About this property

Foggs barn converted barn in the Peak District

Foggs' Barn is part of Fenns Farm Accommodation, search for discounted rate. The barn is set within our traditional farmyard. This charming stone barn was converted from an Eighteenth Century cattle barn into a comfortable and characterful holiday home in 2019. It is well equipped for modern living (washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, ovens, hob, etc.). Exposed stonework adds to the charm of the interior. The natural stone-flag floors on the ground level are heated, making a cosy living environment, which is added to by the working log-burner (logs can be purchased locally if required). This cottage can comfortably sleep 6; the beds can be made up as three super kings-size double beds or six single beds. There are two bedrooms on a lower level and one offers an en-suite shower room. There is one bedroom up a small flight of stairs and this shares a shower room with the other lower level bedroom. The living/dining room has two comfortable four seater sofas and two additional chairs; there is a large extendable dining table, which can comfortably seat fourteen guests if both Fenns Barn and Foggs' Barn are booked together (additional seating around the table is placed in for dining table if both properties are booked together). Outside, there is a seating area and lawn. There is amble space for parking cars.
Sorry no pets.
🏡Foggs' Barn is a charming stone barn in our farmyard which has been converted into a comfortable and characterful holiday home that is well equipped for modern living.
🐄The barn is set in our farmyard on the outskirts of The Peak District village of Butterton.
🛏The property has three bedrooms, one en-suite shower room and an additional shared shower room.
*🔥Wood fired Hot tub available for an additional charge. This needs to be arranged beforehand. Please ask before booking. The wood fired hot tub is filled and heated by guests and this takes about 3 hours before it’s ready for use. If you want to use the tub on your first evening, it is worth remembering to start heating the tub up as soon as you arrive.

🌳The location of our property is in quiet countryside a few minutes walk from the centre of our village, Butterton, where there is the Black Lion Inn that serves locally sourced food and real ales (advisable to book).

🐄Historically, Foggs' Barn was part of the old dairy and also has housed 10 cows and the bull through the long winter months, keeping them snug, well fed and sheltered from the elements.
🛏Now it can accommodate 6 guests in three bedrooms with super king zip and link beds, which can also be made up as 6 single beds.
🌳All of our guests who visit Fenns Farm Accommodation say that the barn makes the perfect base for getting away from the pressures and stresses of modern life. Our guests have fallen in love with the idyllic Manifold Valley that's just a short walk away. The spectacular Thors Cave awaits.
The barn sits on the outskirts of the pretty conservation village of Butterton. Enjoy a pint of real ale at the traditional Black Lion Inn with its open fires and a real olde-world atmosphere. Again, within a few minutes walk.
🛍Although the village is quiet and off the beaten track, the nearby market towns of Leek, Ashbourne and Buxton have all you require regarding shopping and eating out. The nearest of these (Leek) is just a 12 minute drive away and has most major supermarkets.
⭐️Local attractions include the world class theme park, Alton Towers (15 minutes drive), the historic Chatsworth House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire (25 minutes drive) and many, many more Peak District attractions from Crich Tram Museum to the depths of the Blue John Caverns at Castleton.
🏡In the barn itself, has been decorated to a high standard, heating is via a oil fired boiler, with underfloor heating in all ground floor rooms. The main living area has stone flooring with carpet in the upstairs bedroom.
The layout is open plan living/dining area with two separate shower rooms, one of which is an en-suite to the master bedroom.
🛏There is a ground floor double/twin and a double/twin up a flight of stairs.
The kitchen is fitted with a dishwasher, washer/dryer and a free standing fridge/freezer.
The outdoor space has a large patio area with table and chairs with space for parking 4 cars at the front of the property.
🛏Accommodation and Facilities
Foggs’ Barn has sleeping for 6 guests. There are three bedrooms with zip and link beds, each bedroom accommodates two guests. A bath towel for each guest is supplied. There are two shower rooms, one being an en-suite for the master bedroom. The barn has oil fired central heating with under floor heating on ground floor areas. 🔥There is a log burner in the living room, we don’t supply wood for this. The only wood we supply is if you have paid to use the wood fired hot tub and we supply enough for a couple of firings.
There is a fire guard and this must be used if young children are staying.
📱Phone signal in the area is weak, but there is Wi-fi in the property. Foggs’ Barn shares the farmyard with Fenns Barn, which is opposite. these properties can be booked together. Please be mindful of other guests during your stay.
