this home 9/21 thru 9/26. It was perfect. We loved it. The house has everything you would ever need and then some. Natalie was so helpful and responded to all my questions right away. (I had some concerns regarding the fires that were going on). Yosemite National Park is an hour away but we didn't mind. The drive into the park is very scenic. We would definitely stay here again.

This property ranks as one of the best we've had the pleasure of staying at. Highly recommended!

The home is very nicely furnished with modern appliances and equipped with most anything you could need. We were very impressed with the comfort of the beds and the owners have made every effort to accommodate their guests needs. We stayed 3 nights and wish it had been longer as there was a lot we wanted to do there but didn't have enough time. The communication was super fast and very personal & friendly. I can't say enough to describe what a great place it is. The location is outside Mariposa (wonderful little town!) and provides a nice, quiet place to relax. We drove to Yosemite every morning and hiked all day. It was so nice to come home to the Copper Lodge for the evening and recover from a hard day. Thank you so much for a wonderful retreat for our vacation!

Wonderful Place in the World

We recently returned from a trip to this house and Yosemite area. It was magical, super well-appointed and a ton of fun for our family of four. We had a great swim in the river, a nice hike down a marked trail. Also had a couple of meals at Steve's Sportsman's Cafe, only a couple of miles away and really friendly with great food. The beds were comfy, the showers hot, tons of books to enjoy. The house/property/area is really peaceful and quiet. We hope to go back again, thanks so much to Natalie for her help and great local advice.

Hi and very nice to meet you!

My husband Jon and I are looking forward to welcoming you to our river house in the woods and doing everything we can to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

I grew up in England, and moved to California for art school in my early twenties, having spent time on the east coast first. I’m now in marketing. Jon is a third-generation Californian and runs a design-build business.

We’re conscious of our home environment and setting it up well. The house is in a beautiful setting that’s secluded and quiet and provides everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Some of our most cherished times have been spent here–from gatherings with friends and family, to quiet, romantic weekends, with just the two of us.

We hope to have the pleasure to meet you and help you enjoy your time in Mariposa and Yosemite as much as we do! Please don’t hesitate to message me if you have any questions.

Why they chose this property

When we’re not working, we enjoy traveling, both around the States and internationally, and use AirBnB as much as we can. We also love being out in nature and get away to camp and backpack frequently. We divide our time between the San Francisco bay area and Mariposa. Yosemite is one of our favorite places in the world and we’re passionate about sharing our knowledge, appreciation and love for the park and surrounding areas.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with this property because of its proximity to Yosemite and all the outdoor opportunities close by. We also love the town of Mariposa and all the fun places to eat and drink there.

The property itself is quiet and secluded and we have 1/4 mile of river running through it. When we don't feel like leaving, we can hike and swim and relax on the river. It's a great retreat in and of itself.
