About this property

Contemporary Townhouse with Sea Views & Parking

Summary:
From the moment you step through the door, you'll feel your shoulders drop and a sense of calm come over you. This contemporary beachside home oozes tranquillity and peace: from the beautiful beach-house interiors to the luxurious finishes. Its location on the Pentire Point also means it boasts stunning sea views at almost every turn. Its enviable location and elegant interiors makes this the perfect place for a relaxing coastal getaway.

The Space:
On the ground floor, there are two bedrooms - both with king-size beds (one can transform into twin beds if preferred). Crisp white walls are tastefully complimented with warm, natural textiles: from the carved wooden headboards to mango wood side tables and dried foliage. Both bedrooms have ample storage for clothes, and the back bedroom has patio doors that lead out into the rear garden. Furthermore, one is fitted with a Smart TV with Apps and Sky TV. The rooms share a stylish family bathroom with a freestanding bath and hand shower.

Upstairs, the first floor comprises of a light and bright open plan kitchen, dining and living room with views of the coast. The two balconies - one at the rear and another at the front - make a great spot for morning coffee or wine at sunset! You'll find plenty of high-quality amenities in the sleek, modern kitchen: including a built-in dual oven and microwave, electric hob, Dualit toaster and kettle as well as a coffee machine. Next door, sink into the large, comfortable sofa and find something to watch on the 4K SmartTV - there are ample apps and Sky TV with sports channels. On wintry nights, you can simply watch the sea mist roll in as you light up the stylish wood burner - it's total bliss.

The master bedroom on the top floor is a real gem, boasting some of the best views in the house as well as an opulent four-poster king bed and a private balcony. The second bedroom also features a king-size bed (or twin beds if preferred) as well as a Juliet balcony overlooking the garden. Both have en-suite bathrooms with walk-in waterfall showers.

Dogs welcome with fee of £20/dog (max 2).

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the entire property.

The Neighborhood:
Newquay town centre has a wide selection of shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars which are all within easy walking distance from the house.

Fistral Beach is a five minute walk away, so you won't need to worry about busy beach parking and you can be back under a hot outdoor shower at the back of the house in moments. This beach is well sheltered and lifeguarded July to November, so its ideal for both children and beginner surfers alike, with lessons and gear hire available from the beach front. There are a handful of great restaurants, shops and bars by Fistral Beach including Rick Steins and The Stable pizza. On the Pentire Point, you will find the lovely Lewinnick Lodge which offers brilliant food with a coastal back drop. It is around a 10 minute walk from the house or you can walk to the Headland in 15 minutes!

For keen walkers, the South West Coast Path runs seemingly endlessly in both directions and can be picked up at any point along the coast. Further afield, the world famous Eden Project can be reached in around 30 minutes drive and the art-hub of St Ives in about 40 minutes.

Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of Cornwall, a vehicle is recommended for getting the most out of your time here. There is free off-road parking for 2 cars at the front of the property.

However, if you do not have a vehicle Newquay is one of the best towns in Cornwall to visit. Trains operated by Great Western Railway run into the centre of town all the way from London Paddington. The station is then only a 7 minute drive from the property. Newquay also has an international airport. So if you are travelling by air you can either rent a car or take a taxi from the airport. From here it is only a 15 minute drive to the house.

Other Things to Note:
Guests with mobility issues should be aware the property is split over three floors. The property is accessed from the ground floor where two bedrooms are located. The main kitchen, dining and living area is on the first floor.

Interaction with Guests:
We will be available via message, email and phone during your stay. Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!

Disappointing, dirty and tired

Our experience was somewhat overshadowed by the overall condition and cleanliness of the property. On opening the front door, a distinct smell of "damp dog" permeates everything (we are dog lovers). The decoration of the house is very tired and really could do with a full refresh. Missing patches of flooring hidden under rugs etc. The house was really grubby with dog hair absolutely everywhere. We always remove our shoes at the front door and within a few minutes our respective socks were covered in hair and crumbs and various debris. The sofas are very tired and clearly house dogs when in residence. The amount of hair and cobwebs under the sofa and behind furniture was unpleasant. The balcony off the main lounge which was supposed to be the highlight had not been cleaned and was particularly dirty with what we think was remnants of dog mess on the floor tiles! The kitchen was really equipped but the frying pans and saucepans were greasy and were not washed properly from previous use. The bed linen smelt of damp and cobwebs and poor decoration continue up through the house (skylights full of thick cobwebs). The garden was most unappealing with tall weeds growing in the patio and patio area having been unswept for sometime. We wanted to BBQ but the BBQ itslef was absolutely filthy - we decided not to progress. We are not serial complainers but having paid a premium for the week to stay in the property (BoardMasters timing) we responded to a message from the hosts ask
