Family Retreat & Hunting Lodge near The Isle Of Skye
The Glen Shiel Estate covers more than 14,500 acres of mountains, rivers, and foreshore, providing a natural habitat for wildlife of all kinds. The Lodge is located in an incredibly beautiful setting in the Scottish Highlands, offering breathtaking views in every direction. It can accommodate up to 16 guests in the main lodge, making it ideal for large groups of families, friends, corporate retreats, and outdoor adventure excursions. Additionally, Glenshiel is an excellent option for wedding accommodations or receptions, with the nearby Eilean Donan Castle adding to its appeal.
The Lodge consists of eight bedrooms, which are split between two wings of the house, and there is also a Coach House with two more bedrooms available for use. The interior of the Lodge is warm and spacious, with three open fires, and has been tastefully renovated to create a cosy yet rustic home-away-from-home, while still retaining its Scottish roots.

Activities:
You are perfectly situated to explore some of the most challenging stalking and Munro walking that the Highlands has to offer. Everything you need for outdoor pursuits is on the door step; whether it's deer stalking, clay shooting on the ranges, boat trips to discover the magnificent whales, dolphins and seals; fishing for salmon and sea trout on the River Shiel, all can be arranged in advance via local companies. As well as being a drive away from Scotland's great ski slopes, you are also close to the spectacularly scenic NC500 route, where classic cars roar past, and make you feel like you are stepping back in time.
Deer Stalking / Fishing / Pony Trekking can all be arranged directly with the lodge subject to availability.
You are surrounded by some of the best fine dining experiences in the UK, including a 2 Michelin starred restaurant on the breathtaking Isle Of Skye and there is a local pub within walking distance. In house catering may also be possible - please enquire for more information.
Nice to know:
The house is serviced by oil central heating and in addition there are 3 working open fires. All fuel for the heating and open fires is included within the rent, as is all electricity.
The Lodge has a smart TV, a DVD player and a Bluetooth speaker.
Bed linen and towels are included. A cot is available.
The lodge has 3 large roll-top baths and 3 showers.
A highchair and stair gates are available for children.
A gun cabinet is provided for the stalking season.
Garden furniture and children’s swings in the rear garden area.
BBQ provided with tools (Charcoal not included).
There is ample car parking adjacent to the Lodge.
There is a very small shop in Shiel itself, which is located 1/4 mile from the Lodge for very basic provisions but there is also a Co-op supermarket in the town of Kyle of Lochalsh (20 minutes drive) as well as the possibility of getting Asda home delivery direct to the lodge.
Local beauticians/yoga teachers and private caterers can be arranged on request
THE FIVE SISTERS OF KINTAIL
The mountain range which consists of 6 (NOT 5) peaks is a great challenge to Mountaineers and Hillwalkers
The ‘Five Sisters’ or ‘Beinn Mhor’, in Gaelic meaning ‘big mountain'.
They can be a technical challenge second to none, and in winter months offer one of the best challenges in Scotland if not the whole of Great Britain.
